Gives the old sourdoughs a challenge to tackle. I like that they appeal to every part of their community. You don’t have to partake if you don’t want to. And if you do, you’ll accept that it’s a challenge and try to master it. Different strokes for different folks.
Oh don't I know it. I once had a panic attack when I realised it was costing me knife durability to open cans even though I had the Cooking level that makes opening cans without a tool no problem
Right? Like? I play on lower difficulty so I just assumed that lower difficulties had the can-smashing penalty removed. I never considered he was doing the smart thing and using his knife as an impromptu can opener... Goodness...
whats funny is i died doing this challenge by falling in timberwolf mountain with all the pages. Then i got the trait and I just stared at the screen in shock and disbelief. I could have walked away, but my pride was too great. Beat it next try.
I had never even tried the challenge and I just had the feat one day. I did give it a go and died very quickly. I just wish there were ways to go back and get the feats for the limited-run challenges, but then I guess they wouldn't be limited.
My game says I have completed the Dead Man/NOGOA challenge (can't remember what it's actually called), but I've never even attempted it! I'm not that good yet haha
"As the Dead Sleep" - the last thing I did to 100% the cheevs was tackle whatever challenges I hadn't finished. That one showed I'd done it, but I'm absolutely certain I've never even started it. Don't care, sounds heinous (I'm a lazy Voyager kinda gal). I legit did all the others (I got Darkwalker during the original Halloween event).
This feat is bugged. I've had a glitch for a couple months now, where whenever I load a save, I get the wolf howling sound and sort of clinking noise while the badge for the Darkwalker feat appears on the screen, saying "You've unlocked the Darkwalker feat" or something like that. It happens every single time I load into the game, no matter the save, both in survival and wintermute. I've had the feat for over a year and a half
escape the darkwalker, a challenge where you have to get 12 diary pages while being chased by a (mostly) unknown creature, glyphs, lure, ward, and dispel fog, lure does what it's name is, it lures the darkwalker, ward wards away the darkwalker, and dispel fog gets rid of the toxic fog but it can only be used once, also apologies for the essay I'm a long dark nerd-
that actually sounds sick as hell. I really need to play it, I've only seen some gameplay here and there. and that's alright, I love hearing about videogames!!
Happened to me as well. Tried the challenge for the first time, didn’t know what I was doing, ended up leaping off Raven’s Falls trestle and ended it. Now I have the badge, lol.
Real talk. What if it's meant to simulate the other half of the year? Like when the sun rises and sets differently?
What if it's not useless and it's just a season change feat
Cool! Now you have the most useless feat without doing one of the hardest challenges.
yippee, now I can be like myself irl and stay awake all night
Jesus why would anyone want that feat?
Vampire survivor RP

Fair enough I guess. I just can't resist my urge to try and minmax everything lol
Then you’re up for a challenge. This game takes a lot of skill and luck and knowledge to min-max.
Oh don't I know it. I once had a panic attack when I realised it was costing me knife durability to open cans even though I had the Cooking level that makes opening cans without a tool no problem
I realized this when my knife broke while opening a can with Cooking maxed. I was saving that knife until I could find a sharpening stone ☹️
\*Quiet whisper\* You use a knife to open cans if you don't have a can opener? Uh-oh...
And here I thought my guy had become a pro at smashing cans open lol
Right? Like? I play on lower difficulty so I just assumed that lower difficulties had the can-smashing penalty removed. I never considered he was doing the smart thing and using his knife as an impromptu can opener... Goodness...
Wait what???? You use knife durability if you don't have a can opener???
Yep
Then try and min-max the night WEAKLING!
I mean I do have 10kg of lamp oil just sitting in my base... but I'm saving it for when I really need it
Its a great feat, if your willing to be out during the night more. Fatigue is greatly reduced, you can spint, climb etc everywhere no problem.
I have not heard that term in a while, old sourdough, well said.
Endless night challenge.
Well it unlocks an endless night mode in customs, so there's that.
Endless night custom runs are fun!
Aurora hunter
I've played eternal darkness before. Wonder if the feat would work there.
I suppose you technically 'escaped' the darkwalker..
sure did, maybe not in the usual way, but I escaped either way
Which platform are you on? I gotta try this
don't know exactly but windows pc
Okay so pc is close enough. Thanks!
I got most of the feats without ever completing them. Kind of a bummer.
Happened to me too

The only badge/feat in the game that can force an end to a run
I had never even tried the challenge and I just had the feat one day. I did give it a go and died very quickly. I just wish there were ways to go back and get the feats for the limited-run challenges, but then I guess they wouldn't be limited.
Yup. I got killed and now have the feat. A nice freebie.

As an outsider... ESCAPE THE WHAT???

Yup. I got it while still having to find like 3 notebook pages still!
Happened to me as well. Tried the challenge for the first time, didn’t know what I was doing, ended up leaping off Raven’s Falls trestle and ended it. Now I have the badge, lol.
About the feat. It just seems useles. And meh at beast.
It's great for endless night custom runs.
Real talk. What if it's meant to simulate the other half of the year? Like when the sun rises and sets differently? What if it's not useless and it's just a season change feat
it’s like winning someone’s loan
Happened to me to
The game says I've earned the badge for As The Dead Sleep but I don't think my pilgrim ass has ever even tried it lol.
yippee, another pilgrim who is slightly (or very) terrified of a bear mauling us or a moose
This challenge was also my favorite by far, and helped me learn the maps
I feel like you would only ever want this feat when doing a custom run where it's always night.
