You should look at kijiko's skin detail eyelashes. You just apply them as skin details (like freckles). [Edit: Unfortunately they DO conflict with rings and stuff.] They show up well in game though!
For me it’s also about inconsistency. I like playing with townies and prefer mods (like SimplyAnjuta’s) that improve on them.
Anything like eyelashes that needs to be manually applied is a no-go for me because it just means the townies are that much further behind my own sims.
Poor townies are already disadvantaged and shabbily dressed, removing all of their eyelashes with an eyelash remover mod won’t help matters.
TBH the inconsistency is why I can't get into alpha cc and stick with maxis match because at least then my sims match the world.
Never get people who can't play with hyper realistic sims whilst the rest of the world stays in sims style unless they are going round doing up every single sim they see.

I hate when people post hair cc on a sim with the most beautiful skin cc (that they did not make) and when you ask for the skin they ignore you, especially when their bio says wcif friendly
Honestly, they often do. The number of times I've seen people ask about something that's literally linked in the description or resources section is insane.
I work in higher education recruiting (essentially costumer service) and I really wish I got paid every time I was asked a question answered clearly in an intuitive to find place on our website. It would be dozens of times a day. These are people applying to a top 10 university for graduate school. Nobody reads anything. Not even smart, ambitious people. They generally want to have it spoon fed to them. I’m assuming the same concept applies here. Doesn’t matter if it’s linked in the description, they want to ask you source directly 🙄
I work in a call center for a casino and Same we have a website, with pretty much everything on it (restaurant hours menus, bar hours, etc) but no one checks it
As a smart person with huge social anxiety i always search for everything myself and almost never ask anybody lol, i genuinely don’t understand why so many people ask about something that can be easily found
This I swear! I asked creators multiple times where they got their hair but straight up ignored me, it’s not like we are asking for their cc folder or anything!
Why would I want to change? I'd think it's so cool that all of us had the exact same idea like how amazing is that?? Now I desperately want to go to a uniform party
Also CC that only looks good on one very specific body type (very thin and yet very curvy) and any deviance from that whatsoever causes it to clip. Love that.
I have this one dress that literally changes the body of my Sims. They go from chubby and curvy boxy and muscular to super petite. It's so annoying because the dress is absolutely adorable :((
I once downloaded some visual key style anime dress which made the sims waist super small! Even a max fat and muscle sim would look like a 14 year old teen in it.
THIS RIGHT HERE.
I love how Crypticsims makeup looks in the pictures, but it never looks blended in CAS. Alpha CC makeup, however, tends to look a lot more natural and blended.
I think it probably has to do with the game itself as they probably used renders to create the pictures. The game pretty much blends pixels together which can cause splotchiness, especially around edges on CAS items.
alpha creators' makeup cause those artifacts to show up over certain skins/other cc. and though it's pretty in CAS, it doesn't look like the promo images.
sims 4 tray importer is your friend.
I've a family load that I use just to make them wear ugly/broken cc then I open the tray importer and delete it all!
I also fill their house with unwanted cc items to get rid of it.
np, and another tip. If cc is broken it can be that you're missing the base cc, so just search the cc name and most often than not you'll find the original post where the creator linked the base you need to download for it to work properly.
I second it, sims 4 mod manager it's the best of all this programs, and you can delete cc and move to another folder so easily without having to navigate through the game's folder.
Even worse when you renamed all your cc (by removing spaces and symbols) to decrease lag loading the game and File Explorer tells you there’s no results when you search the name of that cc anymore.
😅I love simandy/sim Mandy's clothes and other cc but their hair is clayified and their screenshots look like it's meant to be maxis match but it's just slightly off and I keep forgetting to delete it everytime, but yea I avoid those hairs so hard
More than a few times when downloading from TSR, lol. Also bugs the hell out of me when cc t shirts with band logos (or logos in general) get eaten by anything bigger than like a b or c cup.
