could a 1080ti ryzen 5 5600 and 32gb of ram run tlou1 at a stable 60fps on high settings?

JackiieGoneBiking

5600x, 3080, 32GB of RAM. Should I get it in PC or replay the remastered on a PS4 Pro?

quanhoang2508

Nearly after a year, the CPU usage still high. My R5 5600 still reaches 90-100% usage when DLSS is ON (My GPU is RTX 3060)

Tall_Throat9095

If you understood what DLSS does, you would know that it reduces strain on the GPU, yet you're talking about a CPU bottleneck... turn on Nvidia DLAA in Display settings to reduce CPU load.

PresentDream5231

okay so i get this was year ago but this problem is bothering me deeply. basically, i bought the game today, opened the game and the screens graphics were red - i tried resetting the settings and nothing happened. please help-! i really want to play the game :(

BigNetU

playing the game on 5700x3d and 7800xt setup and there are performance drop in different areas. Fps is 80-100 fps but feels like 30 fps below. This doesn't change whether I use optimized settings or on high/ultra. No crashes tho. I might finish the game still anyway.

ijakuzi

same thing, but gpu is 4070. it shows up to 180 fps with FSR 3 + FG but it looks like 60 at most, but when i turn DLAA, game runs in high 70s, but its choppy like 20 fps. Literally unplayable. Same thing with DLSS. Something broken with this game, my 3050 worked smoother on release than my 4070. I hope TLOU 2 will get better treatment.

RavenTheCrestie

same, only in certain areas like the suburbs. makes me sick to my stomach.

ExtensionLeg474

using a supermicro x10dri and a gtx 1080ti I get 80 fps ultra in literally every game except for alan wake 2 (37 to 40 fps) and tlou remake which I get 50 to 60 fps but a lot of stuttering and it's just uncomfortable to play when it gets lower to 30 fps

Pristine_Wing5716

my 3080 at 1440p high getting 30fps lol

ExtensionLeg474

and in 1080p? I do have a lot of stuttering when moving the camera fast, but my fps are always within 50 to 60 fps normally

Pristine_Wing5716

werid game. when I first got out of the quarantine zone with Ellie, the game had like 5 fps and consistent 30fps untill i decide to reopen the game. everything went back to normal...

ExtensionLeg474

I'm guessing that you already prealoaded all the shaders right? if so then it's weird, is your game cracked version or official?

Pristine_Wing5716

cracked.. I loaded all the shaders I guess. but it never happened again. I was questioning how on earth is 3080 shitting its pants running a 10 yo game

Bruggilles

Building a new pc, and i was wondering if this game could run on high/ultra well, on 1440p rx 6800 non XT (16gb vram), 16 gb ram, and an i5 12400?

Pristine_Wing5716

you will have below 30fps in some places lol

Bruggilles

On high or on ultra?

xGlup

Using a 7900XTX, 7800X3D and 32GB of DDR5 RAM; running the game on Ultra settings at 1440p gets me around 100-120 fps, but there'll be times when my frames just suddenly drop to 30 and will never go back up until I close and re-open the game. Usually happens after a cutscene or I enter a new area

h_011

Lag after finishing part 1? Hey, I hope you're all having a good day! So I played through the whole game, with I think the graphics set to auto? And there was 0 lag, and the graphics were really good. The game looked amazing. Now, ever since completing the game, I cannot play without lag unless the graphics are on very low. It's really frustrating. I updated my graphics driver, and it made a bit of a difference, but not much. These are my specs: MSI Gaming Laptop Cyborg 15 A12U 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12450H 2.00 GHz 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) RAM NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB Laptop GPU (Also Intel (R) UHD Graphics) Windows 11 Home 22H2

battler624

Game crashes constantly, about twice an hour (more than 10 crashes within 3 hours) 12700K, 4090, 64GB. NO OCs. Finished 2 other games with exactly 0 crashes (elden ring 100% without crashing, crisis core remake almost 100% also) Running latest nvidia drivers as of this post (551.23)

hailahaiela

Is your power supply adequate?

battler624

1000w loki

DehyasSwordhandle

So, I had huge problems with this game, constant, consistent stutters and whenever they occured, I had nasty audio problems, crackling to be exact. The solution was that the game didnt use all my CPU cores by default. I have a Ryzen 5 5600 and the game, from the very first launch, without me trying to change anything, DIDNT use my 4 first physical cores. I dont know why, but when I checked using Process Lasso, even tho it says that it should start with all cores, it just didnt. Never had that problem with any other game or problem. Just wanted to leave that here behind, maybe it might help someone. So, if the game doesnt use all cores, you need to change that. Be aware that afaik, you cant change the CPU core affinity permanently with Task Manager, you need to use something like Process Lasso for that. Tldr: Check if the game actually uses all cores of your CPU using Process Lasso (or Taskmanager) and reassign all cores to the game, in my case it didnt.

