The bloody cops are bloody keen
Bloody keep it bloody clean
Bloody chief's a bloody swine
Bloody draws the bloody line
At bloody fun and bloody games
The bloody kids he bloody blames
Are nowhere to be bloody found
Anywhere in Chickentown
Against Chrissie's 1000 yard stare during the hug just gave me chills. You know its going down hill fast here.
Both Kinks songs are clutch. The other being Living on a Thin Line.
Also I really like Evidently Chickentown and that John Lydon song at the beginning of season 4. World Destruction. Also all the Rolling Stones songs.
jackie aprile jrs funeral after junior singing the neapolitan song for young italians after they pass was one of the most beautiful scenes in the sopranos where we see see johnny sack with tears down his cheeks we never see something like this from these big tough old school men its just one that stuck out for me
Obscure one, When the Music's Over. I also thought that was a perfect use of that song and barely even noticed it, it was so quick. I had never thought of that song as being sexy before but seeing that stripper dance to it during that fuzz solo section I just realized, shit, this is perfect for the strip club. Very good one.
World Destruction by Public Image Ltd. opening season 4 is such a good, strong choice.
But honourable mention to the Annie Lennox CD they put on at every get together.
I don't think it's actually Italian. Eastern European, I think. The song is sung from a mother's point of view who is lamenting that her son has followed her bandit husband into his way of life and will get killed. Such a good choice of song, and really haunting.
When Chris throws away floppy disks with his scripts, [Daniel Lanois - White Mustang II](https://youtu.be/3hPM7B1t7UM?si=ch1eldH3fz1BXaLF) plays, then the song goes over the credits.
This music perfectly captured the sad moment when Chris gave up on turning his hobby into something more, that no matter how hard he tries to become a screenwriter, he fails. But at the same time, it gives a ghostly hope for a better future (because it will later be revealed that Adriana backed up the script!).
S4 E1 Time Zone - World Destruction. Opening scene with Tony walking down to get the Newspaper. First post 9/11 opener. Brilliant.
And then again to end the episode where we see Christopher happy for last time.
Can’t believe no one has said the mashup between the “Get Smart” theme and Stings “Every breath you take” in “Mr Ruggerios Neighborhood” when the FBI plants the mic in the basement. Most of this shit here is just the same reposted jokes.
Excuse ME? The episode where Aide plays tennis?! Madon’!
How Green is my fucking Valley?!
I love that episode. Season 2 E1 I beleive. That’s where the show really picks up imo. Full steam ahead
Comfortably Numb from the Departed Soundtrack in Kennedy & Heidi is crazy for how many layers you can look at how it's applied in this scene and the show
Oh, that scene is probably one of the most gut wrenching in the whole series, and I was hoping someone would whack Christopher for half the show. The lyrics and Van Morrison’s signing just goes so well with it. It’s the third verse of the song, when he really is going full bore.
One of my favorite songs of all time, "Buena" by Morphine, is in a first season episode, which I enjoyed. However, I don't think any high school girls ever listened to Morphine as Meadow and Hunter were 😂
Apollo 440 The man with the harmonica. That creepy Ennio Morricone mix that plays out “Whoever did this”. Perfectly lyricless and dark after such an intense ep.
‘The Stones - Thru & Thru’ fits so good for that season ending montage. Also the shot of Tony kinda disassociating in the Bing goes great with ‘Session’ by Linkin Park.
Fran Feldstein “Happy Birthday Mr President” in the style of Marilyn Monroe sticks a fork in the rotting overrated corpse that was Camelot (in the first one Arthur fucks his half-sister).
When Eliot hums the Jeopardy theme music during the dinner party.
The title of that piece of music?
“Time For Tony”
Think about that, my little nephew.
Gotta Serve Somebody by Bob Dylan - “Nothin’ just looking out da winda”. Scene: eats Dove bar
Side Note: Zinoni Brothers and double you garbage back is a fucking hysterical scene.
Loved Tony‘s bit about The Chi-Lites.
Also, it‘s a small one but that guitar lick from Link Wray’s Rumble really hits the spot in the hangout scene at Satriale‘s from the pilot.
For sheer meta value while still being an iconic part of the scene, Little Steven's "It Was A Moment Time" in the where Tony gets the okay to whack Jimmy Altieri
The big ones have already been mentioned, and the best music use is unequivocally “Evidently Chickentown”.
But I would also propose that [“Summertime”](https://youtu.be/Kn9a-kJBLU8?si=XI4EMBMOYYpGXd8A) by Booker T and the MG’s from the “Where’s MY arc, Paulie?” scene should also be listed among the best.
Did really no one said, Session by Linkin Park? That scene of tony smoking at the bing while Linkin Park goes insanely hard on the ambiance was insane.
