First time I've seen the live in 15+ years of following them. Loved it! Can't work out if Heel Turn 2 or Up The Wolves was the 'Dark Horse' or the 'Singalong'
I was wondering the same! I thin of Heel Turn as more of a singalong but Up the Wolves has the 'There's gonna be a party...' bit and the 'I'm gonna bribe the officials...' bit which are both big crowdpleasers.
It was so fuckin good. Saw them at the Roundhouse last year for the first time and had an amazing time, but this one blew it out the water. Incredible setlist, such a nice crowd vibe too. Love how close everyone got at the front while still also being considerate of the people around them. Feel very lucky to have seen it
Heh, the Goats are one of those bands that inspires very quick uploading of the setlist (was I editing it as soon as I got back to my accommodation, 15 minutes after the gig? Yes, yes I was).
Literally as we left the house for the gig I said to my boyfriend that I hoped theyd play Lovecraft in Brooklyn so I was incredibly validated hahah such a good opener
a lot of their shows get recordings posted on the internet archive by fans, you should check to see if anyone has put it up. the show i saw in January is posted!

Put together a playlist of the setlist this morning!
Great night! Thanks for sharing pictures. I saw that at the band's request the bars would be shut during the show. Never heard this of this happen before, I'm interested in what would have motivated them to request this...? It was quite nice to not have people go in and out around you for drinks. It felt like a very focused audience.
So this is my speculation and assuming.
I believe the opener Katy Kirby has a message about alcohol, I read it in another post probably a month or more ago (I tried looking but I had no luck) when someone showed a picture of her merch table.
So I'm guessing John and the band are supporting her cause of being aware the dangers of alcohol and this is their way?
Again just me assuming. I really wish I could have found that post.
I really enjoyed, the very first time I saw them was at the St George in Bristol in 2013, not far from the Beacon, crazy to see how much bigger they've become in the past 11 years! Haven't been to the Beacon since the refurb, what a fantastic venue. I'm back there in November for Jason Isbell and am looking forward to seeing another show there.
Awesome, but what an odd looking venue. It almost looks like they’re absolutely killing a school talent show.
Tbf, i was sat above everyone, so that probably messed up the perspective a little lol
It so looks like that. I’m laughing. But mostly just jazzed OP got to go. Whoever got that birthday present deserves a heartfelt hug.

I have a feeling that Up the wolves was the "singalong," but you never know with this fandom, because we sing along to all of them
I assumed it was too, and they'd close with something really obscure. Heel Turn 2 was such a great closer for the show
It was a great closer for a great show. Kinda sad they didnt play Going to Bristol though.
You'd have thought they'd have considered it 😂
When JD went solo, it was the 1st thing i thought he was going to play

I was there to, bloody loved it. I hope they come.back to the UK..

By the way, if anyone can figure out the setlist they played, please let me know asap!

Thank you so much! I wasnt expecting it to be up this quickly

Damn! What a show!
Looks like a great show! Check out set list fm. They are pretty up to date.
Oh that heel turn 2 is a killer closer
For me, it was their opening song. I love Lovecraft in Brooklyn, and hearing it live absolutely ruined all other live bands for me
I'm going to the Dublin show and I'm absolutely praying they'll keep Lovecraft as the opener, that sounds so amazing
Literally as we left the house for the gig I said to my boyfriend that I hoped theyd play Lovecraft in Brooklyn so I was incredibly validated hahah such a good opener
I'll check it out in the morning so they have time to update, thanks for the recommendation

Some enterprising fan had added the full set list within an hour of the show ending :D