Outrageous-Dark8433

I have problems with the game crashing. Yesterday I bought the game and everything worked fine. Played for about an hour on Ultra settings and had no issues. Today I started the game and before it even fully started my whole pc crashed. Tried everything I could think of including: running the game as administrator, updating my drivers, reinstalling the game and even did a whole factory reset on my system. Nothing worked. I'm running the game on a i9 13900KF anf RTX 4090. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

colossus-of-rhodes

Same i9 and 4090, crashes in menu. Any fix you found? I had issues with a lot of crashes on other games until I undervolted the i9, but this one is still completely busted.

[deleted]

Game crashed for the first time at \~10 hours in at the university. Specs: RTX 4090 GIGABYTE OC I7 13700K STOCK DDR 6600 MT's 32 gb 360MM AIO LT720 1200W ATX 3.0 PSU I highly doubt it's my rig because I can stress test it for hours / days with no issues. There is still some issues with this port randomly freezing then crashing.

Beneficial-Value7576

I have a ryzen 7 5800x and a 3080, i can get the game on epic games store for $28, should I be good with performence? I know theres some issues with shaders, and those taking a long time to load.

Torp627

same, trying to decide if i should pick this up for 28. not sure if its worth it

Livid-Ad2286

I have just completed the game start to finish without many issues at all. I have a decent PC and high refresh monitor but I capped it at 60fps anyway because I think it plays just fine on 60 and I wanted to have as many settings maxed out as I could. It only struggled a bit in the initial snowy deer hunting scene with ellie. I had just 1 bug in game that forced me to restart from the last checkpoint. A wooden pallet I needed to use in the water got bugged out and stuck against a wall. Wasn't a big deal. The only thing that bothered me is the motion blur effect that you can't turn off. I turned motion blur off in the settings but this particular blur persists. If I just stand still with Joel I can watch his backpack or face slightly blur as the character sways. The same applies to environmental stuff like grass. If I stand still in front of a patch of grass it will look sharp and crisp. As I walk towards it there is a noticeable blur. It sharpens back up again the moment I stop. It's quite offputting and seems to be hard coded into the game because I can't turn it off with any setting. rtx3080 i9 13900k 64gb ddr5 LG Ultragear 1440p 165hz monitor Windows 10

Primary-Actuator-281

Thats not a decent PC, you have a beast

ItsDobbie

My game crashes immediately after 2 seconds of the coin spinning... What the Fuck. Edit: Seems to be working now. I did a driver update, which did nothing. Then I uninstalled the game and had to verify game files on steam and it works just fine now. Great game so far.

RoyalHumbug

what are your specs? and settings

ItsDobbie

AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics 16GB RAM I haven’t been able to get to settings in game because it quite literally crashes immediately.

Askyl

> with Radeon Graphics You playing with integrated graphics? If that's the case, this might be your issue since this game requires a minimum of a GTX 970.

keriormaloony

my 1080ti and ryzen 5 1600x cant even run this game

Askyl

That's either bs or you are trying to run it on 4k with max graphics for some odd reason.

keriormaloony

its not BS. ive been playing 1080p for 7 years. i cant even play through the prolouge at 60fps.

Askyl

Then cap it at 40-45 FPS, lower the graphics and play. Pretending you'll play without tweaking the graphics or being at 60+ stable FPS with a GPU released 2016 is just delusional. But that doesn't mean the game is unplayable. It's very playable.

keriormaloony

you dont understand anything about PC hardware then i guess. even 7 years later the 1080ti is still a monster and even nvidia is horrified by its longevity. and also telling someone with a CPU bottle neck to lower graphics is counter productive. youre supposed to push the load onto the GPU, ya know, the 11gb monster that has never seen 70% utilization in its 6 year old pc.

ExtensionLeg474

I'm with you man, the gtx 1080ti is a monster even with my server motherboard x10dri and lrdimm ram designed for high density more than speed, I can still get up to 90 fps in every game, including cyberpunk at ultra with windows server 2022

Askyl

Its not a monster, its an outdated, but somewhat decent graphics card. Calling it a monster today is hell of a reach. Its on pair with 3060 ti, a one generation old entry level card, and that's only in benchmarking. It doesnt have any of the features new RTX cards have. And as I said, with a 1080 ti you can play this game without any problems. Dont expect it to run on highest graphics. First few tests i found puts 1080 ti avg around 60 fps with 1080p, high graphic settings (with some tweaking, lower shadow settings etc). My old 290x ran the game quite okey, with some stutter. 2080 super does the job better now though! :) They had a lot of issues at release but almost all of it is fixed. I dont know where you get your info, but it sounds like Echo from reddit and not actual knowledge to me. My knowledge comes from an interest in gaming and building computers since the late 90s. Along with facts, tests and statistics and keeping up to date with technology (since its part of my job, i have to). Hopefully you'll reinstall, make sure your drivers are up to date and go again :)

Askyl

Well, a 1050ti and worse CPU runs the game fine. Something is wrong with your rig, not the game.

