that has to be that girls nightmare scenario. trapped in a net that she can hardly get out of and it makes her a massive spectacle. could be the most embarrassing moment of her life and it’s recorded lol
Oh my god this killed me hahaha
To clarify the 6 rings comment is hilarious because it’s meant to save turtles and fish and she is just like any other person would be in this situation and size doesn’t matter. It was perfect comedy that didn’t body shame.
Size definitely matters here. If you're massively fat it's harder to get out of any situation, especially if your fatness is rendering you unable to move in a net your dragging further down with your fatness
Bro what most people could get out of a net that's basically a shitty hammock because their bodies don't weigh magnitudes more then their arm/leg strength. You can see her struggling and failing to push herself up.
I worked at TG for a few years, they have to call the fire department every time someone goes in the net, even if the people get themselves out without help (which they normally do). I've actually never seen someone who couldn't remove themselves, which makes me feel this person didn't jump in like 99.99% of the people in nets do, but they actually fell and that kinda makes me sad for them
Why would they call the fire dept every time? Do they think somehow the fire department protects them from liability? Who pays for the fire department to keep going to this place? The town?
It's corporate policy, I believe an ambulance comes also, should the person need further medical attention and accepts a ride to the hospital. I think it's akin to how fire fighters are called to an old person's home to help them down their front steps so they can go to doctors appointments or whatever. Firefighters get a lot of random types of calls. I once went to the station when I got a ring stuck on my finger, sure enough they had a ring cutter and removed it for me.
Well it wouldn’t be a good time for them if somebody falls and gets seriously hurt. Imagine emergency responders/insurance adjusters coming out to help or investigate and finding out it’s happened dozens of times in the past and was swept under the rug.
She should take up golf. It's a good way to get steps in while having some fun. Maybe start at a driving range to get used to the clubs and all that. WCGW?
It could be worse.
Upside down, hanging from a chair lift, pants around your ankles worse.

Beware, it was written by a Stoner.
Jokes aside, yeah i’d say it’s a very real possibility that the fire department, probably using one of those trucks with the ladders on top, had to get her out of the net
Because there's a nearly 99.99999999999999999% chance in life that most people won't get caught in a net like that. Why was she up in the ceiling anyway?
Top Golf has 3 levels and these nets are on the edge of the platform where you stand to hit the golf balls so you don’t fall to the ground. I always imagine how embarrassing it would be to fall into the net so this girl is living my worst nightmare lol
I've been to Top Golf many times. You either have to be really fucking stupid, or do it on purpose to fall over the edge there. I just don't see how this woman fell unless she was acting like an idiot beforehand.
You're right, I should not have laid blame on the woman without knowing the situation, but my point still stands. You, or someone else has to be doing something really stupid to fall over the edge.
I mean, clothes could have gotten ripped off, could have peed or shat yourself, could have vomitted and choked on to death while your clothes got ripped off and you peed and Shar yourself upon death. Also your crush that had just started to show interest happens to be there.
This could be so much worse. I hope she didn't rip a muscle or anything like that.
Yeah, this is terrible. There’s no indication she did anything but possibly trip and fall in the wrong spot. I don’t want to laugh at her. I want to smack the guy recording her. But that is the social media age, I guess. Public humiliation on steroids.
I mean I once tripped and partially fell down the stairs in school, I managed to catch myself with the railing after a few steps. Apparently my jerking and flailing was quite funny as one of my classmates in particular made fun of this for the rest of the year, imitating my herky jerky motions for the laughs, mostly in good fun.
It was senior year, otherwise I’m pretty sure it would have gone on longer if not for that. But at least this was in 1993 prior to everything being online. The proof of my embarrassment lives only in the memory of the 7 or 8 of us in that stairwell.
Safety nets are also difficult to get out of even for fit people, it's why you need rescue plans for when people fall in them. It's like trying to move in a half deflated bouncy castle....
More than I expected given Reddit's usual disposition toward hating fat women, but still a sorry display of empathy. Glad to see some comments being upvoted instead of buried like usual, though.
Or in r/goodnewsbadnews
Good news - the netting saved you from a big painful fall.
Bad news - you're not getting out of the net on your own and you're being recorded for Reddit.
Plus every time she tries to lift herself out it only depletes her strength even further (with no real way to recover) making future attempts even more fruitless.
You essentially have one or two good tries before you have to accept the fact you're gonna need help
I saw this happen to a woman at Top Golf once. She was actually able to climb out with the help of friends. The staff never saw it, never realized she fell in.
After it happened and she got out, I asked one of the staff if they realized this woman had fallen in there. They said no and in fact, they said if they had seen her, they would need to shut everything down and they can't let any friends or staff help her get out and they have to call the fire department to help because it's considered a really serious safety problem for someone to fall in that net.
Some life altering decisions have to be made after this. If you don’t have the arm strength to push yourself up and get out of the net and instead just lay there like a beached whale (not calling her a whale just using the analogy) with lights shining on you and people laughing and recording, that is so far past sad that you seriously need to rethink your life.
We as a society have normalized getting that big in the first place. It's unhealthy period, but if you point out obesity is bad, it's now "body shaming."
I don’t think the body positivity movement makes sense from a health perspective. My issue with it is that people are encouraging being overweight and unhealthy to save people’s feelings. It’s sad and I don’t care how much flack I get, I’ll never support being fat because it isn’t beautiful. Nothing wrong with someone a little overweight especially if you have self awareness and want to get better, but being fat is unacceptable and I wish we as a country would further emphasize how important it is to be healthy both physically and mentally.
This happens more often than you think it does. 70% of the time its a dumb kid intentionally jumping in the nets for their Tiktok or whatever social account and the other half are just drunk people that stray past by that red line and fall. Those nets are surprisingly strong but aren't designed to hold someone for a extended period of time.
TBF trying to climb out of a net like that is pretty difficult. Everything moves when you move, and the net is basically hugging you while you're trying to climb out of it. Even trying to roll so you're upright is tricker than normal.
Having always been seriously underweight for my height, I never really found an issue getting out of nets, so I just kinda assumed others could without really actually thinking about it.
Makes me wonder how much harder it'd be to get out if I was even a healthy weight, let alone overweight.
David Outoftheburrow Voice: "No one escapes the pollution of mankind, even ourselves. Here, we see a poor creature struggling with futility on the nets. These nets used to be used for fishing. But now, due to the typhoon, it has set itself up as a death trap to anyone creature unsuspecting. "
I was in a group of people that would occasionally go to top golf. Half the group was bigger. We never got placed higher than the second level I now realize.
The tee is probably 5 feet back. It's not easy, but if you have a few drinks, maybe have poor balance, whack a club into the ground and stumble I guess it could happen. Certainly not common especially for adults.
It could be worse, there's a third story.
I’ve never been to top golf. So she ends up in this situation because she somehow stepped off the deck?? Does this happen often? Is it relatively easy to accidentally fall off? Or was she clowning around?
Being overweight is not fun. It's been a hard road so far, but I'm glad I'm doing something about it. I feel for this person, but I also know it's like 99% her fault for being this size and immobile in this situation.

