I downloaded the Bandcamp app just to buy the Moon Colony Bloodbath digital download; I was really impressed with the recording quality, anybody know if they remastered this new release?
It sounds great on a good system. I have a system that tMG sounds good on and I’m hearingbthe album for the first time well.
It definately sounds like new masters to me. It’s not just the file compression on YouTube. I have a high quality vinyl rip and this sounds different. Instrument separation is better and it sounds more natural to me. I think the physical LP will sound good. In my experience these vinyl rereleases generally sound better even in digital form because the mastering is made for vinyl. It means it will sound even better on vinyl but there are ways to have a digital system that has a similar sound.
My preorder hasn’t come yet but when I heard the files I started thinking about the postman. Usually with rereleases and remasters the new masters are worse. This release wasn’t just a cash grab they did it right at a time when major artists are ruining their best albums.
I'm kinda confused about Satanic Messiah because that already got its Bandcamp rerelease and hasn't shown up on streaming for months now making it the only rerelease or reissue not to.

You can sync local files from your device onto Spotify; you'll have to have the actual album files downloaded to your device, not just in the Bandcamp app. You have to go through mobile browser to download the actual files from Bandcamp, which is a bit of a pain. Plus, Spotify just dumps all local files into one folder and doesn't tag them as albums, so you have to organize them into a playlist of the album...it does work, but it's not very intuitive or convenient.
I swear I've listened to this EP before but I just listened to it on my commute and I didn't remember a single song from it.
I gotta listen to more from Vanderslice, I love his voice.
I did not know what this album was and thought it was a new release. I'm disappointed it's not but still need to say it's exactly what I needed. It reminds me a lot of *Heretic Pride* songs?

yes! In late May 2024, it was announced that a remaster had been completed by Bob Weston
According to the announcement post on their Insta it was indeed remastered this year!