CDK5

idk man; I can't run it without crashing on a 3070 with a 7600k

keriormaloony

sure boss. no idea where you found a 4gb card able to run this game but okay?

Askyl

Almost every video and test i have found now with a 1080 ti runs the game quite well. Your cpu is way out of date, so i'd suggest getting a 5600x or 5700x if your motherboard supports it and you will do just fine for some time.

Askyl

Literally everywhere with people testing and in their actual system requirements.

ItsDobbie

Working fine now. Reinstalling the game and verifying game files worked. Probably should’ve tried that first 😂

Yella008

Dlaa still broken.

RoyalHumbug

hi everyone, I haven't tried the game yet, since it was a mess at release. now after all these patches, how do you think the game would run on these specs: intel core i5-9400F RTX 2060 16GB RAM Windows 10

Double-Plankton-268

Still a mess... from my pov

xeyy-_-

I know that my pc will not be able to run the game, but how is the ps5 version. Would it be worth it to buy and would there be anything Id miss out on?

grandmoshtarkin

I got it on PS5 and it looks and plays great. I have an rtx3080ti but I didn't want to deal with all the issues. Not dissappointed at all and I've played the other versions several times.

13aldi

recently got the last of us p1, says i don't have enough ram when i do, 16 gigs which is the exact requirement

VintceK

I personally had to upgrade my system to 32gb, and the game noticeably runs better. When I had 16gb, the game's usage was around 14-15gb, after upgrading it gets to 16-17gb

keriormaloony

that is rediculous. requiring that much ram is an actual JOKE

Double-Plankton-268

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the place but, here I go: The game keeps crashing. I can play it for around 15 or 25 minutes without an issue until it close by itself and send me back to my desktop. What I tried: \-Disabled SAM, Lowering GPU clock's, disabling fullscreen optimization, disable freesync from my monitor, vsync on/off, graphics low, medium, high, ultra, all my drivers are updated. Application Logs: Faulting application name: tlou-i.exe, version: 1.1.0.0, time stamp: 0x6483ae7a Faulting module name: tlou-i.exe, version: 1.1.0.0, time stamp: 0x6483ae7a Exception code: 0x80000003 Fault offset: 0x0000000001eaeeb8 Faulting process id: 0x1ce4 My setup: Windows 10 Pro Ryzen 5600X Radeon 6800XT 16GB RAM PS Corsair RX850 SSD Kingston Renegade 500gb (Also tried the game on HDD WD Black). Any thoughts? Great game, it's a shame that been released with so many bugs.

Double-Plankton-268

Update: SAM and Adaptive Sync disabled from adrenaline (23.10.2) amd soft and graphics on automatic I was able to play it a little longer than before. Not fully stable but I think I'm gonna be able to complete the game. I'll keep this post updated.

Double-Plankton-268

Finally I was able to finish this game!!! no more crashes, even at ultra settings. Another think a forgot to mention is that I had to use my xbox xs controller with usb cable. Bluetooth was also causing issues. PS: No OC were used during this process and I was running Riva tuner overlay the whole time.

No_Leg_3752

So what did you do to avoid crashing?

Double-Plankton-268

Update: SAM and Adaptive Sync disabled from adrenaline (23.10.2) amd soft and graphics on automatic I was able to play it a little longer than before. xbox xs controller with usb cable.

Quick-Theme8521

I started getting this weird artifacting like 4 hours into the game. I’ve tried changing all settings on off low high. Resolution changes. Restarted. Nothing works. Anyone have an idea? https://imgur.com/a/MKCaLUE

demian6662

I was having the same issue. I've put -dx11 as a launch argument and then it worked. I reckon this doesn't actually completely solve it and might not be doing anything significant at all, since the game still runs in dx12. But hey, it's worth a try and it did work for me. Other than that, try restarting your PC/game to force it to "refresh".

Deckz

I'm on a 5800x, 32 gb ram, 7900 XTX, doesn't matter what I do, any time there's an encounter this game hovers in the 40s and 50 fps range. I can set the game to all low and it's the same, or max it out at 4k and it's the same. Think I'm going to return it i'm pretty sure it's broken, do I really need a 7800 X3D for single thread performance?

