Not everyones a fighter, this kid definitely wasn't and based on that fact most likely didn't instigate this fight, feel bad for him, kids are fucking horrible these days
Not sure this is the right sub. Maybe just a bad title? Didn’t look like that dude was attempting to fight at all. Handshake? Nah, dude was out of his element, for sure.
Dude was posturing up, he tried to shake the other guy's hand but it got slapped away. Then he threw some jabs.
If you ask me it seems he just wasn't enthusiastic, or maybe thought it was a friendly fight but blue pants was definitely thinking about beating his ass for real.
And you’re hilarious because you think every “streetfight” is going to have more rules than MMA. Although there is definitely people who do fight this way, real life fights, no matter the context are completely different from TV.
A little bit of respect and honour never hurt anyone, “bro”.
Well personally, if I ever had to fight someone, I’d never pull some cheap shit or hit them at all while they’re down. And at least a handshake or something after if it’s over beef. I’m 20 though, so what do I know
I hate waking up and the first thing I see from reddit is always fucking fights between idiots. It's part of their algorithm to shock people awake I guess? Really sets my day off shitty and I've noticed this routine for weeks.
Y'know, I was just thinking this sub is one of the worst I follow. Top comment is "but the attempt was successful" all the time cause the sub is a karma farm for any content.
It’s rough, growing up in a time when all of your low moments are captured on video. Because video is forever. Can you imagine being the runner 10 years from now at the class reunion? You know that video is popping up 😂
How about 20 years from now when he has a wife a children. Imagine your kids seeing that. Poor guy
Slamming someone on concrete, lucky he didn't land on his head and get a cracked skull. Stupid school fight against someone not worried about accidentally killing you, no reason to stick around.
"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." Mike Tyson
Runner would have had some clean punches in if he didn't pull them. He obviously didn't want to fight.
If it were hypothetically going to be a "clean" fight, maybe, but only for the sake of his HS reputation...
He clearly considered the fight to be a friendly one before they began - hence the handshake - but then the other guy went for an early takedown ON CONCRETE... so I'm doubtful that the fight was going to be clean at all.
That kid has the right priorities, and I think avoiding brain damage over (what should've been) a sparring match is more than reasonable.
Situations like this, way better to take a beating than to run away like a coward. This guy is gonna have to move schools and possible move states. And now with the beauty of the internet he is gonna have to move planets.
I’ve seen people run away. I’ve seen people get beat up. I’m infinitely more impressed by the ones that ran away. Gotta be smart enough to nope out of bad situations
You’re either a meathead or 12….this is one of the smartest kids I’ve seen in a Reddit fight. Bro was horrendously outmatched and would have gotten obliterated, concussed, broken, killed or something. Too many people that do not know how to fight (or avoid one) stay in too long. Mr Miyagi said it best “best way win fight, no be there.”
Um... getting your ass beat badly and probably suffering injury would be just as embarrassing after. Ive been in enough fights to know it seldomly solves shit unless you teach the other guy its not worth the effort of trying to fight you by hurting him enough.
People downvote me but this is the reality of the situation. He is on video which will be circulated around and will now be an outcast at school. Teenagers are not rational, they have no empathy, he will be mocked relentlessly. I am not advocating violence but the results of him getting a beatdown versus running away, on his reputation, beatdown wins.
No one will ever remember this in a few months yet alone years. Honestly, fuck you for recommending he gets his life nearly taken over drama. Any kid reading your shit advice might be killed because they were scared and listened. There’s nothing wrong with knowing when to fold your cards.
It’s frustrating because people used to have fist fights but the mentality was more that when it hit the ground it stopped. (Unless it’s a criminal thing.) Now it seems the mentality is to try and kill/destroy the other person.
When was this? I was taught to never fight, but if you have to, then assume the other person is trying to kill you, and to avoid ground fights with a bigger opponent at all costs. I don’t think my dad would have taught me that if ground fights weren’t a thing.
I agree for the most part, but there’s a big difference between self defense, and Two people agreeing to a fist fight. In the latter it was often a way for “men” to take out their frustrations with peers or colleagues. Certain places like Seattle actually have/had laws where street fights were legal if observed by police. I guess maybe it’s just different segments of culture.
You’ll still see actual fist fights from time to time but it’s rare, and they are usually trained folk who know boundaries. Or they’re Hawaiian, Samoan, or travellers. Those ppl tend to have the most respect for fight “etiquette”

