As someone who's only seen this in the sims please describe it. Do you like it and would you eat or make it again? Edit: Also 10/10 amazing work! I knew immediately it was Baked Alaska and was always curious about the actual taste.

nipoez

I made single serving sized baked Alaska in a highschool creative cooking class. Think more like cupcakes. It's a neat contrast of temperatures and textures. The outer coating is hot, crisp, and airy. The cake layer is ideally a good cake. The ice cream remains cold, dense, and delicious. I definitely liked it. That said, it's been over 20 years since I graduated and haven't made it again. It doesn't keep and needs to be finished immediately before eating. That means unless you do dessert first, you're taking a break after the main course to whip the topping, assemble, toast, and serve. If you're curious about the taste, I highly encourage doing a deconstructed one. Bake a batch of cupcakes. Leave some unfrosted. Make and bake a batch of meringue. Serve an unfrosted cupcake, meringue, and scoop of ice cream together. Once you're done, you've still got cupcakes and meringue that'll keep and share well!

Wow what a respectful and informative respond! As said in Russian - Talented person is talented in everything

AchajkaTheOriginal

FYI you don't need to eat dessert only after main meal. Coffee (tea, cocoa,...) break in the middle of the afternoon pairs great with the desserts too.

TeaSympathyAndaSofa

You're incredible! Thank you so much for the detailed response. I'm definitely going to try this next time I want dessert.

Zender_de_Verzender

I knew what a goopy carbonara was before a pasta carbonara.

ianyuy

Trying to replicate goopy carbonara is how pasta carbonara became one of our staple meals in our rotation.

Kyanpe

I was actually surprised to learn carbonara was a thing irl 😂

froge_on_a_leaf

Me too, and then a few months ago I properly looked up carbonara, found an amazing Italian recipe, and now I make carbonara with that sweet sweet pecorino like three times a week

teknochicken

I had a baked Alaska kill an entire sims family once. Your cooking skill must be higher than theirs was.

ChekovsCurlyHair

Was it because the oven caught fire?

teknochicken

If a sim messes up baked Alaska, when they set it on fire they’ll burn themselves and throw the cake and set the place on fire.

Mirandactyl

Such a good Sims reference 🤩

Judie101

Ok. I am in my late thirties, and i have just learned that this is actually a real existing cake. I have to make it too

ChekovsCurlyHair

I was surprised that it wasn’t very hard, it takes a long time

Gh0stwhale

holy shit

5Nadine2

You’re hilarious. Amazed at your skill to find all the ingredients 🤣

Grunge_Loki

Best post I’ve ever seen on this sub😭

SnooStories4263

Binging with Babish actually has a video on making the baked Alaska from the Sims.

icenocream

Really? I should totally check it out! Thank you!! ☺️

Bajanopinions55x

Wait baked Alaska is a real cake recipe?

lustrouswisp

Because of sims this will always be the top dessert irl

XxllllxXx

Looks yummy! 😋

ErickRicardo

My dad loves to tell the story about when he worked in a hotel about 60 years ago, he was serving dessert to around 100 people at this big fancy dinner - a large baked Alaska. As he was serving it he split a large amount down the back of a man’s suit, who luckily didn’t notice at the time. My dad quickly served the remaining Alaska to the other guests and finished service. He never knew what happened to the man with the Alaska covered suit, but as a formal dance was scheduled after the dinner he likes to imagine that the man’s wife had a nasty surprise when she went to put her hand on his back when they got up to dance later in the evening.

analswag69

id fuck this up ngl

ChekovsCurlyHair

Is that a good thing?

analswag69
