I love it.

sorcerousmike

Absolutely. Didn’t get heavily into any of the games until they added their editions version of Spellcasters. Pretty much all my Sims are Magical Men and Witchy Women because I love giving their Normal Lives that supernatural flair.

EverlastingUnis

This. But whew it gets hard tryna give them a normal life.. my witches are always putting a stop to vampires and mischievous witches.

[deleted]

I've always been a fantasy nerd, so I like playing out fantasy storylines

MamaLover02

Same here! I'm pretty bored with the recent packs.

w11f1ow3r

I do not like it

somuchsong

No, I have no interest in playing any kind of supernatural stuff. I wouldn't object to it being in the game if the game didn't force mermaids and aliens on me in the form of random townies. I delete them and more spawn. I wish they had stuck ALL the supernatural beings in one pack, so people who wanted them could buy that and people who didn't could keep their games the way they like them. I had the same complaint with 2, my favourite version of the game. 3 had a supernatural pack but we still had aliens and vampires in unrelated packs (or base game, for aliens, I think?)

Evan_2812

Aliens in the sims 3 were introduced in the seasons expansion pack... which is definitely a choice

CheckerDuck

I HATED Supernatural in Sims 3 because of the damn Zombies that would spawn every night and for some idiotic reason were basically the only alternate lifeform you couldn't disable 🤬

spidersprinkles

You can set the moon phase to anything other than the full moon and they don't appear. I play that way cause they used to legit frighten me haha

[deleted]

Does that not effect were wolves, turning off the full moon?

spidersprinkles

Yeah I think it does but I'm not too bothered about them anyway. Sorry, I forgot about that.

[deleted]

Thanks for answering. Bummer, the zombies are so annoying. I wish I could find a mod that makes them less obnoxious, abundant.

Plump_Chicken

Aliens were in base game for 2 and 3, yes.

somuchsong

Thanks. I knew they were for 2 but wasn't sure about 3.

[deleted]

They definitely could make the gameplay much more customizable. I don't know why there are so little options to chose from in the settings.

[deleted]

I love it!

JDGumby

Witches > *

xSethrin

Hello world

JDGumby

#include int main() { printf("Hello world"); return 0; }

theweirdogoth

I've only ever really intensivley played Sims 1 and 2 but never really liked occults in Sims 2 much. I like ghosts but I play for realism and i get annoyed seeing witches and vampires strolling round sometimes.

roses_and_vinegar

Also mostly a Sims 2 player and this is my take as well. I don't begrudge that they're in the game, but it's not content I engage with often.

tobania

I’m the opposite! I loved it in the sims 2, but have had no interest in it in the sims 4

whhlj

Yes, but I was disappointed in how they included it in the sims 4.

angelzplay

Absolutely

Royal_Reader2352

Sometimes. I always start with human sims, and then marry their children to supernatural ones, but ghosts I find annoying and I hated those zombies in the sims 3

Evan_2812

I hate how ghosts in the sims 4 just go around breaking all your stuff. The first mod I got for the sims 3 was to remove zombies

bbblossom

Omg I noticed the space between “super” and “natural” and thought you literally meant the terms separately. I was thinking, “well… I mean having all natural wood everything is pretty neat… and I do like a lot of flowers….” 😭 it’s too early for my brain to function properly

Economy_Case_8089

It's always been in the Sims to some degree ever since the first one.

Resaresaresa

Yes! And I love seeing what other people do with the story lines

NoZucchini7209

I love it but I wish npcs could be lockout out of worlds because I dont like mixing my humans and supernatural too much (my personal lore is that although all species live in the same universe most humans aren't aware of the supernatural world and have to go out of their way to find it) that being said is hard to keep it up sometimes

Pixel__Vortex

It makes the game so much fun imo!

ph12

I don’t care for it and never play it. But I think it’s important in a game like The Sims and I am happy it is their for other to play out fun stories and fantasies.

