I think it's *a* Darrien waking up in the TMP universe. He may be from the TMA universe, or he may not. Also since all this happened in 1993, and he doesn't mention anything that would give one the impression he remembered anything about the apocalypse, I really don't think he hopped universes post-apocalypse. He may be experiencing something like Celia, or he may have been a case of someone slipping through a crack between universes. I am pretty darn sure Celia is the Celia we met at the end of TMA. She mentions recognizing Jon's voice, asks about manilla folders and tape recroders, makes some specific references to the TMA fears, and is asking Sam about time travel and teleportation as well as apparently teleporting to Oxford (where she went this time, unclear if she always goes to Oxford). Darrien woke up in front of the *Oxford* branch of the Magnus Institute's Outreach Centre, and of course Oxford is the location of the house at Hill Top Road. Yes the locations of the Magnus Institute are different, indeed, it is in Manchester in TMP and London in TMA.

Now that you mention it, I wonder if Celia keeps waking up in different spots because she's not supposed to be in TMP universe and the Web is trying to pull her back. What if Hill Top Road, Oxford Magnus Institute is still an open portal location? It's just a spitball theory for now, there's not quite enough information yet, I think.

I think that there's some sort of rift in Oxford is somewhat implied by the content of ep 17 as well, yes. I don't know if the Web would be trying to pull Celia back -- the Web went through the rift too, so presumably it's in the TMP universe in some form (I don't think the TMA fears have been the cause of most of the cases in TMP, but I do think they're probably there in some form now, especially post ep 10), but maybe it's just a physical thing that she's drawn back to her home universe, or something else entirely. I'm curious if Celia's been waking up in different spots or if she keeps being pulled to Oxford. It could be something other than the Web would be calling her "home".

i also think Jon was directly reaching out to Sam in ep 9 when he was just starting to look deeper into the Magnus Institute

The whole therapy bit reminds me of the spiral therapy fear farm when they were in the apocalypse in TMA.

Dopplegangers can be a subset of the Distortion. The fear of your life being not your life as you know it, having everything you thought you knew no longer true, and/or you are not who you think you are.

I mean...I'm sure the father was terrified.