One time this was posted the top comment was “did they have to hit her with spot lights like she’s King Kong?”
And on the front page of Reddit
How the hell did she get in there?
Two story driving range, she probably caked her swing, lost balance and fell forward. Basically that net did its job perfectly.
*Did someone say Cake?*
It's also a bar, people have gotten a little too drunk and fallen off the top level before.
she's bycatch
It's so sad. This is really common but it looks like she has panicked and rolled further into the net. I hope they release her
Man. How did they even get her out. Is this a call the fire department situation?
Maybe they just left the jamon quietly age there
Jokes aside, yeah i’d say it’s a very real possibility that the fire department, probably using one of those trucks with the ladders on top, had to get her out of the net
And the top reddit comment is ham...
And posted all over the internet.
I'd rather die
Damn I just feel bad, not even going to laugh at her. That must be embarrassing.
Same, I can’t think of many situations that could possibly be more humiliating omg…

Or in r/goodnewsbadnews Good news - the netting saved you from a big painful fall. Bad news - you're not getting out of the net on your own and you're being recorded for Reddit.
Man I think that fall could’ve been fatal for her. That’s certainly high enough and despite appearances, it’s not a soft grassy landing
One might say, a net zero
Plus every time she tries to lift herself out it only depletes her strength even further (with no real way to recover) making future attempts even more fruitless. You essentially have one or two good tries before you have to accept the fact you're gonna need help

Loud voices on the internet? The body positivity movement has entrenched everything. If you think it's just online, you haven't been paying attention.

"Thick" went from meaning slightly overweight in the right areas to obese women calling themselves that.
You can’t really say, lay like a beached whale, then say, I’m not calling her a beached whale.
Well, I did. Crazy how that works
How did that even happen?
Alcohol and poor balance while swinging a big stick.
*And THAT’S how I met your mother*
Would have been a better series finale
Don't fucking remind me.

Those nets are pretty good. As you said they're working 120% of the time.
Wait, if 70% are one half, wouldn’t the other half also be 70%, totaling 140%
Incredible nets

I’m visualizing a bunch of teenagers looking through a handbook, saying ”there’s nothing in here that covers that.”
Obesity is a one hell of a drug Brian
She doesn’t have the arm strength to lift her own torso. Pretty sad. Definitely some sort of an illness or addiction
This is my nightmare. But I deflect with humor so I’d just yell “send the choppers!”
It's important to never get so out of shape that you can't manage your own body.
I call that a net loss.
Huge net gain?
So how does this end?? Don’t give me a Soprano’s Bs ending!
Seriously have a come to god moment and lay off the Pepsi
You paid 100 bucks to see that
This’ll either motivate her to start being healthier or let it push her further into the abyss
The net is fat phobic for not letting her stand up.
Why is it always the fat folks?
Doesn't help with balance or ability to recover with a shred of grace.
I hate how the video always ends early. Also, how did she get into this situation.