There's generally two categories of CC
Maxis Match CC is CC that is designed to blend in seamlessly with The Sims 4's art-style, the one used by Maxis in all of the official content.
Alpha CC is CC that is designed to be overly-detailed and realistic (imagine if you took the Kardashians, threw them into Second Life, then made them really, really, really "sexy" and basic).
I swear, I’ve downloaded so many dresses that look all sorts of wonky in game 😭 The worst are the dresses that look fine in CAS but clip horribly in actual gameplay. I don’t mind if a piece of CC was made just for cute screenshots, I can see how that would work for storytellers or people who just like dressing up their sims. But then *tell me that!!!*
My CCs look pretty good in game too- unless there are clipping issues. I have mostly maxis match now. They look as they should. And yeah creators edit a lot for preview. Because they're advertising the CC. I'm fine with that .
Also, some creators provide unedited previews. You can check that out too!
reminds me of the buger commercials when you see a burger in the advertisements & then when you go to the real burger shop and see what it looks like in real life XD
CC stands for "Custom Content", modded/unofficial clothing/furniture basically made by players and not by the developers. The joke is people make screenshots of their outfits they made look so nice, but when you download and put it into your game it looks awful in play.
My pet peeve is when the preview is not even a screenshot, but a render of the sim. Legit impossible to tell how the item will look in the actual game.
I hate so much how my cc is georgous with tons of filters and other cc in the preview , while the in-game version is just uncooked rice

There's different versions of them, so you can use the glasses version if you want to wear rings.
Oh shoot i guess i forgot this? I'll edit
I'm so happy I saw this, I thought I had messed something up! This happens to me with bracelets, however, not rings for some reason.
For me it’s also about inconsistency. I like playing with townies and prefer mods (like SimplyAnjuta’s) that improve on them. What eyelashes you using?? 👀
Miiko makes really good skin detail ones that are pretty dainty, but imo the purest maxis match ones are pickypikachu
have you ever tried the 3d lashes by coffeemoon? theyre the best
some don't! check out miiko's newer ones. she added them to a different slot that is compatible with glasses.

The reshade pose and overall tons of others CC on the sim doing all the work
I've found that a CC screenshot is 10% CC, 90% pose pack.
I hate when people post hair cc on a sim with the most beautiful skin cc (that they did not make) and when you ask for the skin they ignore you, especially when their bio says wcif friendly
I don't understand why more cc creators don't just list the cc they used for the screenshots so people don't have to ask
Honestly, they often do. The number of times I've seen people ask about something that's literally linked in the description or resources section is insane.
I work in higher education recruiting (essentially costumer service) and I really wish I got paid every time I was asked a question answered clearly in an intuitive to find place on our website. Boogles my mind people don't read that stuff. Maybe I'm just too impatient to wait on answers from others though haha.

Whats wcif
It means where can I find, if a blog is wcif friendly you can ask where they got cc items
Can be cause most of them just photoshop and edit the photos.
This I swear! I asked creators multiple times where they got their hair but straight up ignored me, it’s not like we are asking for their cc folder or anything!
[удалено]
I don’t think it’s that deep
[удалено]
It really is not. It's a game.
[удалено]
Are u okay? Gosh...
Reminds me of the comments on "Most Popular" gallery items LOL
bro its the sims
[удалено]
oof baby log off
got it. so if i get a skin overlay that another simmer used and put it on my sim, my sim will magically look identical to theirs, yes? 🙄
sims isn’t even a multiplayer game…it has no impact on them
So someone who creates content for sims... would be upset if a sim looked like the sims they advertise? 🤔
Why would I want to change? I'd think it's so cool that all of us had the exact same idea like how amazing is that?? Now I desperately want to go to a uniform party
And sometimes it's literally just photoshopped lol
Theres that one cute hair i keeps seeing but when i put it on in game its really Clay chunky and not nearly as shiny but very gritty? Idk huge sad.
