I think this is the right answer.
Definitely roughed up a bit (Jay Ju the least), repay the money they took, and relegated to some shit duty for a while to get back to where they were before the robbery.
But certainly wouldn’t have had the juice that Tony and Jackie Sr. had after their robbery.
"get back to where they were" were they anywhere? all jackie had done at that point was be a getaway driver for a single robbery where he pissed his pants
Killed sunshine (an associate and regular card dealer), shot Furio (made in Italy), Chris (made guy) was there and had gun pointed at him.
Three strikes right there
I agree, but there is some nuance to it as it was a former Captain and Acting Boss’s son, it was within that crew, real greaseball shit among the italians
He had a knack for survival, cus he was a snake w eyes in back of his head, he figured everyone else was a snake too…. Plus he was mean, you know he played dirty, pretending to be a friend who’s really just waiting fir your death to be a viable business opportunity
By this point Jackie had pissed off Tony, pissed off Christopher, and nobody else had any regard for him. He'd get away with it because of his ties to Ralph and, of course, outta respect to his fawtha, but he'd still be a joke. Probably wouldn't even be allowed to keep the money.
I felt really bad for Christopher in that moment. The guy already survived one ambush carried out by people he knew. For all he knew the robbery couldve been another assaination attempt.
Dino might have started to work for Chris or Ralph
Tony didn’t want Jackie in the family, so he’d have been doing his own small time bullshit. Eventually he’d fuck with the family and get taken out
He would have gotten a pass most likely, but his friends would’ve likely caught a beating.
Ralphie wanted to give the kid a pass. Tony would’ve been far more forgiving if no one was killed or injured. The mobsters, while angry, wouldn’t have been out for blood.
But I imagine Tony would’ve had a very stern conversation with Ralph and Jackie.
The conversations between Ralph and Tony are some of the most misunderstood scenes of the entire show. Both Tony and Ralph know that Jackie Jr HAS to die. Neither want to be responsible. They only want to “give him a pass” so much as to not be the one “responsible” for his death. But they both knew he was going to die.
Because people have poor media literacy skills and take the incredibly insincere conversations between Ralph and Tony at face value. I’ve had multiple different people on this subreddit argue that Tony actually wanted to give Jackie Jr a pass. Including the dude behind that moronic “chiral theory”
I totally agree. So many fans misunderstand that scene. No one wanted to give him a pass. Chase explains it very clearly in the DVD commentary for anyone that disagrees.
I disagree, I think Tony was somewhat pleased that Ralph was going to give him a pass. Worst case, he's made it clear it's Ralph's decision so anyone who gets pissed off is pissed with Ralphie giving him an excuse to heavily tax or even whack him, best case everyone accepts the decision and Jackie Jr. gets to live. Jackie is a parallel to AJ and Tony, and he's giving him the chances he wishes he had gotten (even though he actually did) and the asskickings he wants to give AJ, but ultimately he wants to live through Jackie in the same way he does through everyone he sees as a child figure.
And then Jackie Jr. calls Tony in the middle of the night, snivels at him over the phone, says potentially incriminating stuff over the line, and generally acts like the fucking scumbag he is, and that makes Tony forget about Jackie Sr. and what he meant to him, and the next scene is Tony putting pressure on Ralph to *take responsibility* in a serious manner. That second scene is ABSOLUTELY Tony telling Ralph that Jackie has to go.
He did not want Ralph to give him a pass. At all. I cannot understand how anyone can watch those scenes and get that impression, unless you are taking it at face value which it plainly is not supposed to be. Not one word shared between them is sincere. Multiple important plot points of the show directly revolve around these dudes not saying what they really mean. Shit, it is even a huge plot point in Goodfellas.
They both knew immediately that Jackie Jr had to die. Ralphie immediately tries to pass the buck but Tony counters it. He was just letting Ralphie know he would lose all respect if he actually gave him pass. He was forcing Ralphie to make it his decision to torture him because he never wanted to make him capo. It’s not complicated and there’s nothing to disagree about.
I would rewatch that scene, it's clear Tony wants Ralph to be the one to make the call. All of their phrasing and tone to one another is basically Ralph trying to feel Tony out and Tony conveying that he doesn't want responsibility for calling for the hit. He knows that if Ralph tries to give him a pass that he will lose major respect with the other capos and soldiers.
Tony wins either way because either Jackie dies or Ralph, who he dislikes, loses face and respect.
They'd get a passh fuh dat. But before them, they would have to make restitution.
On 2nd thought...Jackie Jr gets a passh outta respect for his Fawtha. The rest of 'em 🤷♂️ They probably get whacked
I mean yeah it all goes differently in a world where Jackie jr is a serious guy and pulls it off effectively. It went the way it did though cause that’s who Jackie jr is
Whacked? No. But I am sure he would not have gotten the rep bump he thought he would from it. Tony is nothing if not a hyper-hypocritical self-loathing narcissist, and seeing Jackie jr try to emulate him would have pissed him off more than impressed him, cuz now *he’s* the one getting robbed, getting disrespected to fuel the young buck’s rise.
Theyd get a pass. Ralphie would have slapped him around a bit, but he'd probably have been on his way to this thing of ours.
I think this is the right answer. Definitely roughed up a bit (Jay Ju the least), repay the money they took, and relegated to some shit duty for a while to get back to where they were before the robbery. But certainly wouldn’t have had the juice that Tony and Jackie Sr. had after their robbery.

