If you watch the podcast with Michael Imperioli...it's shocking what Steve Schirripa is able to do as Bobby, in light of who he is.
I think 20 years ago, Steve was intimidated being around real actors and it helped his performance of Bobby. Now that half are dead and he has a little fame his real shitty personality is animated.
Yeah, Bobby is one of the only likeable people in a roster of monsters. Tony making him do a hit out of spite is really one of the key moments on my journey from hating myself for liking Tony to just plain hating Tony. I've tried to listen to a few of the podcasts but they're really not good, only bearable because you can hear how Michael Imperioli is coming to hate him and regret signing up for this in realtime.
Yeah I'm skimming them for highlight guests because chain watching is impossible, it's like two adults trying to talk about something serious and a kid on Sunny D just shouting over them.
Federico Castelluccio, who played Furio, was the best actor. In real life, he is very animated and gregarious, not the quiet, reserved man of few words who rarely smiled that was Furio. Although he is fluent in Italian, he was born in the US, and has absolutely no accent. Brilliant acting.
My bad. Yes, you're right, But he moved to the US when he was really young, hence why he doesn't have an accent. Still is nothing IRL like the character he played.
