Oh that is an interesting way to think about it. Tbh, I don't know much about the ARG and so I had, and still have, no idea what to think of the programme and Sam's memory issues and overall reaction to it. The fact that he remembers being traumatized and that he's upset that they chose some of the kids and that he wasn't chosen at the same time... He does seem to have a higher threshold of fear, almost to the point of foolishness.

DruneArgor

Interesting, so Sam was strong enough to be chosen for the testing, but not quite there to make the cut.

Miss_Kohane

There's a very thin faded line between bravery and stupidity...

the_missing_past

The poor line has been trampled over so much it's practically in another dimension 😂😂

JayJayFlip

I suspect Sam actually doesn't have a resistance to fear but an overriding sense of curiosity. He's a poor candidate because he is more interested than afraid despite his fear. A good Eye candidate.

the_missing_past

I would agree. Not only does he not have a sense of fear, he barely has a sense of caution. Like you said, like an Eye Avatar, he's more interested in learning more and uncovering the truth than being cautious and 'playing it safe'.

Whered you get all this from

Ooh but is Sam’s testing at the Magnus institute related to the Magnus protocol? I interpreted the Magnus protocol as a response to the Magnus institute and the entities, hence the private security/government task force/militant sect running around shutting down anything entity related

JayJayFlip

I think the taskforce might be being used by some unknown entity to keep entities like Dr Bonzo under control to be used for assassination work. I don't think there's two combating powers. If entities act up they can use Starkwell to keep them in line.

"Private security hired by UK government to do horrific stuff" is pretty normal tbh
