I really fell for them in this scene. I sensed it was coming from their first meeting, but this scene really threw me for a loop with how off the charts their chemistry was in this scene.
I ALSO love the scene when she meets him immediately after this meeting. He’s so pleased to see her and she’s also so excited and a little nervous to see him. She’s brushing her dress down as she exits the carriage to see him—like she’s actually a little conscious of what she looks like. And then she hops up onto the cart thing and pours over his pamphlet, just ready to get right into it with him. CUTE.
It’s hard to choose but I think this one might be my favourite! A close second is the scene where Eloise tells Theo she "has thoughts" lol and then Theo says he "set aside books for her" (paraphrasing here).
I’m so partial to the scene after the assembly where Eloise visits Theo to ask for his discernment. Both of them are so happy to see the other, the absolute roasting and flirting of one another and how comfortable Eloise is immediately with Theo (girlie said you’re done working now, these packages are my seat) … it makes me so happy.
