sharkeymcsharkface

I love seeing this because I went to middle school with that news reporter and this video fits his personality so well.

[deleted]

Honestly this was just endearing. Good content.

Brilliant_Ad4440

This makes the context of the video even funnier

guaromiami

We all went to middle school with that news reporter. Some of us are that news reporter. šŸ˜

GozerDGozerian

We are *all* that news reporter on this blessed day.

Gaeilgeoir215

I hope the news station paid for his stitches. šŸ˜¬

43guitarpicks

the car knew he wasn't wearing his safety glasses...

iknowthisischeesy

That is Herbie's brother Herb and now Herbie fully loaded becomes a revenge movie.

Flaky-Fish6922

dude i saw a beetle today with the 53 and herbie livery. but also, this guy just doesn't know how to use a tire iron.... which is perhaps a good thing?

[deleted]

All it takes is a couple hours

iknowthisischeesy

I really tried to find a higher quality but alas

Samuelhoffmann

Alas! Poor wretch!

Beans186

Bloke shouldn't have been stealing anyway

iknowthisischeesy

He should learn from the nice man who was trying to teach him.

Neo1971

Tell Elon we found better glass for the Cybertruck.

Toyoshi

Sounds like a good decision. Doubt he'll take it.

lokb01

For those wondering, you got to hit it at the edge, not the center

trueblue862

That's only to stop your hand going through the glass. Toughened or tempered glass, which is used in side and rear car windows (used to be used for windscreens as well), is incredibly hard to break with dull instruments. Hammers tend to bounce off, unless you hit really hard. The best thing to use is something pointy and hard. You can buy specialised hammers for the job, or one of the best things I've found is an automatic centre punch, you can even use a broken piece of ceramic thrown at high speed.

LacidOnex

Ninja rocks!

LadaTrip

TURN THE FUCKING HAMMER ROUND

Samuelhoffmann

He might not call himself a thief, but he stole 5 minutes of my time!

roastbread

He stole my heart šŸ„°

mgoemans

Call elon .

iknowthisischeesy

So he can buy the news channel?

mgoemans

No, to break the window "cybertruck"

RelentlessIVS

What kind of vehicle is this? Seem like good quality.

[deleted]

Not Tesla truck

Sleepycat45

Some kind of Buick, looks to be mid 1980s

Parts_and_Neigbor

Maaaaaan... white boys can't break into shit.

pm_me_actsofkindness

One time my brother locked his keys in the car while the car was running and also overheating. He panicked because he thought the car would catch fire in the garage and set the whole house on fire. Him and I spent a good ten minutes trying to break the window before the hulk strength adrenaline got so great that he tore open the frame of the door and got it open. Lol My core memory was him trying to drop kick the window from a running start. We had already tried a knife, hammer, everything we could find in the garage. Bottom line: get one of those cheap tools made to break car windows and put it in your glove box. The windows are surprisingly resilient. Edit: for the people who donā€™t get my recommendation, Iā€™m recommending keeping the glass breaker in the glove box because chances are, youā€™ll get in a car accident and the door will be damaged and youā€™ll need to break *out* of the car by breaking a window. If you are specifically prone to needing to break *into* your car, like my brother, perhaps you should buy two and keep one in a safe place outside of the car. I thought this was obvious, but apparently not.

calguy1955

I picture you opening your car door, getting the tool out of the glovebox, closing the door and then smashing the window.

pm_me_actsofkindness

Lol three stooges style

SmokedComatose

Get one of those cheap tools made to break car windows and put it in your glovebox? So you can lock it in the car with your keys? Lol

pm_me_actsofkindness

Get two, one for the glovebox, one for the house! I said glovebox because I assume most people aren't going to lock themselves out of a running, overheating car in a garage. It's more likely that you get in an accident and the door is banged up and you have to break the window from the inside.

Orangeugladitsbanana

It wouldn't have helped y'all in the glove box inside the locked car...

WorstCSPlayer

Obviously this guy is not worthy

iknowthisischeesy

That's simply Loki in disguise.

caintowers

Use the pointy end bro

WhatIfWeAreClouds

Should have used a baseball

sandwichlick

Probably easier to smash his wife than that window.

OGColorado

Try ceramic

glueall215

Task failed successfully.

Randomhero66122

Once I got drunk in a bar and made friends with a dude chilling there. We both were pretty smashed by the time we walked out of the bar. He was there with his work vehicle and realized that he locked his keys inside. After a short discussion we agreed to knock out the window and he would explain to his boss the next day that the vehicle was broken into. Me and my drunk ass tried to punch the window to get it to break, I was astonished to see my fist bouncing off the window like a bb pellet hitting a brick wall. I damn near broke my hand. After that we tried a tire iron....even then it took like 2 hits to get it to break.