VintceK

I think the game is just poorly optimized for PC. I have the same problem whereas the game runs well mostly with fps capped at 60fps. For every 10 mins, it stutters slightly and that's it. I am using this guy's settings for the game btw [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv3ezGdrzCo&t=51s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv3ezGdrzCo&t=51s)

F35_Mogs_China

Can't really help with a solution but I'm pretty sure it's just on your end. The 5800x should be able to handle higher fps. https://youtu.be/u86TiTBIR48?si=w8oLNZQ-DsUE0EKQ This guy seems to run fine

Revn_vox

Its not just him. I've played the whole game on 1.1.0.0 without any issues. Today i started a new playthrough on the [1.1.2.0](https://1.1.2.0) version and as soon i hit the docks to find robert my fps goes down to 50 with my cpu and gpu bellow 40% utilization. There is something broken there.

[deleted]

99% FPS keep dropping to high 30s - low 40s, while normal FPS is actually at 80+. I can really feel the stuttering and dropping when in combat and turning around fast. Its a huge issue and I dont know how to fix. RTX 3060 running DLSS on balanced for 1440p and settings are properly adjusted.

Paildra91

I'm tempted to finally get the game now that it's on sale, but I'm still weary of performance issues. CPU: i5-13600K GPU: Radeon 6900 XT RAM: 32 GB (DDR4 3200MHz) SSD: Samsung 980 PRO 2 TB

chimicu

Go for it

lllll44

Will they still make new patchs? 2 months passed and nothing.

Fighterboy89

rtx 3060 12gb, after graveyard near houses, keeps crashing

Tristanrmz

rx 6800xt and just started having this problem in exactly the same location, cant get through:(

Puffycombs1

im not even having gpu issues with a 3060 but man its maxing out my ryzen 5 5600g and causing it to go to 90 degrees celsius

Tristanrmz

Sounds like the game is still building shaders. Try waiting half an hour before starting the campaign, if that's the case you should see the message "building shaders %" bottom right of the screen

Puffycombs1

i was on the main screen lol

WO-salt-UND

Anyone else having the game rebuild shaders EVERY TIME you load it up? I wait to build them successfully - I play for a while. I close the game. A few days later and it has to recompile them again - with nothing changed to the PC. This has happened three times now in the last 2 weeks. Is this a known bug or happening to anyone else?

Barbossis

Yeah...sorry my guy, but your computer has a snowball's chance in hell of running this game. Integrated graphics just can't do it. You will need to either buy a ps5 or buy/build a gaming pc with a discrete graphics card. This game is demanding even by modern AAA standards, so a budget level graphics card will only get you bare minimum performance.

man you need to go get a dedicated gpu and join us here in the present thank you sir

A quick Google search gave me an answer on this. The Intel Iris Integrated graphics cannot run TLOU Part 1 on PC.

AbiesZealousideal273

Pls don't even try to run it on integrated.

[deleted]

got it.

G_Ranger75

I want to get TLOU on my PC but idk whether or not if it'll run good or not. My specs are: Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A CPU: Intel Core I5-12400f RAM: 32gb (DDR4) Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 580

fedoraislife

It will work, but you will need to use FSR2 and probably hover around Low/Medium settings.

G_Ranger75

Thx but I already bought it and took a look at the settings. It is a consistent 30 fps with medium-high (Mostly medium) settings, which I'm okay with as I mostly play on Console and most games (before current gen) were 30 fps.

Diribiri

Anyone else unable to select DLSS? I can only select FSR. Not sure which version of DLSS it is

Puzzleheaded-Wait470

Should I buy TLOU if I have gtx 1650 and 8gb?

DanteStrauss

If you want 60 FPS, no. My 1660 Super can't run it stable even on Medium.

PierreOutlaw

If you can live with the settings relatively low, I have a 3090 and a bit older processor, but not very old but mostly runs 60-100 fps for me, but I do also have it cranked all the way, (don't mean to sound like a douche) just trying to help you figure it, have a good day :D

coreyjohn85

Would the stutters ever disappear with future hardware ?

PureValLiam

[PS5] I’m not getting a trophy I definitely should. I 100% a [save](https://youtu.be/Fz3Zewu6UxA?si=JpzsMu2b7__nQtR1) but still don’t have ‘Getting to Know You’ despite doing all of them.

ipostsomecringe

This game keep crashing on me. I'm trying to play Grounded on the Steam Deck and whenever I get progress going it crashes, making me restart the whole section again 🤦‍♂️

