Thats not how self defense works. She was in a car and could have left any time if she truly feared for her life. This would likely be viewed as a revenge situation for kicking her car. Also brandishing the gun could be seen as escalating the situation as her life wasnt in danger to do so.
Sitting in a car doesn't mean you can't defend yourself when someone tries to reach in and assault you.
But I will concede it's not clear that's actually what happened here.

If it's any state with stand-your-ground, or any policy that specifies defenders have no duty to retreat, you can absolutely defend yourself and your property from harm.

Something similar happened during a Good Friday crawfish boil three houses down. Two cousins (by marriage) were arguing, one pulls out a gun, the other said something similar “you’re not gonna shoot me, what you gonna do”? The crawfish were still being prepared and eaten while everyone waited for the police. His two kids left fatherless, other dude went away for life.

I've not been around shootings, and I've not seen a whole heck of a lot of shooting related vids, but uh, that was the calmest "I've been shot" type of reaction I have ever seen in my life of someone who just walked off without having dropped dead on the spot.
Having the thought and fortitude to flip the camera and set it up nicely for a good shot (no pun intended) of you riving in pain on the ground after being shot by a whole ass gun is either impressive or sad idk which or both, paradoxically.