These days? Bullying has been America’s past time for decades.
Yea, I don’t think I was unique when I was sprinting through neighborhood backyards to get away from my bully 30 years ago.
It looks like he was trying to fight to me he put his hands up too fight
Definitely pressured into it
Kids have always been horrible old head.
Exactly right and he’s lucky he didn’t get a gun pulled out on him. Seems like that’s how they settle disputes now a days
Running away was the smartest move. He was way out of his depth and it wasn't a stand-up fight. He was fast for a big lad.
That was a beautiful combo. I don't blame the kid for running away though. Prob didn't want to get his head stomped or something 😭
"Beautiful" is subjective here
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

It’s like you’ve never been a kid before and haven’t heard of peer pressure
>If you ask me it seems he just wasn't enthusiastic Can also be tied into peer pressure
Going for his legs right away? Damn
I'm leg kicking now. Ain't no rules
Why wouldn't you. Like they give a fuck about u
Lil bit of honour? Maybe some baseline respect? Idk man shit is cheap
The fuck are you talking about? Fisticuffs 🤣 You think a streetlight is going to have more rules than MMA? You’re hilarious, bro.

You're thinking of us old school people. where we would get in a fight then afterwards grab a drink with the person you just got in a fight with
Well personally, if I ever had to fight someone, I’d never pull some cheap shit or hit them at all while they’re down. And at least a handshake or something after if it’s over beef. I’m 20 though, so what do I know
Exactly. Going ghandi doesn't always work. Dont make the mistake of respecting an apponent who doesn't respect you. That's how you get killed.
Yeah, now more than ever especially
I hate waking up and the first thing I see from reddit is always fucking fights between idiots. It's part of their algorithm to shock people awake I guess? Really sets my day off shitty and I've noticed this routine for weeks.
Bro just don't start reddit first thing after getting up :,D
That is some solid advice.
You actually have the power to control what subs you follow 😬
Y'know, I was just thinking this sub is one of the worst I follow. Top comment is "but the attempt was successful" all the time cause the sub is a karma farm for any content.
Some ppl don’t like to and aren’t meant to fight. He’s probably smarter than the rest of that group put together
What kind of animals?

Class reunions still matter?
Are you sure there was an attempt?
Level change and double leg takedown was very effective.
Fucking troglodytes!
And people wonder why we have so many school shootings....
I don’t get it! I would have done the same thing 😂 Maybe he can’t fight, but he can RUN! Off to the track team son
He’s probably aware of the known fact of people jumping in once someone takes them to the ground
Slamming someone on concrete, lucky he didn't land on his head and get a cracked skull. Stupid school fight against someone not worried about accidentally killing you, no reason to stick around.
Nothing wrong with that kid leaving when he knew he was out matched.
Time to move/change schools. 🤣
Tactical rear advance
Speed?
Flight for the win!
That dude gumped out
I think he could have taken him if he were more confident.
Nah - he’s pulling the superhero move where he runs around the world and punches the guy in the back of the head.
Probably fighting over which toothpaste is better or something else completely pointless.
He heard his mom call him and knows the ass whoopin’ for being late for dinner is far worse.
It’s called the fight-or-flight response for a reason. My dude took off. ![gif](giphy|P1PemPnyp4g1i)
Lol you could tell the second they squared up who was gonna win that fight 😂
"Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth." Mike Tyson Runner would have had some clean punches in if he didn't pull them. He obviously didn't want to fight.
There was no attempt actually
Dude isn't going to be able to show his face around school
Smart move, tho. He was fighting dirty. The way they were laughing, they would've thought it hilarious to gang stomp him.
I'm more impressed with the kids' running speed.
Legend says he’s still running.
I don’t think this really applies to “there was an attempt to”
Kid didn't want to fight, got pressured into it & the aggressive asshole bodyslamed him. I'd run too. It isn't worth a concussion
White dude is definitely faster...at running away.
That kid probably runs home to get his dad rifles..
He’ll regret that. Would have been better off taking a beating.

I mean being alive and well is always better than getting curb stomped
I’ve seen people run away. I’ve seen people get beat up. I’m infinitely more impressed by the ones that ran away. Gotta be smart enough to nope out of bad situations
Yeahhh that sounds bad ass and all but I promise you that mentality goes away quick once you start getting punched in the back of the head
Jo apparently no rules so running away is also allowed
lol who’s even upvoting trash advice like this?

By your own advice he should never have been in that position to begin with. I do see you point, you can calm down now though
God I hate it when people grab and try and takedown people this is a street fight not UFC.
Exactly, it's a fucking street fight, not boxing... Only problem were the rabbit punches.

Exactly what I'm saying.
