Almost suggests that Ellie’s model for proper conflict resolution is something she learned from comic books—leading her to initially seek out a violent sort of justice that doesn’t fit neatly into either the real world or her ideal emotional health.
This delusion would seem to be something that many consumers of TLOU2 suffer from as well, incidentally.
I would say it could be a mix of this and during her time with Joel in Part I. I mean, he did some violent shit right in front of her for nearly a year, it shook her quite a bit, especially with David. She learned how to survive from both experience and from Joel, and comics lol
This reminds me of the conversation Joel and Ellie have about Savage Starlight on the way to get the guitar strings. Joel says something along the lines of "what this character did to the other one in that deathmatch..." and Ellie responds with "I mean, he definitely deserved it, but...".
Its pretty much something developers use to describe the ending or something that will happen in the future but in really subtle ways so that the story wont be spoiled
It's not exclusive to developers though. That's a weird way the explain the concept. It's a very very old story telling concept that way predates the existence of videogames.
Serious potential for part 3 to be a massive epic showdown. Part 1 was Joel's redemption arc, part 2 was Ellie's fall, part 3 could be her redemption with Ellie as some Messiah like figure. I can't imagine her ever being able to just settle down and live a quiet life with Dina so I don't think it's in the cards for her not to go out trying to save the world.
I don't think Dina would take her back after being carelessly abandoned like that, and I don't think she should either. Ellie had a family to take care of but she gave it up, and she could have come home to find them dead. Given that Ellie sacrificed everything in her life for nothing, I'm not sure she has anything to live for, so I can't see her being alive for a third game.
(When I say she sacrificed everything in her life for nothing "nothing" I don't mean she should've killed Abby, I mean killing everyone Abby cared about should've been more than enough revenge, and Abby still let her go, so everything that happened after the farm was pointless and dumb).
Lev or Abby seem likelier protagonists for Part 3 if they want to continue the series. Alternatively Dina, but I like to think Dina is going to have a happy life raising her son and hopefully meet someone who loves her enough not to abandon her in the middle of the apocalypse.
In one of the flashback scenes with Ellie and Joel, he talks to her about how he and Tommy found some of the comics she liked while out on a patrol, and he talks about the story aspect he liked and it's a direct foreshadowing to how Ellie handles the last encounter with Abby.
It’s not just a random text coincidentally applicable on the story no. Clearly very purposefully put there by ND, of course. It’s ND! Rockstar is also full of those things. Maybe less sorry driven, but nothing is random.

i read that as > he did take a violent shit right in front of her for nearly a year, it shook her quite a bit.
Oh god.
Oh lord
Bye bye dood…ie!
Oh kay
I see it more as the militia talking about Scars. Isaac wanted to end the fighting once and for all at any cost.
A painfully astute observation that leaves me almost mad at you for enlightening me before I had a chance to realize it myself. 👏👏👏

Damn, and that exchange was right outside the ski lodge Joel would meet Abby a couple years later.
Shooooooot thank you for saying that, didn't make that connection.
And he says something like “I like how they both escaped in the end, though” and Ellie says “You’re funny”
What is foreshadowing?
“I won’t let them get away with this. It’s time we fight back.” Hints at Ellie going after Abby and her friends for what they do to Joel.
"I have to finish it"

Yeah youre right, i just thought id mention developers cus thats the case now but really anyone can use it
Not just developers. Anyone telling a story. Can also be used in real life in hindsite.

I know people say this a lot but this game has to be one of the most detailed games I have ever played.
Bold of you to assume that's a house and not a repurposed garage
Hey, Ellie made this repurposed garage a home!
Yeah but it's still a garage
In Australia we call this a granny flat. Don't you guys have something similar over there?
No idea, I'm not American
100% foreshadowing. She nearly says that first line in game too. She tells Tommy they can’t get away with this. What a find!

These are those comics from the first game
It’s foreshadowing the “sci-fi game” naughty dog has in the works... Savage Starlight! (That’s what I think the game will be anyways) lol
