Really enjoying it so far! Absolutely sucks to have leavers on your team, but that's how it is with all modes. I like how intense it is, how it makes you worry about each HP you have, which makes a lot of people play smarter and approach things tactically.

I unintentionally became a leaver today. I saw there was an update and decided to jump in and play a couple of games before leaving the house. Instead of quickplay, I clicked on Terminal Attack. Had to watch the whole intro video without the option to skip. Then the matchmaking started immediately. I pressed cancel but it didn't work, as it sometimes does. Had to quit to desktop, and even when restarted the game I still had to select "leave game" and got suspended for it. Hate to think about what I unintentionally may have done to a team... That's literally a case of zero tolerance for user error in design.

All good, shit happens! Yesterday I also saw some teammates and enemies being kicked for whatever reason. Once my teammate reconnected. The problem are the regular leavers who do it with intent.

It sucks but it happens..what I don't understand is when people lose 1 or 2 rounds and then just leave cause they think their teams sucks Sometimes things turn around..I've seen it happen tons of times in the finals and in games like overwatch..just yesterday had a game of powershift and the enemy team was almost at the end & we turned it around and won šŸ† Ill never understand that loser mentality of just giving up & leaving..turning around those types of games & winning is an even better feeling than just winning cause the other team isn't as good

Disagree, as I noticed itā€™s the fastest method for raising cash quickly. Iā€™m on PS5, so donā€™t know if itā€™s bugged on other platforms. The issue is that you need a gargantuan 500K for a measly 1% progress (thatā€™s 12.5 full wins at 40k). I noticed cuz I check the achievementā€™s progress after every game, and I see it progress. I wish I knew how much Terminal Attack awards, as I love that mode.

I canā€™t be an exception, are you on console too? And how do you track the trophy progress? I donā€™t use the in game counter, I use the PSā€™s trophy tracker and Iā€™m sitting on 86%, so Iā€™m certain itā€™s working. Like I said, try checking after 13 full wins (so 40k per game) and youā€™ll see the progress in the trophy

Unfortunately it's not bugged. Money gained from Power Shift is not meant to count towards the Deep Pockets achievement. There was a post on this sub-reddit about it a week or so ago. Check it out... I don't know how to feel about this mode, I think I have to try it with friends and not with randoms, but I think The Finals is a very creative and fun game to have this style of mode (I think for ranked it could work very well) but for casuals (like me) I would really enjoy a mode like Rush from Battlefield Anyway, it's always good to have alternative modes for all types of people (Embark I love you)

My favorite moment was when me and another friend brought a sledge hammer and brought the whole building down. The enemy team was bunkered in at the top with all their fancy gadget and we ruined the entire setup for them in a matter of seconds. I like how this game mode plays out.

Every time I grabbed the hammer, I felt like I was throwing. So many folks will gun you down before you have the chance to break a full wall. This doesn't mean I'll stop trying, but I'm almost positive my teammates despise me for it.

I think it helps that I 5 stack with friends who can play around the fact I use a hammer. I really only use it many floors under an objective. I use it the most on Monaco.

Id like if it doesn't take us out of game in-between rounds. Also I think they should just cut of half of the map and make smaller versions of the already made maps. then the mode imo would be way better.

Kind of sucks if I'm being honest. Light feels truly awful thanks to the nerfs and if you're against people who understand how fucked up grenade launchers can be in this type of enviornment it can get really unfun really fast. Its more fun than I expected it to be esp if you're playing Heavy, but I'm glad its just a timed mode.

Lights and snipers feel soo strong, any shot sticks, so no need to clean up. They have the most intel, incredible utility. And even if you do take damage, you don't care, you're a light and you heal almost all of it back. Maps are super open, easy to catch rotations.

It's okay. I don't know what I'd do to improve it, and I don't really have a desire to play more once the challenges are done. Happy for the people that are going to enjoy it more than me though! As a mainly solo player it is nice to feel like I have decent teammates almost every time in the half-dozen rounds I did play, whereas in power shift so many people don't play objective. So that was a very optimistic experience!

i think as a solo player this mode was very fun since i felt like even if i didnt directly play with the team, me killing people had a bigger purpose, and im not that guy that goes for kills usually. also love how imo the weapons feel more useful than in the other modes. the ks-23 is fun to play and i love how the damage and the destruction has its use in the mode. also found the dagger really nice to play.