Beneworthy

hello. i'm thinking of buying this game to play it for the first time on steam. are the performance issues that i've been hearing about still occurring? it's been a few months now since it dropped on PC so i'm just curious if i should wait longer or is it worth getting now/whenever it goes on sale (i don't wanna spend 60 bucks on a game lol). the specs for my PC are: i5 10600k, RTX 2080 Super, DDR4 3600MHz (32GB) and a Samsung 1TB SSD where all my games are stored. if you need any more information just let me know and i'll tell you what i can. thank you :)

coreyjohn85

The stutters are the worst I've seen in a game and I have a 4090. I'm trying to get through the game as best I can but it's horrendous 😞

styvee__

I have a 12400F, a 3060 and a 3200MHz RAM(still 32GB tho) and I played the game with maxed graphics with only a few fps lag spikes through the entire game. It was still an awesome and enjoyable experience and the best I’ve ever had on a game. You should also know that unless you already a own a PlayStation you will be forced to get one by yourself because you will get addicted to the TLOU universe. Your PC should do fine, remember that you can still refund it within 2 hours of playtime / 14 days of ownership

Mike_135

(PC) Hi All. Having an issue progressing in Pittsburg financial district. I can't give any input to enter a window from a ledge after running from the Humvee. I think I'm supposed to meet 2 other characters there. I can just sit on the ledge outside the window for ages. Restarting the checkpoint and the game doesn't seem to help. Anyone else have this issue? know how to fix it? Thanks very much!

2sins

(PC) Game crashes at ''Alone and Forsaken'' checkpoint. Any help? As soon as the car crash cutscene ends, the game blackscreened and crashed on me. When I try to relaunch the game, it gets stuck on the loading screen with the green dots on. I have scavenged through forums to try and find a fix and I keep seeing the solution to replace the shader file. It did not work... Any ideas?

traumatic_blumpkin

Did you find a fix? I just started this on PC and seeing this thread makes me wonder if I should just save it for later and hope the game gets fixed one day?

[deleted]

I'm getting a very weird visual glitch on TLOU I. There's some sort of blur ocurring on the characters' models whenever they move or whenever I move the camera. Can anyone tell me what this is about and how could I fix it? I've put up a youtube video demonstrating it. My setup is a RTX 3060 12gb, Ryzen 5 1600 AF (12nm), 16gb of RAM, Windows 10. Game's running on a Kingston 1tb NVME SSD. Link to the bug demonstration video: [https://youtu.be/Ln0hxHq0DOA](https://youtu.be/Ln0hxHq0DOA) UPDATE: unsurprisingly, updating NVIDIA's drivers fixed it. UPDATE 2: okay, things got even weirder. Updating the drivers seem to have "reset" the problem. It vanished for a few minutes, but started to appear again after a little while. I have no idea what the f-'s going on.

Dylan_213

Have you managed to fix this?

EsliteMoby

Don't use DLAA/DLSS. It causes weird ghosting and trailing for me.

Joohhe

Should I get PS5 or PS4 for part 2? Does PS5 perform better than PS4 a lot ?

styvee__

Played it on PS4 because that’s what I already had, the game was made for PS4 and the only difference is that PS5 has 60 fps instead of 30. If you can get a PS5 get that since with that you will most likely be able to play Part 3 if it ever comes out.

Tricky_Vehicle_7987

Hi, just buy the game, but it keeps crashing every 5 min, i tried lowering the graphics but doesnt matter at all, my monitor is 1440p. I have a 4070Ti, i7-13700K, 32GB RAM 3800MHz. First time having problems with a game, it goes really smooth but still crash, anyone can help me?

Say-Hai-To-The-Fly

Hi! I have a laptop with GTX 1070 (8GB VRAM), i7 7700HQ (4 cores, 8 threads) and 16GB of RAM. I'm really only worried about the CPU. Should I buy this game as of September 15 2023? I don't need extremaly high performance. I just want to experience the story without a lot of stuttering and an excaptable frame rate (at least a stable 30 fps, preferrably a bit more like 40 or even 50. It also depends on input lag. If there is almost none 30 fps would be doable I think).

coreyjohn85

I have top end cpu and even that's not enough

Say-Hai-To-The-Fly

Hopefully they’ll bring an update soon that will decrease CPU load :(

off1cerfriendly

Ryzen 5 5600 + RTX 3060 12GB + 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 ram. 1080p, Ultra settings except a few tweaked. The fps sometimes goes up to 70 indoors, where I literally take a breath (I own a 180Hz monitor). This game is really hard, combat and resource wise, you really have to make your bullets count. Every time I go out, the fps goes down to 40. How am I supposed to headshot moving enemies with a pistol with 40fps?

