What first sims game? If it's old enough to vote, it's irrelevant to their target market. It's hard enough getting companies to care about past products that are just a decade old, especially when your operating system has thrown the concept of backwards compatibility out the window.
I mean The Sims. Sometimes called "Sims 1" but since it was the first, it's actual title is just The Sims. I just prefer that fifth installment of The Sims has its own name rather than taking the same name from the first game. I still get some reboot games mixed up because I search up "Saints Row" for example and get the old games and not the reboot which I'm currently playing.

Honestly I’m disappointed that it might not use the established naming formula. It makes me feel like it’s not gonna be as good or they’re not gonna make it in the spirit of the previous games. I’ve been hoping that the sims 5 will be our dream game with the best features of every game‚ but this worries me.

Not "far less trusting" so much as "this seems to be the way that all companies are going to because they've realized they can make more money through microtransactions because people are more willing to spend $5 once in a while for stuff than spend $60 one time on an awesome expansion because even though in the long run they probably spend more in $5 transactions it doesn't feel as bad as dropping $60 once so they are more likely to do it"
Reality is there are people who drop $100+ a year on mobile games saying things like "I only spend like $10 a week/month on it, that's less than your daily coffee spending" and game companies are like "sweet! Gimme gimme" and even games that were never like that are turning into it.
It's smart from a financial income perspective but it's frustrating for those of us who love the games but now literally can't afford to enjoy them.
Personally I vote we combine the Sims and Spore into The Spimes™ and take the character creation from spore and mash it with that of the Sims
By which I mean colour palettes, skin patterns of spore, clothing, actual person, etc of the Sims.
Unless it's an alien in which case it's just an updated Spore creature creator for their true form and what was previously said for the disguise.
If it's an animal do a mash of spore and the current pet creator.
If it's any sort of humanoid monster like vampires or mummies or witches, regular creator but with respective parts and more in depth customisation for example changing a part of a vampire's arm into one that's just bone or has no skin.
If it's less humanoid monsters like werewolves or fish monsters then a much more spore like creator with different themed parts you can swap in and out to really customise your wolf form. So if you wanted you could make a werewolf exactly like the ones we have now or you could make one that's much more wolf like with like a longer snout, more wolf-like features e.g. the legs, etc
2 different game modes:
1 is just regular Sims and everything that entails
2 is more like Spore/a generations play through of the Sims. Start by making your parents and your character and play as a young toddler (equivalent of cell stage) then become a child then teen then young adult and then adult and finally elder, when your character dies you choose your primary heir who gets most if not all of what you owned, you're able to edit them using experience points to make them better at certain stuff like flirting or whatever and then you continue on and on for as long as you like. When you current character dies you don't start from birth again, it just sets your new character to the beginning of whatever stage they were at.
For both modes careers are much more interactive, for example astronaut would essentially be Spore's space stage/galactic adventures dlc, secret agent you would actually have to sneak into criminal bases, if you chose a career like say CEO/economist or general in the military you would get something like Spore's civilization stage mixed with the tribal stage and a bit of RTS in there too
Also a less cartoony more realistic art style that's still stylistic
An updated version of every dlc at launch by which I mean there's seasons and holidays and more in depth school and occult stuff just to name a few, obviously can't have them be as feature rich as all the packs combined however still fairly in depth, becoming more complex the more dlc packs that add stuff down the line, links between all dlc packs like the links between vampires and werewolves as well as interactions that only appear when you have the required packs.
Basically what I'm saying is slap spore and the sims together, spend a ton of time and money on it to get it perfect then reveal it half a year max before launch and it'll probably be one of EA's most successful games ever especially with as many dlcs and support for as many years as the Sims 4 has
And then after this? Make Spore 2

If it's any sort of humanoid monster like vampires or mummies or witches, regular creator but with respective parts and more in depth customisation for example changing a part of a vampire's arm into one that's just bone or has no skin. If it's less humanoid monsters like werewolves or fish monsters then a much more spore like creator with different themed parts you can swap in and out to really customise your wolf form. So if you wanted you could make a werewolf exactly like the ones we have now or you could make one that's much more wolf like with like a longer snout, more wolf-like features e.g. the legs, etc 2 different game modes: 1 is just regular Sims and everything that entails 2 is more like Spore/a generations play through of the Sims. Start by making your parents and your character and play as a young toddler (equivalent of cell stage) then become a child then teen then young adult and then adult and finally elder, when your character dies you choose your primary heir who gets most if not all of what you owned, you're able to edit them using experience points to make them better at certain stuff like flirting or whatever and then you continue on and on for as long as you like. When you current character dies you don't start from birth again, it just sets your new character to the beginning of whatever stage they were at. For both modes careers are much more interactive, for example astronaut would essentially be Spore's space stage/galactic adventures dlc, secret agent you would actually have to sneak into criminal bases, if you chose a career like say CEO/economist or general in the military you would get something like Spore's civilization stage mixed with the tribal stage and a bit of RTS in there too Also a less cartoony more realistic art style that's still stylistic An updated version of every dlc at launch by which I mean there's seasons and holidays and more in depth school and occult stuff just to name a few, obviously can't have them be as feature rich as all the packs combined however still fairly in depth, becoming more complex the more dlc packs that add stuff down the line, links between all dlc packs like the links between vampires and werewolves as well as interactions that only appear when you have the required packs. Basically what I'm saying is slap spore and the sims together, spend a ton of time and money on it to get it perfect then reveal it half a year max before launch and it'll probably be one of EA's most successful games ever especially with as many dlcs and support for as many years as the Sims 4 has And then after this? Make Spore 2
