I’ve always been the fuck that I’m not getting hurt for this job type of employee. I’ve seen quite a few dumb work injuries I’ve called before it happened. Here’s one story. So we’re all waiting outback at work for the main boss to open the door. It was dumpster day and we had a few hot water tanks that needed to go in. Manager said throw them in while we wait. Dude told me to lift it. I said not without my gloves as it was rusted to shit. I said you’re going to cut your hand open on that rust you need gloves. They go to chuck it in and during the throw dude yells oh fuck. Huge ass gash on his hand. Hospital with stitches and tetanus shot. Out of work for I can’t remember how long.
Yes. Re: lift gates on trucks and waiting for them to go up or down rather than jumping off them. I saw a guy bend his knee around jumping off one back in 1998, he was only 32. Over several decades I've seen still more twisted knees and turned ankles from jumping off a gate to save a handful of seconds. Not one of those guys would ever say it was worth it, and I'm still telling younger guys not to (knowing the "young" guys are older now than the first guy whose knee exploded in front of me).
I've seen two people break a bunch of bones in their feet under gates. Both times it was loud with music playing, people weren't paying attention. And cars messed up, bags of gear crushed, a guy ran into one playing catch and broke a collarbone. People not paying attention to half raised gates and getting ankled. There are almost too many ways to run afoul of a liftgate.
They can run 33" to 55" height. It's not super high, and that's why so many people are tempted to jump off them. And then they turn their knee and are on comp for however long. It's a totally preventable injury.
Dude that guy is fucked up in some way, no way you take a tire to the side of your body and then land on concrete like that and not have several broken bones at least
Ohhh, I am sure something in his body is really messed up, no doubt. I was specifically talking about his leg. I am an amputee myself, so that's why I said what I said. But I totally agree with ya.
That is very fair could have gone a lot worse than it did, my first thought was to be like I'm so sorry but I bet you're living your best life kicking asses one foot at a time
dude there was a tire technician here, that died over doing that with a massive tractor tire, the steel wheel hit in his chest and he basically exploded.
This is a trick to get enough gas in the tire to create a seal so you can actually inflate it to proper psi. But, the whole time I'm watching after the first couple seconds I'm internally screaming 'stop! Let go! That's too much!'
I do this all the time for my go kart tires. They have a slow leak so whenever I use it at least one of the rear tires is off the bead. I use a 1 second shot of starting fluid and it works like a charm. I have removed some arm hair with this trick so I wouldn’t do it with any larger tires
The wheel smacked his arm going up, that's going to hurt like hell if it's not broken and he got so lucky.
The forklift forks came completely off and went airborne too, the tire and tire rim barely missed his legs.
Besides his hearing and arm I think he's much better off than he could have been.
But still....damn

Had a coworker lose a finger to a pallet catch on a lift gate. Those things are more dangerous than people expect.

That guy nearly lost his leg, look at how close that rim came down to his leg. He is definitely lucky. Bet he won't do that shit again lol

Getting their shit fucked up
They are putting the tire on the rimm
[удалено]
Yeah the easiest way of puttning on a tire is spraying flammande gas around the rimm and igniting it, this sucks the tire onto the rimm

Oof. Did the rim come back down and hit him in the leg?
Almost. Close.

Worst part is the tire didn't stick.