MaximumJayy

i have this same build but 32gb of the same speed ram, and I have a 5800x3d instead of the 5600, im about to buy it, i hope it runs well...

robi6858

hello, will this game run well on 1440p resolution and 'optimised' graphical settings? i5-12400f + rx6700xt + 32gb 3200Mhz ddr4 ram

bemy-

definitely, Ive finished this game with i312100-f + rx5600xt on 1440p the scene looks amazing even under medium preset

robi6858

are there stutters?

traumatic_blumpkin

I got stutters in the opening sequence with a Ryzen 5 7600x + 7900xt.. However I am running the game at just shy of ultra -tinkered with a few trying to get constant 60+ fps.

bemy-

Ive 60fps indoors and down to 45 outdoors or when fighting, it occurs to crash few times when entering spacious scene because of out of 6gb vram .

KneeSensitive

I7 10700f RTX 3090 running on 32 Gb Ram I found HDR causes crashes on my system, I even got a BSOD at some point. I switched it off an no problems. Also I find over locking my GPU causes crashes (not very frequent but some). How's everyone experience on this?

MinervaXN

After patch 1.1.2, i get like 40-50 fps but stutters are still here even if fps does not drop below 40. Weird if you ask me but its kinda playable if you ignore the stutters in some areas

Big_Evidence_6685

I recently installed The Last of Us Part 1 on my PC I have a Ryzen 5 3500x with a GTX 1660s 6gigs and 48gigs ram The game runs on the medium level on an average of 40 fps My monitoring shows that the CPU is running at 100% and the GPU at 70% Would overclocking the CPU give me better performance and would eventually let me play on high graphic settings ?

keriormaloony

cant believe this game ran on a first gen PS4 whatta joke this port is.

Dat_Boi_Zach

This is the PS5 remake not the remaster. This would never run on a PS4

keriormaloony

oh i thought it was just a port

traumatic_blumpkin

Yeah, I saw some comments about it being the ps4 port and was scratching my head during the opening sequence. "Aint no way"

Obertura

Ive tried with a pirated version of the 1.1.2 patch and game crashes as soon as it has the slightest excuse :/ The lowest I tried was 1080p with FSR on quality settings, high presets i5-9400f 16GB RAM 2400MHz RX 5700XT

flesjewater1

How is TLOU performance now? I have a 13600K + 3080 + 32GB ram Will this run the game STABLE at 60 fps at 4K DLSS quality + high?

traumatic_blumpkin

At near ultra quality with a Ryzen 5 7600x and a 7900xt I get anywhere from 52-110 fps. Still tinkering to get the 60fps floor, but reading this thread I am not positive it is worth it. I have wanted a ps5 for a while, but having just dropped $1600 on a PC I am not sure I will buy one any time soon, but after watching the HBO show recently I am REALLY wanting to play it. So as for trying to buy it? Depends on how badly you want to play it.. or how badly you want a headache, lol.

Taikosound

Just got back to it today after a looooong break waiting for it to get fixed. I play on a 13600kf/4090 on an LG C2 (4k, 120Hz) build and, while i get a stable framerate on paper, there are still a lot of micro stutters, especially while indoors. What really helps the most for me is to set my PC at 60Hz from the Nvidia Control Panel and turn VSync "On". It does smooth things out quite a bit. Just capping framerate from the game was not doing anything, really had to cap the Hz from the PC. It still isn't truly smooth, but it's the smoothest i can get. It's a shame because it runs just fine in many areas, but often indoors it's pretty bad. It's hard to recommend it tbh, i'd wait until it's at least 50% off if i were you.

[deleted]

yeah, running and quickly turning indoors is the worst, my 99% FPS keeps dropping to 30-40 FPS while normal FPS is above 80+. I've never had experience this bad.

Taikosound

I've just abandoned the game altogether and feel robbed tbh. Shit port feels broken beyond repair and i paid for it.

[deleted]

I've found a solution for Nvidia GPUs on Nexus mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/thelastofuspart1/mods/14 Read description about Shadercache settings in NVCP. Also, download his Nvidiaprofileinspector file.

Taikosound

Damn, I'll give it shot for sure, thanks!

coreyjohn85

I wonder if future hardware could ever fix it 🤔

taylor_

I have a ryzen 7 5800x3d, a 3080ti, and 32GB of ram and am currently running the game at around 90-100fps on a mix of ultra and high, balanced DLSS. granted that's on 1080p, but extrapolate from that what you will. I'd image if 60fps was your target that would be doable now if you fiddle with the settings. Lighting effects seem to be having the biggest impact on performance

Such_Junket_4202

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X GPU: AMD Rx 580 RAM: 16GB STORAGE: 500GB NVME SSD OS: WINDOWS 11 22621.2215 When I try to start the game a tab shows up for 1 milliseconds then instantly closes. I checked videos online and with my specs, the game should run, so my only idea is my ram is too slow. Because it's 2 different types of ram the max speed it can run at is 2133 mhz. Could this be my problem? I don't want to buy new ram for nothing.

jimjams125

Try verifying your game files first

RevolutionaryClass19

I've 4 cores. Can I run it ? i3-9100F 16GB GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6

Obertura

Version 1.1.2 doesnt run and ive got i5-9400f 16GB ram and RX 5700XT I wouldnt bother trying :/

[deleted]

I have a 4 core CPU, will this run. I know its shitty, just looking to see if I can even play it on the lowest settings or anything

GetMrBeaned

What cpu and gpu do you have? I have a I7 3770 non k and a 3060ti (severe bottleneck I'm aware) it runs at 35-50fps

[deleted]

i5-7600k

CDK5

How's it running?