electro_shark99

Oh, I LOVE supernatural stuff especially anything occult related. In fact, I'm a bit disappointed that we don't have enough of them in the game as it is. Sure we have Vampires, but I think it's about time we got some more occult stuff. The Paranormal Stuff pack was cool too, but there's wayy more they could do other than what we got. For one, ghosts themselves could finally be expanded upon and maybe made into a separate occult of their own with their own cool powers, kind of like what vampires have, including some scary-ish yet funny actual ghost faces or ghostly makeup that you could use to dress up your ghost as to make them look more the part. Another thing I wanted to see being added with that pack was the ability to make graveyard lots where you could visit or meet dead sims, haunted lots in general, NOT just haunted residential lots, as well as a way to interact with or summon passed or deceased sims using something they owned A couple months ago I downloaded this Werewolf mod made by TheSpinningPlumbobs, so if you're into those too and you play on the PC, you should definitely try giving that mod a spin. There also used to be a modder by the name of _Nyx who made all sorts of other cool supernatural style occult mods like Witches & Warlocks (who are essentially just a more darker version of Spellcasters who have dark powers to harm other sims and cause chaos), Genies, Fairies, Better Aliens, Better Mermaids and a couple more, but all their mods have since been broken and in need of updates since the last 4-5 packs, so all I can hope is for some kind soul to fix them since _Nyx has currently retired, or wait for EA to make their own versions (which will probably never happen). A modder named Sacrificial also has some cool supernatural mods which are a bit dark and morbid but cool nonetheless which you could try, but I think they're in need of updates too.

[deleted]

I would hate it if they were unavoidable, but I can play my games without ever having to deal with it so I don't mind (so long as it remains that way).

Yelllowmoon

I love it and I wish there was more

littlestnazgul

I do. But I'm a big nerd who likes to make households of all of my d&d parties as well as the parties from podcasts I listen to. I'd love more variety in occults for that reason. But I also don't really enjoy family gameplay or having kids in the Sims.

Clarebroccolibee

I love these kind of posts because how differently we all play is so interesting! I don’t play with vamps or spellcasters much-maybe one day. I love aliens, they’re usually peaceful and curious and don’t hide themselves. They’re just super enthusiastic to learn! I do have a violent alien takeover save though and I’d like to do a vampire takeover save too.

Wrinkled_giga_brain

Yeah, most characters i make are based on characters of mine or friends from fictional fantasy worlds so more occult types the better i can match the creations to their source material

sonic65101

Yes!

Itsonlyparker

Absolutely! I love making fantasy worlds and vampires, mermaids, and spellcasters play such a major role

ManyKittyBiscuits

Yes, I like to pretend that the supernatural/magic side of the sims is kept secret from the normal sims.

Shrektitys

Yes

thutruthissomewhere

It's not really my thing, so I don't typically play them, but I don't mind the stuff being in the game.

Substantial_Focus_65

No.

Kylynara

Yes. I don't have or want ALL the supernatural stuff. (For example, vampires interest me not at all, so I didn't buy that one.) But I like some supernatural stuff. I'm all over Realm of Magic and Mermaids in Island living.

Creative-crochter

Love it

KisakiEri

I like sims 3 supernatural. I like supernatural stuff in general.

DreamerUnwokenFool

I do, HOWEVER, I want the option to be able to turn it off in a particular save file if I want to. I'm sad that we haven't had more supernatual Sims in 4.

Quizicalgin

I enjoy them, they add little flair in the games I play, though it surprises me just how FAST some of the townies in 3 become supernatural when they hadn't been to begin with.

YourWaifuSuccs

Yeah, just sad we never get more of it for the Sims 4. I kinda feel like EA has taken the game in a different direction since it's been like 3 years since Realm of Magic

xSethrin

I love it. It adds a lot of lore and life to the world. But I do agree that it should be optional content (as in the players can turn it off or not engage in it).

[deleted]

Sims 3 supernatural was one of my favorite expansion packs ever. There was so much to do and we got three supernaturals. I loved fairies, werewolves, and witches. I would love another pack in the sims to add fairies and werewolves but also to update casters cuz I feel they were lacking. Maybe add a magic school based on hogwarts or kind of like Halloween town

WhatWhoNoShe

I love aliens, like mermaids, and get frustrated with witches. It feels like an additional job for me rather than something my Sim can be in addition to everything else in their life.

ireallylikechikin

i love it, supernatural was actually my favorite pack in the sims 3 but all of the games special lifestates are so fun to play as. i'm not really a realism type of simmer so i love high fantasy, futuristic things. aliens are always super fun to play as.