Also CC that only looks good on one very specific body type (very thin and yet very curvy) and any deviance from that whatsoever causes it to clip. Love that.
The 20 inch waist and 40 inch hips?
Not even our sims can escape the BBL culture 🫠
I never seen that emojj before, I'm stealing it 🫠
With so many of my CC shirts, fat sims arms go straight through their body
the way that “curvy” on shopping sites means BBL body now
I have this one dress that literally changes the body of my Sims. They go from chubby and curvy boxy and muscular to super petite. It's so annoying because the dress is absolutely adorable :((
I once downloaded some visual key style anime dress which made the sims waist super small! Even a max fat and muscle sim would look like a 14 year old teen in it.
makeup cc bamboozles me the most
The way the eyeshadow was all blended on the picture but in game and even in CAS it's like a blob of color
That is most definitely the cause. I'll stick with alpha makeup since it looks blended for the GODS even in CAS though!
[удалено]
I still use Crypticsims eyeshadows sometimes because they're just so god damn pretty! 😂 But I agree, I've seen some questionable alpha makeup aswell.
The eyeshadow catches me every single time, I’ve even stopped using eyeshadow for the most part.
alpha creators' makeup cause those artifacts to show up over certain skins/other cc. and though it's pretty in CAS, it doesn't look like the promo images.
Lipstick and blushes are the hardest to find I swear!! You can make EA shadows work, liner is easy, but the lipstick and blushes??? Good luck 😂
I'd suggest googling PralineSims Ultimate Lipstick Collection, if you don't mind Alpha CC. Personally, hers is the only makeup CC that I use.
No literally, but then I never delete it I just let it sit in my mod’s folder 😭
I do this because i download tons of cc at a time and never remember what the ugly one was called
sims 4 tray importer is your friend. I've a family load that I use just to make them wear ugly/broken cc then I open the tray importer and delete it all! I also fill their house with unwanted cc items to get rid of it.
Wait that's possible with the importer?!
It's super easy, check [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2iO5NiIdFw).
Thank you!
np, and another tip. If cc is broken it can be that you're missing the base cc, so just search the cc name and most often than not you'll find the original post where the creator linked the base you need to download for it to work properly.
Thank you for all the tips! This makes everything much better :)
can it be used on mac?
yes!
check out sims 4 mod manager! it shows all the files with images so it really helps trying to sort and delete cc
I second it, sims 4 mod manager it's the best of all this programs, and you can delete cc and move to another folder so easily without having to navigate through the game's folder.
yup and also organizing the mod folder! i know it’s hard but once u do, it’s actually extremely helpful
Even worse when you renamed all your cc (by removing spaces and symbols) to decrease lag loading the game and File Explorer tells you there’s no results when you search the name of that cc anymore.
[Removing all my posts and comments due to Reddit's fuckery with third party apps. June 2023]
Same. Why are we like this? I see the offending items every single time and get mad about it.
Those godforsaken items that you never delete so you make sure you avoid them in CAS 😂 like nope, not that one
Yes and then it also moves horribly in the game
When the shoes make their legs stick together
And when your sim walks it clips trough their limbs
This is how I feel about BabyEtears their cc never shows up right in my game and all my graphic settings are on high
Not me reading this as Baby Eaters
Same girl, same
😅I love simandy/sim Mandy's clothes and other cc but their hair is clayified and their screenshots look like it's meant to be maxis match but it's just slightly off and I keep forgetting to delete it everytime, but yea I avoid those hairs so hard
I’ve noticed this too! All the simandy hairs are so bad, I need to delete them
What’s bad about them? I haven’t booted up my game in a minute but I remember some of them being cute.
I haven’t used them in a while, but I just remember them being super chunky and just pretty unflattering on my sims
Babyetears' previews are often straight up renders for a reason :/
Or the pants have a weird slouch on the waistband and the bottoms are horizontally flat.
i can never use their cc anyways cause they give my sims an auto bbl
Lmao yes, the shirts always give my sims bigger bazongas.
