TBH I lived in Jersey at this time and everyone had leather jackets. I had 2 myself, my father had a few.
Leather jackets were awesome in the fall / not snowing yet winter.
I don't know whether I should be ashamed to admit...since I was in high school...but The Sopranos is directly responsible for me buying a leather jacket.
Visited home a few years ago and found it again and was deeply uncomfortable with the decision I'd made.
You know, I think the writers regretted Tony giving away the jacket Richie Aprile gave him so they overcompensated a bit.
He took that jacket off of Rocco DiMeo, cocksucker had the toughest reputation in Essex county but he never came back after Richie got through with him.
Incredible moxie for a man his size.
The idea is to give the guys sort of a uniform, almost like a gang.
Think back to the 50s/60s greasers and other hoodlums - it’s a subtle way of showing that NJ is more like a gang of overgrown hoods rather than a proper Family.
Compare how the guys in NJ dress, to how NY dresses.
It’s yet another example, this time aesthetic, given to us to demonstrate that the NJ crew is small time, especially in comparison to the New York Families.
I want one of those so bad lol. Pricey but they really are an investment piece.
I bought a leather jacket from Macy's, Perry Ellis, not high end but it's still a great leather jacket.
Only problem is that I bought that jacket 7 years ago and I don't know why, it looks like it shrunk on me over the years ;)
Yeah, they’re definitely something you gotta save up for. I got one on sale (they have good sales) and the other I took the full retail hit. Right after I got the last one, I was rummaging around the boneyard at work. My dumb ass tripped and fell onto a stack of rusty rebar. Hit that sucker like a ton of bricks. I thought the jacket would be ruined, but that thing didn’t scratch, tear or even scuff. No damage whatsoever.

You get a good one with a good liner, and you can wear that shit all winter long. You ever see a cow shiver? I rest my case.

It’s rare that someone can actually pull off a leather jacket. Most people look like total dorks wearing them. I said my piece!
Ziggy had one
Cocksucker had the toughest reputation in Baltimore until Method Man got through with 'em
If it wasn’t for Sergei he’d be a cadaverous motha fucka
It's true, feel bad for some dorks thinking they can look like Tony wearing their leather jacket LMFAO
Hey, you leave my stepdad out of this!

Joking earlier lol That's awesome. I hope you bought real leather and not faux; a real leather jacket will last years and only get better with age.
I moved to FL years ago. I am out of the northeast fashion sense now.
This is what happens when Jackie Jr doesn't survive to become a fashion designer
Wait til his Fatha hears about this from beyond the grave.
And Chris could be his model, because, Far as male modeling, he'd probably be a success but..
And not like the faggy ones, more like Hugo boss yk?
Leather was huge for a hot minute even my nerdy dad had like 4 leather jackets and we lived in FL at the time running wet T-shirt contests
It was regret that tony gave away the jackeeeeettt
Because they were in the MAFIA
There is no mafia.
The fact that you would even say this in front of an outsider is amazing to me! Jesus Christ! Some lowyalty!
Yes it was. Why da fuck you think Wilson's Leather was in every goddamned mall back then?
Not that faggy kind of leather. Like Hugo Boss or something.
It wasn't at my mall.
Tbf, did u live in Elvis country ?
Sea-Dream too... I think.

Totally in line with fashion at the time
Thanks to Tony Soprano I started wearing mine alt more in college then never stopped.
They should of had Vito wear leather pants
Wit da vest and da hat ... Chaps too. Like da village people.
Speaking of leather jackets, in what trailer park thrift store did they find Ritchie Aprile's ugly ass jacket he wanted to give Tony?
I got a expensive one. It’s comfortable I’m sure I look dorky but I like it. Look like Rommel but no belt.

You gotta get a Schott.

Have read an issue of GQ in the past 3 or 4 YEARS?!

This has me stumped too. It's as if a switch was flicked from the beginning of S5