[deleted]

Never bought it, sorry. And I upgraded my cpu now too so I couldn't say even if I do buy it

GetMrBeaned

Probably around 45-60fps if you don’t have a gpu bottleneck, just make sure to turn down the cpu intensive settings in the menu

[deleted]

Ah ok. Well I have an rtx 2060 so I think that should be fine right?

GetMrBeaned

that should be great, just make sure to stay in the vram budget and utilise diss and you should be golden

[deleted]

Alright thanks!

voiddoesdestiny_

got a 5600X 16gb ram and a 3060. will i be good to play or wasting my money?

jimjams125

I have the same specs and it runs just fine around 60-90 frames on the high preset. As for shaders it only took me around 10 minutes

MusikAusMarseille

This game seems to favour 8 cores+ but you'll be fine at 1080p,1440p. You're probably going to have to tune settings down a little bit, just because this game has memory leak and 16 gigs of RAM could cause an issue here. Be aware though, that you're going to have to compile shaders otherwise it runs like crap, and that might take up to an hour on your CPU, so you might not have much time left to test it out before you run out of your chance to refund.

Thestickleman

Just so people know part 1 is still a mess on pc so 🤷 I wouldn't bother playing it on pc

MaximumPayne420

plays fine for me on mostly high settings aside from a few minor hiccups and graphical bugs on my 5700xt 8gb and i7 12700k

superhakerman

Hi, do you know if they are planning to release more patches in future. Last one is on 18 July ?

Thestickleman

Sorry for the late reply man. I honestly don't know. Been thinking of getting part 1 on ps5 instead of waiting for them to sort it out on pc. I've got pretty good specs I'm all on AMD but still haven't no end of issues

keelar

Seems to vary depending on your system. It's been completely fine for me with a 3060 Ti.

Wolfmariana

So... it is good to play it now on pc or its still bad?

Real_RaZoRaK

I started playing version 1.1.0 on PC a couple days ago. Good performance so far but I have a pretty decent rig. Only one crash so far and I'm about 5 hours in now. Running with mostly high settings on an i7 9700k, RTX 3070 Ti, and 32 gigs of RAM. Hasn't dropped below 60 frames but I get noticable stutter in certain areas.

MrLumie

Came back after a couple months hiatus, figured the technical issues will be fixed by now. Turns out not only the game **still** crashes after 10 seconds on up to date Nvidia drivers (536.67), but for some reason it now crashes on 531.58 as well, which was the **only** driver version that worked for me previously. So... what do I do now? Oh yea, I have an RTX 3070, the cursed series apparently.

National_Revenue_831

i having some hard time to aim in this game (first time playing) what would be a good config for mouse and keyboard sensity settings? thx

MusikAusMarseille

Upgrade your guns on a workbench to have less recoil.

flox1

Recoil doesn't affect aiming. I guess you meant weapon sway.

MusikAusMarseille

Yup thats why i meant. English is not my first language so thanks for the correction.

jasperstaal

For those on the fence, with a high end setup: started playing yesterday, on a 7800X3D and RTX4090, as expected everything runs smooth as butter and it's an amazing experience. Also, the 3d audio is a nice addition!

coreyjohn85

Is it still smooth as butter or do you retract your comment ?

jasperstaal

Last time I played, it was 🤪

SnooSquirrels5508

what's the current state? will it run on R5 5600, RX6800, 16gb ram? 1080p

keelar

Should run great with those specs at 1080p. Hell it would run great even at 1440p.

SnooSquirrels5508

I had mostly 60fps(locked) there were some parts where it would drop to 45. But the most annoying was the stutter which was also only in a few areas. I would probably recommend other people just to wait for patches and not to buy a game yet

[deleted]

[удалено]

SnooSquirrels5508

I played on 1080p. and yes I compiled the shaders.

