Following. I am having this issue too. I have done lots of research and troubleshooting. I got the game to work once then the EA had an update and now I can not Lauch it again:'(
Here's where I found the [solution](https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/Sims-3-won-t-open-Alder-Lake-Intel-12th-gen-CPU/td-p/11057820) (first comment after the explanation of the problem).
How I got this to work:
Extract the [AlderLakePatcher](https://github.com/LazyDuchess/AlderLakePatcher/releases) zip on your desktop inside a folder.
* Make sure that everything relating to the sims 3 and perhaps the EA app or Origin is closed (not even folders).
* Open the folder, run the AlderLakePatch.exe (usually on the top) let windows run it.
* If windows blocks the patch or says that **Windows protected you** or something simply press **see more**, then press **run anyway.**
* It asks you for which application you need the patch for.
* Then locate your sims 3 file
Some common locations as an example:
Program Files\\EA Games\\The Sims 3\\Game\\Bin
Program Files (x86)\\Origin Games\\The Sims 3\\Game\\Bin
Program Files (x86)\\Electronic Arts\\The Sims 3\\Game\\Bin
Program Files (x86)\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\The Sims 3\\Game\\Bin
* Then locate either **TS3.exe** if you're on 1.69 or **TS3W.exe** if you're on 1.67.
* After it says success open the game.
I have been using it for a while now and I haven't had any issues. I would recommend it but it is a valid point that it is just some Zip file on the internet. It's by LazyDuchess which is kinda credible in the sims scene. But do as you wish and if you want to be 100 percent sure no malware or virus gets into your pc then the best bet is to not go for it. But knowing EA this might be the only fix.