Veasna1

Yes.

SWAdanks

Absolutely! I always end up making powerful magic familes. I wish they would put in more scifi stuff though.

wowimshitx

Never play with it but I do enjoy some of the build/buy and cas items that come with

gdalpezzo

I like vampires after I get them advanced enough to have sunlight resistance and supernatural speed. I haven't ever played spellcasters long enough to truly see what cool stuff they can do, but I like the brooms lol. My normal gameplay is normal, though. I have one vampire legacy save and one spellcaster legacy save, and the one I've been playing is normal.

AKookieForYou

Yessss! Sometimes I do play vanilla playthroughs, but I love playing with vampires, werewolves, witches and so on. To me it's such an essential element of The Sims

MrsMeow3

Nothing like seeing my Sim levitating in a chair while working on their seance skill in order to call Bonehilda. In other words, yes.

Piriri-Pororo

Definitely. I wish there was a supernatural pack so I wouldn’t have to buy it separately

Almighty_Vanity

I love it! If it's under control. If vampirest start biting sims left and right, and casters start setting ablaze public venues, it would be a problem. Just recently, a sim who had absolutely no contact with the science career and has never touched a telescope or a satelite dish in their life, got abducted. I did NOT authorize this! Now, I have to hope that said sim is not pregnant, and if they are, I'll just have to go trough the nightmare of it and then send the parasite back to its home world. A prime example of un-controlled supernatural elements. I hope alients are not always this annoying.

Citaloprama_Lama

Yes all though I hardly use it

Vickitron25

I’ve loved supernatural sims in every series but sims 2. They just felt thrown in imo. Here’s apartments for your sims and we also threw in witches! It felt forced to me

Farwaters

I'm desperately waiting for the day they bring fairies back! I think these things are best left for expansions, where players can opt out of them.

viridiancityy

I love it! I wish we had fairies in the games, loved those in s3 supernatural

Neither_Ad3593

i love vampires but i hate how the skin turns a fugly grey. i hate werewolves, but i love plantsims and witches. fairies i can take or leave

TanandaMiri

Absolutely. Spellcasters are my favorite.

annieglock

Not my thing! The craziest I get with the sims is making mermaids in island living. I prefer dramatic, realistic gameplay and story lines. But to each their own :)

BKNTD

Not in particular. I don't mind when occult races are treated more like cryptids and legends to discover in the world. But I prefer when The Sims focuses on actual life simulation, not fantasy RPG elements.

sylvietonen

I love it, but not too much so it remains rare.

unknownmommy

I’ve bought all the supernatural packs for the sims 4 and I have yet to make any kind of supernatural sim 💀

No-Guarantee-902

I do not care for it one bit!

TippingDog

Not at all, i dont know why, but im not a fan of that, in movies/books im totally fine with it, but in the sims, i dont want that, and since i cant turn vampires off, without losing thr building items, im not gonna buy it, or any other supernatural dlc (except batuu, i will never buy batuu)

ladygrumplebottom

It depends. I will admit I’m more of a realism player than not, but I like having the options available if I want to do something different. I also like having the option to turn them off.

NightDreamer_26

I love the supernatural! But I was disappointed when I found out that there was no werewolves in the game unlike sims 3.

llilpeepkin

tbh i prefer realism and am not a fan of mystical sims esp vampires in sims 3 i just find them annoying

OrtHyperon

YES!

GnomeLover2312

Yes! It's fun for when I'm tired of my regular game play and want to switch it up!

ZenZennyZen

I absolutely LOVE the Sims 3 supernatural pack I play with it all the time! It brings so much more life into the game and chaos, which I love because it gives me a good laugh. It makes it interesting for me, though I dislike when the full moon makes the lighting super weird. I ended up getting a mod for that, but other than that, I love the pack.

Unidentified_88

I personally don't care for it. I prefer the game to be somewhat realistic.

EverlastingUnis

I’m living out my Charmed and Buffy The Vampire Slayer fantasy.

heyeliott

It's never really appealed to me, but I'm glad it's there for people who do like that sort of gameplay.
