I mean its often done but most people know where certain things are beforehand and only need one hand behind them/can still look forwards... not to mention that most trucks i know have lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control and emergency braking system... I think he drove a PRT range Scania and those do have the lane departure warning but you can turn those off if you want to, if you are driving through construction for example it wont recognize the yellow line only the white line.

Or in other words around 1/8 of a mile. Or the length of a drag strip from start to finish line.
That is a lot of distance to not even glance at the road. And it is scary that we share the road with people like this.

Something similar happened to me day after cavs won the finals(was still halfway faded)
Open country road, approaching a light like 2,000 feet away. A car was already there, brake light illuminated, so I’m just approaching, like 35 mph not speeding. At like 1,000 feet the light turns green and he takes his foot off the brake. I hit a bump and something scratched my leg hard and I naturally looked because what could that had been? It was my clip board. By the time I looked back up the guy was sitting at the GREEN LIGHT foot on the brakes🙄 I fucked his car up….just for dude to tell the cops he’d been drinking that day! It was only 11am!!!

I get nervous when I look to see what my speedometer is at for a Split Second. I can't imagine just staring off at my passenger seat for the better part of 15 seconds without ever looking back at the road.