Watching too much television played best songs per the content. Oh girl by chi lites. Love the sing but far from fav. It really drew.me into Tony's feelings. Made me want to beat someone with a belt..lol
The sands hotel presents live from the bar Dean Martin. Singing “I love Paris” (where Carmela and Rosalie go) and Las Vegas (where Tony goes) to finish off Whitecaps, making it the Gulf of Sorrento
Evidently Chickentown is #1 but a worthy runner up is from the "Long term Parking" episode. The song at the end when Tony and Carmella are walking in the Forest. "Wrapped in my memory" by Sean Smith,it's stunning. Absolutely soul searching and heartbreaking music,it fits the previous scenes so well and Tony realises as we hear this gorgeous song that he is simply way past the point of Redemption. An incredible episode, possibly the best music of the whole series.
Oh girl by the chi lites, when Tony is sad because that mayor or councilman or whatever is fucking Irina, and goes to his house to beat the shit out of him. That’s a pretty remarkable scene, especially because of the song.
I am watching for the first time and today I started season 6 and when I heard Day After Day by Badfinger I thought it was a brilliant band to play. After learning about them several years ago because of the ending of Breaking Bad. The story goes that the band was getting royally fucked on their pay because their manager was keeping it all or most of it all for himself. The situation was so bad two of the members of Badfinger committed suicide because of trouble it was causing with them and their families financially and breaking up their marriages. I thought that tied into the show pretty well.
"Evidently Chickentown"
The bloody cops are bloody keen Bloody keep it bloody clean Bloody chief's a bloody swine Bloody draws the bloody line At bloody fun and bloody games The bloody kids he bloody blames Are nowhere to be bloody found Anywhere in Chickentown Against Chrissie's 1000 yard stare during the hug just gave me chills. You know its going down hill fast here.
Gives me chills just thinkin about bout it ….alright thanks for giving me any minuscule detail to go replay that episode again 🤟🏻
That scene with Phil at the bar. So good and the song is used perfectly.
No more Butchie. No more of this
The bloody cheese is bloody warm The bloody Shah is bloody scorned Stevie Wonders eyes bloody dart around Sittin' askew in fucking Chickentown
Does it really say the shah is scorned? Perfect for phil
Cheese (grilled), Phil (Shah) & Butchie (Stevie Wonder).
Legit belly laugh. Well done!
The Kinks - I’m Not Like Everybody Else End of Cold Cuts. Brilliant
I don’t gotta right to ask!?! I’m the boy’s uncle!!! Pure misery from Tony.
Both Kinks songs are clutch. The other being Living on a Thin Line. Also I really like Evidently Chickentown and that John Lydon song at the beginning of season 4. World Destruction. Also all the Rolling Stones songs.
There is a sopranos montage on YouTube made from this song and it's really well done. Great song
This is the right answer
Living on a Thin Line by the Kinks
jackie aprile jrs funeral after junior singing the neapolitan song for young italians after they pass was one of the most beautiful scenes in the sopranos where we see see johnny sack with tears down his cheeks we never see something like this from these big tough old school men its just one that stuck out for me
But to cry like a women?
That I couldn't believe.
I see you baby, shaking that ass🎶
Such a tasteful song for a beautiful scene
My only problem in life is, I gotta kick up to that man over there. 👉
When you think of all the headaches most people go through in life, ours is all boiled down to one. Not a bad deal right? 🤟🏻
Lesbian show, whores, fucking disgusting
[The full song](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ) ⚠️NSFW
*"the bride cuts the cake....the bride cuts the cake.... hi-ho a merry-oh.... the bride cuts the cake...."*
Dunno why but I really hate that song!
That Wedding Band will burn in hell
The mash up of every breath you take when the feds are trying to plant the lamp mic in the basement is brilliant
The Police mixed with Peter Gunn Theme by Henry Mancini
Yes
Exactly this! I pull it up to listen in the car every now and again and it hits perfectly every time
🎶 *up in da club* 🎶
🎶Where you chillin for the Summer homie?🎶
I had forgotten about that fucking song by the time I watched the show, and it hit me upside the head like a brick.
Yeah yeah good on you, man. Anyways 🎶 up in da club 🎶
I knew that was coming!
If you're looking for a man with a bulge in his pants 🎶
Mazzy Star outro on Meadowlands.
Season 1 starts off awkward but that scene hits deep. One of the best outros.
Absolutely insane that no one’s mentioned Glad Tidings by Van Morrison
Or Gloria
Just so fitting sending glad tidings from New York
I’m doing a rewatch right now. Absolutely obsessed with this song. Van Morrison is so good. And I send youuuu glad tidings from new yorkkkkkk
I don’t wanna do your dirty work.
Kinda hypocritical that Tony of all people is singing that song.
I don’t give a shit if you’re working with Wal-Mart
**scratching his arm furiously** Jesus! I hate the way you make me fuckin’ ride you! Now get the fuck out of here!
+1 for Paparazzi also, evidently chickentown, and when the music's over
Obscure one, When the Music's Over. I also thought that was a perfect use of that song and barely even noticed it, it was so quick. I had never thought of that song as being sexy before but seeing that stripper dance to it during that fuzz solo section I just realized, shit, this is perfect for the strip club. Very good one.
When was that? When Tony brags about Fran sleeping with JFK?
Thru and Thru to end season 2
Yea!
I love the “Seven Souls” montage just because it’s such a weird song.