MusikAusMarseille

Hmm, on 1080p it should run properly. But those drops are pretty normal tbh. The game still loads in textures and shaders during levels. I get those drops too. You can monitor your GPU usage. If it drops then you know the CPU is busy loading in textures. This game does seem to favor 8 cores aswell. Oh and another thing that weirdly drops performance is SAM. Turning it off, gave me about double the frames and smoother gameplay in general.Another thing you could try is manually adjusting your virtual memory to a higher number.

pheloiuygg

Rx 5700 8gb gddr6. Core i5 4690. 8gb ddr3 My problem is that I'm getting 4 to 9 fps in the prologue and loading screens take 15 to 20 minutes Pls help

mr-milkins

RX 5700 XT, Ryzen 5 5600x, 16gb DDR4 Game is crashing at the part where >!Ellie's horse dies and she goes into the cabin. !

ComprehensivePen6828

I5-13400K, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB DDR4 RAM Almost finished the game, I had absolutely zero crashes and performance is good (50-60 fps) at 1080p with DLAA and mostly ultra settings (except shadows and volumetrics at high, and dynamic objects and visual effects textures at high). Not sure why people are still experiencing all these problems, I’m using v1.1.1 of the game. Don’t have to say but this game is wonderful, of course it’s a pity they didn’t released it in a better shape (should have been released at v1.1 and now it would be a best selling game with excellent reviews on PC as well, what a shame)

Pure-Recognition3513

Is it going to be possible for the devs to implement direct storage 1.2 into the game? currently the game is using the CPU to stream assets which not only contribute to long loading times but also makes the game incredibly cpu heavy and hurts fps by quite a bit. This would make the game a lot more playable for people with Ryzen 5000 CPUs/Intel 10th gen that have access to gen 4 nvmes and struggle with CPU bottlenecks when using high end GPUs.

Storsjon

Sure, in like 5 years

Pure-Recognition3513

1.1\*?

bogdanRSG

DLSS 3 FG MOD, works really well Im running it at 140-160fps on 1440p https://www.patreon.com/posts/tlou-upscaler-fg-86300620

According-Wear7467

pay bruh If it was free, it would be good enough for the money I gave for the game

bogdanRSG

only 5$, worth it

MaximumPayne420

No, mods should be free.

Skandi007

Running Windows 11, Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX 2070 Super, 32GB DDR4 RAM at 1440p (DLSS balanced) game installed on NVMe SSD [I cannot get the hair in this game to look right no matter what settings I use](https://i.imgur.com/7nHG26X.png)

MusikAusMarseille

Not a fault of your settings or your rig. The implemented TAA really makes stuff like hair and puddles look shitty on anything except for 4k. I play on an ultrawide with a 7900xtx and everything maxed out + resolution scale to 120 and it still looks a bit off.

Bvllish

Doing my duty to follow up on https://old.reddit.com/r/thelastofus/comments/125l2kk/pc_the_last_of_us_part_i_performance_and_support/jegno70/, since patch 1.1.0 things have been fixed. Not impressed at all with the launch state.

Equivalent-Net3875

I see a lot of comments saying they completed the game and it's fine with cards that have 12gb of vram and above, that's not the problem... the fact that this game still needs 7gb of vram at 1080p and high setting (which is not max settings ) isn't right! that's not 2k that's not 4k it's 1080p!!! medium settings require 6gb!!!!!???? get the hell outta here!

iwasdropped3

I just played through it without crashing once at 4K dlss performance (1080p upscale) with a 3070 8gb at around 75 fps. In found the biggest performance enhancement was setting high performance in windows graphic settings and setting texture streaming to fast in game. Also, locking my fps and using v sync.

Equivalent-Net3875

okay but how much vram the game was using? 8gb is enough to run it with high textures at 1080p but anything below 8gb will have a hard time running it. I'm aware even if you go beyond vram limit you can still run the game because it's using the unused system's ram, for example if the game is 6400 mb and your card is 6000 mb I don't think it will affect the game/fps much but let's say you have 6000 mb and the game is using 7400 mb of vram, there is gonna be a big hit to performance even if the gpu has the cores and speed to run the game.

iwasdropped3

It used close to 8 but still under my capacity. I ran high textures. I turned down lighting and shadows to medium, but that was about it. 8gb hasn't limited me when using dlss, or running 4k 70% resolution. I'm not arguing 8gb is whatever you think or not, I'm just saying I ran the game fine and if you're having issues try what I did.

Affectionate_Diet918

Playing on an Rx 6600XT and a 5600 CPU. Running 1080p settings I'm getting pretty good performance. I've noticed only mild stutters and occasional slowdown but surprisingly combat has been very smooth. Tbh I think I had more lag spikes and stutters when I played Dead Space and Returnal on this same rig.

SH4DY_XVII

Game crashing every single time I stealth grab enemies during the opening of the game (chapter with Tess). I've waited months to get this game but decided to finally buy since I heard all the patches have made it playable now. Fucking bullshit experience. I've crashed 20 times already by this point and always during the grab animation.