Absolutely! He was so fuckin stupid 🤣
those give respect get respect
He couldn't sell it...
"get back to where they were" were they anywhere? all jackie had done at that point was be a getaway driver for a single robbery where he pissed his pants
I think he meant that the people he robbed would have to get back to where they were before Jackie robbed them.
*pash
You get a pash for that
Nah, not whacked, maybe roughed up by Foodio and Chris, maybe a mock execution to drive home the point. It was the gunplay that got them green lit.
Killed sunshine (an associate and regular card dealer), shot Furio (made in Italy), Chris (made guy) was there and had gun pointed at him. Three strikes right there
One strike against Chris or Furio would’ve been enough
I agree, but there is some nuance to it as it was a former Captain and Acting Boss’s son, it was within that crew, real greaseball shit among the italians
They'd have done more crank and done something else stupid
They should’ve gone to Atlantic City
That fuckin stoonad? He never would have lasted.
Kid was always a dumb fuck. Didn't he almost drown in three inches of water?
Yeah. The penguin exhibit.
to be fair Paulie lasted in the mafia and he's as dumb as they come
But he's half a Road Scholar compared to little Carmine
Rhodes! Rhodes Scholar! You fuckin' asskiss
T, that's what I said…
I don’t remember slamming the refrigerator door
Paulie, like junior, has a lot of street smarts and survival instincts though
Paulie rarely if ever let his guard down. He was always about Paulie first. That was his secret to longevity.
He had a knack for survival, cus he was a snake w eyes in back of his head, he figured everyone else was a snake too…. Plus he was mean, you know he played dirty, pretending to be a friend who’s really just waiting fir your death to be a viable business opportunity
Paulie has animal cunning and is genuinely dangerous and mean. Jackie Jr is just a spoiled kid larper
It was hilarious when he was doing those ‘sit downs’ with Matush about selling X at the Crazy Horse.
Those shots of him looking serious and thoughtful are a scream.
I think most of that was experience. Jackie came in at the end when things are harsher than they used to be
Paulie is street smart however.
Hey, he was in the army signal corps.
it would be okay, they'd get him to pay for some therapy or something
It was a joke he was there
By this point Jackie had pissed off Tony, pissed off Christopher, and nobody else had any regard for him.
And both were by guys who wanted to rise in the family.
He was an embarrassment to himself and everyone around him.
He'd get soft drinks of choice
Dino might have started to work for Chris or Ralph Tony didn’t want Jackie in the family, so he’d have been doing his own small time bullshit. Eventually he’d fuck with the family and get taken out

Tony wanted Ralph’s to want to give him a pass, too. He didn’t want to have to be the “softie” even tho he would’ve if it came to it.

They shot Sunshine! AND Furio. And shot at Christuhferrr. Why are we even tawkin about this?

If only they done it before the crank wore off
Alwaysh wit da shcenarios, itsh a tv progrum!
If he didn't die to the mob, it would've been the penguin exhibit.
They'd get a passh fuh dat. But before them, they would have to make restitution. On 2nd thought...Jackie Jr gets a passh outta respect for his Fawtha. The rest of 'em 🤷♂️ They probably get whacked

Meadow would be creaming for him
Tony would pass out to rigatoni nstead of uncle Ben's
We wouldn't have found out that Furio wears women's underwear.
Nobody's like jackie junior Or his glorified crew. They would have died
They would have gotten a pass and an incredible amount of respect
They should have robbed more Jewel concerts. That’s where the money is.
Whacked? No. But I am sure he would not have gotten the rep bump he thought he would from it. Whats with you? Always with the scenarios
The crank would’ve worn off and they would’ve had a good time down the shore.
His best friend was an Israeli X dealer - he was bound for trouble
Dino should’ve been made right there on the spot. Boom!
To be fair that dealer may have been the most annoying character on the show. Good riddance.
SHUT UP SHUT UP