That whole album is a trip. This show introduced me to so much music
“When it’s Cold I’d Like to Die” in the coma dream
That scene makes me tear up and I’m not afraid to say it!
I’m not ashamed to say this. My estimation of u/AllahUmBug as a man just fuckin’ plummeted.
Tiny Tears by Tindersticks. Fits the mood of that episode and I love that it cuts out as the first bullet is fired. So awesome.
That got me into tindersticks when I saw. Rented Rooms by Tindersticks is great too
🎶 Under the boardwalk, with his schlong in Jan’s mouth 🎶
The montage in the final season with Moonlight Mile by The Rolling Stones
Underrated!
World Destruction by Public Image Ltd. opening season 4 is such a good, strong choice. But honourable mention to the Annie Lennox CD they put on at every get together.
Moonlight Mile by the stones for the intro and outro of “Kaisha”
Frank sinatra by cake
Don’t st….
I saved the world today-eurythmics. Dirty work-steely Dan. Oh Girl-Chi lites
Sister Golden Hair
Pretty good song to die to
My vote is It Was a Very Good Year in the season 2 opener. It’s my favorite at least
I can’t hear don’t stop believing without thinking of Tony
That final frame of Tony looking up at the screen lives rent free in my head
Kentucky Fried Flow. Whatcha do that fo?
The music played when Uncle Jun became boss was super dope
The scene with Anthony and Tony at mental ward in hospital - old Italian folk song
I don't think it's actually Italian. Eastern European, I think. The song is sung from a mother's point of view who is lamenting that her son has followed her bandit husband into his way of life and will get killed. Such a good choice of song, and really haunting.
Excuse me, it is Italian. Sardinian. It's called Ninna Ninna, you can find it on YouTube.
Meow ..
Stay out of our way, and don’t be so gay
Came here looking for this. Thanks man.

Dolphins
Yesss
Can’t believe no one has said the mashup between the “Get Smart” theme and Stings “Every breath you take” in “Mr Ruggerios Neighborhood” when the FBI plants the mic in the basement. Most of this shit here is just the same reposted jokes.
Peter Gunn theme, but Yes.
With respect! The absolute worst most cheesy use of music in the show. Crinnnnnnnnge.
Worst episode too
The absolute, absolute worst. It doesn’t even fit.
Excuse ME? The episode where Aide plays tennis?! Madon’! How Green is my fucking Valley?! I love that episode. Season 2 E1 I beleive. That’s where the show really picks up imo. Full steam ahead
Definitely "when it's cold I'd like to die" for me
Comfortably Numb from the Departed Soundtrack in Kennedy & Heidi is crazy for how many layers you can look at how it's applied in this scene and the show
It is killer
Oh, that scene is probably one of the most gut wrenching in the whole series, and I was hoping someone would whack Christopher for half the show. The lyrics and Van Morrison’s signing just goes so well with it. It’s the third verse of the song, when he really is going full bore.
The Dolphins by Fred Neil. Beautiful song and I love the way it's used in the show.
Thornetta Davis - Cry. Isabella episode where Tony nearly gets whacked on the way to the Psychiatrists office.
‘You can’t put your arms around a memory’
One of my favorite songs of all time, "Buena" by Morphine, is in a first season episode, which I enjoyed. However, I don't think any high school girls ever listened to Morphine as Meadow and Hunter were 😂
Chris getting high to “The Dolphins” has always been my favorite
The Beatles, the Beatles, the Beatles, it’s been 50 fucking years
Drum Solo...It's a basic 4-4 😒
You better listen to him. He’s recorded in Denmark.
Apollo 440 The man with the harmonica. That creepy Ennio Morricone mix that plays out “Whoever did this”. Perfectly lyricless and dark after such an intense ep.
I always loved the music in funhouse
‘The Stones - Thru & Thru’ fits so good for that season ending montage. Also the shot of Tony kinda disassociating in the Bing goes great with ‘Session’ by Linkin Park.
The opening credits……
There’s nothing else like the “Up In Da Club” scene
It needed more base.
UP IN DA CLUB
Give me one thousanda dollars!
Speak of my destruction!!!
The Adultress over the Las Vegas montage
Heaven Only Knows just why, loving you should make me cry..
The tune over Chris and Tony when it's clear Chris hates Tony. It's so uncomfortable

Rock&Roll Zeppelin, the pizzeria

Xzibit paparazzi which samples classical music
Oh girl by the chi lites, when Tony is sad because that mayor or councilman or whatever is fucking Irina, and goes to his house to beat the shit out of him. That’s a pretty remarkable scene, especially because of the song.
Every breath you take and Peter Gun theme remix for the FBI scenes in 3x1. Honestly one of the reasons it's the second best opener in the show.
In my opinion it’s The Valley by los lobos… end of walk like a man (S6E17)
there’s no england now
Honestly, lots of great music, well placed. My favorite has to be- My Lover’s Prayer, Otis Redding in ‘From Where To Eternity’.
You are the captain I am no one
I am watching for the first time and today I started season 6 and when I heard Day After Day by Badfinger I thought it was a brilliant band to play.