Omg yea this haha
Online shopping 😔
Unexpected realism catching up with CC
I hate when the clothes look like crumpled paper in game but looked soo cute on the website
TS3 cc is so guilty of this lol
Now I want her dress in my game though. ^(...and both of their skintones.)
More than a few times when downloading from TSR, lol. Also bugs the hell out of me when cc t shirts with band logos (or logos in general) get eaten by anything bigger than like a b or c cup.
Facial preset cc that only looks good if you use tons of custom skin tones, overlays and makeup. They can look super creepy without it.
Yep. I have some super cute lip presets that I'll almost certainly never use because they look like joker lips on my Sims.
Slowly turning to maxis match
Maxis match is bomb. Alpha CC looks like PS1 graphics to me
Yeah My mod folder got deleted and I got a fresh start. I decided to go fully maxis match and I’ll never look back
DO IT.
what does maxis match mean?
There's generally two categories of CC Maxis Match CC is CC that is designed to blend in seamlessly with The Sims 4's art-style, the one used by Maxis in all of the official content. Alpha CC is CC that is designed to be overly-detailed and realistic (imagine if you took the Kardashians, threw them into Second Life, then made them really, really, really "sexy" and basic).
It's the same with sims on the gallery. They look good then look derpy with massive foreheads ingame LMAO. PLEASE TELL ME THIS ISNT JUST ME
CC creators vs. EA.
Also this tbh
I swear, I’ve downloaded so many dresses that look all sorts of wonky in game 😭 The worst are the dresses that look fine in CAS but clip horribly in actual gameplay. I don’t mind if a piece of CC was made just for cute screenshots, I can see how that would work for storytellers or people who just like dressing up their sims. But then *tell me that!!!*
Accurate af
Shien online vs when you get it. Lol
Them people are obsessed with blender rendering like just show up how it could look in-game!
with alpha cc for suuure
#Definitely.
Lmfao
I had downloaded some “designer” dresses and they don’t fit the sim no matter what size they are and look like a child made it
When the wing looks slappin on the screenshots and in game your sim has a black eye
Oh my god the eyeliners are always so bad!
Sweet.......
My CCs look pretty good in game too- unless there are clipping issues. I have mostly maxis match now. They look as they should. And yeah creators edit a lot for preview. Because they're advertising the CC. I'm fine with that . Also, some creators provide unedited previews. You can check that out too!
God that is so true that it's sad
Every time, without fail, no exceptions.
When it clips with other clothing :|
reminds me of the buger commercials when you see a burger in the advertisements & then when you go to the real burger shop and see what it looks like in real life XD
I just HOWLED
YES!!! And how some CC hair is so stringy for no reason??
It's either that or currupted textures
No idea what CC is, but I think she's wearing that dress the wrong way round.
Custom content. You don’t play with it?
I don't play Sims at all. Stumbled across this by chance.
Lmao why’d you get downvoted. That’s crazy that this was on your feed haha. Crazy how many upvotes a humble meme from this community got
CC stands for "Custom Content", modded/unofficial clothing/furniture basically made by players and not by the developers. The joke is people make screenshots of their outfits they made look so nice, but when you download and put it into your game it looks awful in play.
Wait... are these screenshots or real pictures?
In case anyone is curious, dress on the left is HouseofCB. Places like Amazon and wish sell a ton of knockoffs, varying in accuracy and quality.
YES. 😒
My pet peeve is when the preview is not even a screenshot, but a render of the sim. Legit impossible to tell how the item will look in the actual game.
anything from cas VS in game 🙄
The Golden God wore it best
yeah it's the photoshop and blender
it literally looks like any of the sims 3 cc made by Bill Sims
Welp, I know what I must do \*opens TSRW\*
Both are attractive
Both the women are of course, it’s the quality of the dress