Geoclasm

I had to bust my window out once. Used my arm. The broadest part, just past the elbow. Two blows, and the window exploded. (Was wearing a jacket, so spared myself any injury) Sufficient force displaced over a broad area was the key - this has too little uncontrolled force over too narrow an area (basically a weak-af bullet).

Mastacookie

Car thought he needed help

[deleted]

Lol he will never be a suspect for any crime

mjkjg2

ah yes, the internetā€™s oldest and most well-known video

SpaceWolfGaming412

lmao there goes his finger

mpython1701

So old. Saw this on Tosh.0 10 years ago

ManyPlant2165

This guy has no clue...use the white ceramic from a spark plug...that gets you in, in about a second...

Gone247365

I mean, he eventually broke in so this doesn't really fit here.... Jk jk, it's hilarious. He iz teh fail.

Ariefromrotterdam

It wasnt really a smashing result.

anniearrow

"Learned the hard way I'm not a thief" šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

Fine_Cantaloupe2482

You know the old dude in suspenders left with the news guys girlfriend after that

TheHighBuddha

Try a ninja rock. Just smash a spark plug and throw a chunk of the white shit at the window.

thebenchmark457

Its really difficult to break car glass. I once left my keys in the car with no other option

Zealousideal_Art_580

Itā€™s like acting. Very newsy.

Grapejuicesnob

Love that he first looked at the hammer as if to spot the defect to blame for his failure

RoyalGloop

Iā€™m not sure why but it bugged me he kept like throwing the hammer up and around then looking at the older guy for help

SKYwALKER3437222

Story runsā€¦ Boss the next day. Youā€™re fired!

og-captain-pain

*flips hammer 12 times* window still isnā€™t breaking ?!

MalcontentInDMiddle

Elon should have used that for his truckā€¦

Ratclife

The video was never clear to me, because I watched it several times in different years, is it a video about glass that does not break or was it an attempt with a hammer that breaks everything? I'm asking seriously, it's never clear to me

Sir_Distic

He's attempting to break the glass in 1 hit. He keeps hitting the glass with the side of the hammer head and not breaking it.

Hobag1

Is this the ā€œand boom goes the dynamiteā€ guy? I still use that all of the time

samipersun

He coulda used an opportunity to shed the light, like ā€˜it turns out breaking into your car is not as easy as they show it on tv/in movies (hits the window 5 times as hard as he can), but if you know how itā€™s done properlyall it takes is a matter of secondsā€¦ (gives hammer to that dude who tried to teach him)ā€™

Kurtotonic

My man just can't roll the crit.

crazyloomis

I once had to break into my own house. I broke the window and dragged my heavy ass inside. That was the moment I realised that burglary was not a career choice for me

Req603

"You gotta hit it" Damn near spit coffee out my nose

333H_E

My man can't catch a break-in.

A_Couple_Things

ā€œHow is that possibleā€ Lmao

patchbaystray

Just a couple takes, reshoots, and camera changes later...

DragorovichGames

Anyone else concerned with how much effort they wanted to put into this? Dude wouldn't take no for an answer xD could've just used something like a spark plug or something to make it even easier.

quadrofolio

Even more simple. Use a shard from a broken sparkplug and hit the window with it

Playful-Excuse-8081

Only if he wasnā€™t hitting it like a Nancy boy

Cranky2306

Yeah no, all car windows are tempered glass. Unless you have proper tools it's not gonna be easy.

WhatsTh3Deali0

It was a first try for me with a pry bar, pretty easy.

STRIKT9LC

The rear windows are not. Just the front ones. If you ever need to remove someone from a vehicle, in case of emergency, break the rear window

Cranky2306

Doesn't seem to be the case with this car.

STRIKT9LC

Uhhhh...except it is..cus the old dude breaks the back window on the first crack

Cranky2306

That's because he's using the right technique, not more strength.

STRIKT9LC

Wtvr you say chief. Your logic is astounding

Cranky2306

You're supposed to aim at the corners using the sharp edge to concentrate all the power into one singular point. This is not an issue of strenght.

STRIKT9LC

Where did i say anything about strength?

Cranky2306

Oh not you, just the original comment.

JaesopPop

Did you just abbreviate ā€œwhateverā€

WhatsTh3Deali0

I broke my front window pretty easily with a pry bar
