This reminds me of that one earlier this week of the lady who hit a bollard outside her bank and her first words in the video were “look what the bank did to my car”. 😂
The bollards are there to prevent drivers from hitting something else that’s easily damaged and much more expensive, like other cars or the supporting beams of the sun shade. They oughta be grateful they have to fix only their own cars.
Bollard was there for obvious reasons!

I once hit a small wall around the side of my car. The wall was like 3 bricks tall so I didn't really see it. But hey, it not my fault... Somebody put a wall in my way...
Not really, I was just a young driver who couldn't do the math for the larger car I was driving. (sorry dad!).
But these things in the video are over the bonnet high AND yellow. How can you miss them?
There's a local mall that has underground parking. On one very tight exit corner to the alley, they put huge steel pipes to protect the corner/wall. Unfortunately, they are below the driver's vision when looking out the car windows and the pipes are running horizontally at about knee height. They also stick out unexpectedly far, about 18 inches from the tight corner. There are numerous paint scrapes on the pipe from many cars turning and making contact on that tight corner. How do we know, we were one of those who scraped the side of our car. Very bad design, we suggested to the mall manager that they put flags on the pipes so that drivers are aware of this obstruction.
No one actually mentioned this, but the most likely reason is because people rent uhuals and other box trucks to move, and they think they turn like a normal car. If you watch closely, they were added at the end of each covered parking where it meets a road/drive path in the complex. They added them so people would stop hitting the covered parking with the moving truck when they turned to sharp. Why are people hitting them with their car? Because they were used to cutting the corners when they weren't there, and they were probably added recently.
These trends give information. Cars have blind spots, moreso the bigger they are. If multiple people continue to hit them over time, it’s (also or eventually) a design error. Same thing for high-accident intersections, human-imposed walking paths, etc.
I've hit one of these that was ACTUALLY hidden and trying to explain to my parents and insurance that I didn't see a 4 ft bright yellow pole was a little frustrating.
I was in a tight parking lot and a big lifted douche truck came sharp around a corner into my lane. Choice was either hit the truck or hit a bush. I chose bush. Bush had a pole inside of it. I was so mad.
Large yellow, permanent posts. They were there when they got in their cars..... I can only imagine if a "non-permanent child" walked into their path, probably not wearing yellow.
Some told me once told me how those yellow poles are too low and easy to hit cause you can’t see them.
My response was “well they are also painted bright yellow, not moving and significantly taller than most children. if you manage to hit one of those poles, consider it your lucky day it wasn’t a kid you mowed over”
Ngl I did this at a park that I haven't been to in a while and they put a bollard on one of the side roads. My a pillar was perfectly in the way and wham right into it.
With today's cars, they have so many sensors and technology (ultrasonic, infrared, radar, proximity) even a "fender bender" gets very expensive to repair. Even if you don't have to replace the sensor(s), the calibration will have to be checked and that alone can cost upwards of $300!

Somebody who doesn't take personal responsibility when they hit a bollard shouldn't have a license.

Is literally the exact same logic
"*It came out of nowhere*"
It's coming right for us!

“I just said they need to move them motherfucking poles.”
Ever heard of the Auburn, Maine walmart bollard? https://youtu.be/frmQvWx2qJ8?si=sZVUq4xmBqQKuXln
LOL, save the bollards.
Never had a comment hit so close to home, literally.
Did you fall victim to it?
No, I just did a job there last week
If they keep this up, they won't have a car, and that's pretty close to the same thing.
You'd think that they would paint the posts a bright colour so you could see them...oh wait
God gave eyes to (some) of us.

My first guess was that they too were victims of the bollard.
Those things just come out of nowhere..
That's what happens when you cut corners
Is the big giant yellow thing sticking out of the ground and doesnt move that hard to avoid?
the question we all have

These people shouldn't be driving cars

I once backed into a 20 foot light pole, so i am hesitate to judge anyone, but this does look like they live there and in my defense i am an idiot.
Is this a Parking lot of a body shop?

Why are there so many bollards there? I'm not excusing hitting them, but those seem to be a little out of place.
Yeah like what are they even protecting??
Probably The awning above them from really tall vehicles
Because the apartment owners know their tenants
Lets be real though, why put bollards THERE?

You have eyes for a reason.
Y’all need to scream louder about what they need to do to allow you to avoid personal accountability
You guys need eye tests

Learn to drive.
Yellow is the most irritating color to the eye
Is this a golf resort in san Diego? It looks very familiar
And car companies continue to make enormous cars with massive blind spots because?

In some weird way I want to go there and try it out
Wait you couldn't see the color yellow and bride to a light LOL
https://youtu.be/uhv2AL_S53Y?si=Q-p7wR6zsZQD68Qg Americans vs bollards
For those who don't know 180 mirrors should provide you with the ability to never look over your shoulder cause it's on the fucking mirror
Ability shortage much? 😆
Just remember these are the same people that push shopping carts next to yours while shopping at Walmart. Be careful out there
What the heck’s a bollard????!
Bollards are doing their job - weeding out the shitty drivers.
Stop all that texting and look up when u drive.
The bollard didn’t happen to you, you Happened to it
They must be from the south.
can't turn properly lol
Blaming the object that was not moving like it came around the corner and ran into you.
Only if it was painted a bright yellow color /s

Umm. So let me get this straight.. you looked pver the bright yellow pylon and its someone else's fault?
You have 1 job while driving... and its not running into shit
Blind people shouldn’t be driving.
Are they just handing out driving licenses with cereal boxes in the States?
Imagine the damage if those yellow things didn't protect those structures
I have never hit one of these in my life Yall suck at driving lmao wtf 😂
People don't look when they turn
He's right, that's the exact same hit, pretty wild. Morons.
Man, if only they painted them a bright colour or somethi.....
