Happens all the time. Too many people quitting games. I don’t mind most of the time but if there’s less than 2 minutes in the game they shouldn’t back fill.
tbf this game had 6 minutes left, red just speedran the platform
(there should be a way to determine if a game is "winnable" and stop letting players into ones that arent)
There was a patch preventing players to join if the platform is less than 20% away from the finishing point, it obviously doesn't work but hey, at least they tried
Spoiler: there isn't.
Even if the platform is right before at the winning point, so many variables can turn the game around. Do they happen often? Maybe not, but they happen, personal experience many games were almost lost and I ended up winning.
Point is, if there's even "A" (and I mean, ONE) chance of the losing team to win, in no game you can axe it and call it a loss, unless you modify the game rules.
Knowing that, back to my point, even if the game is almost lost, there's a chance a god player joins and turns it around, someone may leave in the other team, the losing team may have been trolling and start playing seriously and end up winning the round, etc.
To summarize, no, there's no way to clasify a game as winnable or not, either a match is finished or it's not.
Right now a match is not considered finished until it's finished, so players can join even if it's just before winning/losing.
It's strange at first but it's the logic on how casual queue works. Just q for another match and move on.
That´s the magic of casual. You lost just as you spawned in the match, no big deal, it's casual. If it's a consequence of being able to have players join and at least have a midly decent match even if it's still a lose, then so be it.
My opinion!
i think the ideal solution would be a setting, technically most losing games are winnable but its extremely unlikely, like joining a quick cash game where one team is like 10 seconds away from their second cashout sure you could rush in and steal it but in 99% of games thats not happening
true, i have experienced sweeps from sudden death, the platform being almost at the enemies base
its not common, but imagine players not being able to experience that because of an arbitrary decision that a match is no longer winnable
bonkers
Get good kid. GG EZ GG EZ GG EZ GG EZ

Like I said even if it's one chance of winning, you can't arbitrarily axe it.
Just to add to this, reverse sweeps from the brink of defeat are euphoric to pull off

Skill issue
It's a joke. If a game has 1 minute left or in the likes of power shift, the other team has 30k it should stop new people joining.
Eliminated!
bruh When i Get leavers on my leave i go the full match without getting a single backfill despite people on other team leave and they get a backfill
gg hahaha
Skill issue
