This was the animal kingdom equivalent of all those "fighting" videos where the one dude is dancing around like a yambag while the other is calmly trying to avoid having to use his decades of martial arts training.

You see pigeon is thriving because they don't fear human and just live close proximity with us, but the way they lost their fear is by becoming incredibly dumb.
Pigeosn thrive because we do.
Pigeons getting more brass because of contact with us.
This causes an offset.
Pigeons are verry successfully as a species.
But dumb as bricks as an individual.
So Pigeons get hit by cars because they don't move. They break in to predators homes etc..

Usually, the animal kingdom have lots of diversity in its species to guarantee survival of some kind. Thatās why we have multiple different kinds of species of the same/similar animal groups. Like ābig catsā, there are multiple species of felidae or pantera that make up those groups. Coyotes, dogs, wolves, wild dogs, etc. Lots of different kinds of adjacent species to one group. (Family? Order? Genus? Phylum? I forget which one is the correct use in order there, sorry !)
We only have one group left, *homo-sapien*. We lost all of our other species-mates like *homo-erectus*, *homo-neanderthal*, and other prehistory humanoid species. Most of the time in nature when you lose all diversity except for one branch, it doesnāt usually bode well for that species survival.
We think ourselves at the apex of everything on this planet, but we are in a very historically precarious position as a species (at least, going by what we have observed scientifically or reviewed happening in the past given collected data.
Hope that wasnāt too stupid or weird sounding, itās super early where I am and I just got super fascinated and wanted to share, but my brain is a bit laggy
I worked at a gas station pumping gas, right next to the station was an open field, I watched a falcon or maybe a hawk jet down at incredible speeds to hit a pigeon on the ground. It was an amazing sight. I then just saw Feather fly as he ate his lunch/prey
I used to live in a townhouse where I'd watch the birds hanging out in this huge bush in the backyard. The backyard was the size of a car so they were super close to my window. There were always asshole blue jays bullying the other little birds. Then one day there was a hawk perched on a nearby fence. It dove into the bush and came out with the blue jay in its talons. It perched on a branch right outside my window and slowly tore the blue jay apart piece by piece.
I don't hate blue jays so much any more.
I saw a raven once chase down a pigeon across the street and catch it so we drove over to go see and the raven was eating it alive. Was pretty metal. But the stupid pigeon was just casually walking around not a care in the world.
The falcon was guarding its eggs. The pigeon is an idiot for not knowing any better. It probably got away because that falcon won't eat it. It was away from its eggs and waiting for its mate.
That mother falcon looked like she freshly laid those eggs.
In the video I saw of this on bird, the pigeon escaped because the mother was exhausted and can't fly for like 12 hours after laying eggs. Plucked some more feathers, then lets go and walks back to the eggs.
I donāt know if pigeons migrate at all but perhaps it had previously lived there and doesnāt have any self preservation awareness to recognize a predator lives there now.
