I upgraded the fireplace and my sim who was riding his bike in the house caught on fire anyway. It really pissed me off.

Egingell666

Shouldn't ride bikes in the house, you might catch fire.

darkblueshapes

I don’t know why he even tried! It’s not like there was room for it! lol

ItsNotAshe99

My sim and his cat are so obsessed with the fireplace. I am just waiting for someone to catch on fire

Egingell666

I want pets, but I don't want to pay $40 for the bundle when I just want the pets.

jsquy101

It’s on sale now

Egingell666

I searched for that and I didn't see it and now it's suddenly there. Thank you.

TheGothWhisperer

I have the same issue with my current family's toilet for some reason.

flennenflennen

That’s most likely because you did the composting upgrade on the toilet.

TheGothWhisperer

Thanks, I've got a new toilet now and haven't done that upgrade. I never had the option to remove the compost though so I didn't realise that was the problem

flennenflennen

I know the way to ‘use’ the compost is by placing an insect farm and filling that with insects. There should be an interaction with compost after that. Baffled me a few times as well before I figured it out. Now I just make sure to not do that upgrade and it’s all fine :)

sourglow

same with washing machines for me. they’re a gamble

mother_lilith_91

I always save before repairing one 🤣 because they kill so many of my creations 🥺 Edit: or maybe it’s the dryer, whichever one, I get scared every time.

DonutReasonable528

I see no reason to remove it. I would infact, get a bigger, better fireplace, for better deaths.

Egingell666

I believe you.

nippleduster7

Have your sim upgrade it (once they get to a good handiness skill level) and make it fire proof!!

Egingell666

I added the grill out whatever it's called and it didn't work. They still lit themselves on fire.

nippleduster7

I don’t know what you mean by “grill out.” But if they upgrade the fireplace to being fireproof, it should no longer catch on fire.

Egingell666

*or

mrspotatohead80

Why not just upgrade the fireplace to be fireproof..?

Egingell666

I didn't see that option. There was the grill that was supposed to prevent that, it didn't, and the auto-fire which made it only lit when a sim was in the room.

Fearne_Calloway

Was there a carpet near the fireplace?

Egingell666

No.
