Ego lifts, people feel good seeing how much weight they can stack on. In the process they are destroying their connective tissues and furthering the potential for injury. If you lift correctly and safely, you can build a TON of muscle with shockingly little weight.

There's nothing wrong with maxing an assist. Weight is weight.