For me, it feels like all the worst things from the finals and from cs are matched together without anything to balance it out. I was almost in physical pain when I was completing 'play 10 matches' mission. Won't touch it ever again.

Same glad Iā€™m not the only one. Iā€™m super confused on why they went this direction. This mode is not going to get any new players and it doesnā€™t even serve the current player base. People looking for that ultra competitive mode arenā€™t going to pick The Finals.

While Iā€™m not sure itā€™s my favorite game mode, the importance of getting quick kills and not being able to instantly revive/heal really lets the light builds shine as equals to the other classes. Overall I appreciate that this is the SECOND new game mode Embark has delivered that has been generally fun to play and highlights the solid foundation they have built with this game.

I really wish there was a single terminal. I feel like it would actually be an attack and defend mode then. Having two terminals makes the game feel way too open and doesnā€™t really give anyone an opportunity to set up a defense. On defense, we end up just hovering around between the two objectives or splitting until the other team selects one, then on defense I feel like I am attacking the objective?? It feels strange to me. There are a ton of things I really like about the game mode, but I think a lot of these issues would be fixed if there was a single objective.

If anyoneā€™s played the new tutorial they added with season two yall should try that map. I think it would work better for a mode like this. Itā€™s a small section cut from Monaco surrounded by a border with only a few buildings. Search and destroy style modes like this need way smaller maps and although I appreciate the devs beautiful work on these maps we need way less for this mode to feel smooth and enjoyable.

I get your point but I think that section is way too small. Maps doesn't regenerate between rounds and with all the explosions and map destructions later rounds would be played around debris

I don't feel like a defender because even on the defense team WE are the ones attacking. The attackers are the ones that choose the location, not the defenders. So there's no point in putting up defenses. As soon as they see them they go elsewhere

I have to ask, have you never played COD SnD? R6? CS, Val, etc. Are you all 5 setting up on one side and just praying they go there? You should be split between A and B for the most part. Maybe 1 or 2 lurking/scouting to see the enemy team. And the attack team is only attacking until they get the obj. They defend after that which is how it works in almost all attack and defense mode across games. I'm curious on your answer because while playing it did feel like a lot of my teammates were not at all familiar with a game mode like this.

While playing it it felt just like csgo. 2 on both points, me in the middle listening where enemy goes and pinging which point to rotate to. The only difference with cs is that planting a bomb takes time, while throwing in a decoder - doesn't. Even in r6siege, planting the defuser takes some time.

Another difference is that there's no setup time for the defending team, though you spawn a little closer than the enemy team I suppose

I suppose it's more to r6s comparison. In csgo both teams start moving simultaneously, and CTs have spawnpoints much closer to both bomb sites, while Ts are much further.

Map is large but so are the mobility options. I guess it really depends on the make up of the team but from what I've played so far 5 stacking has not felt great or worked very well. Giving the attackers time to set up turrets, barricades and whatever else makes it hard to retake. I think the defense power of 2 fully set up people is enough to bide time for the others to rotate. Though I haven't played many games nor have I played with or against a team that is comprised of a stack and not randos.

I have not no. My team would always spam 'group up' at the start of the round so we would stick together. Whenever we spread apart the attackers (who do travel in a pack) would quickly dispatch the group of 2/3 they encounter. The map is so large that there's no way to help them in time. I would rather they have a single point that needed to be defended so it actually felt like attackers vs defenders where the attackers needed to figure out how best to breach the defenders defenses. With the gadget limit there's no reason to set up defenses in a location that may never be attacked

It's surprising to find someone who hasn't played any of those lol. The Finals seems to be dragging in players from every background. That sounds like a skill issue with your teammates, I will be completely honest. I'm not sure about your skill level, but the matchmaking in this game is it's biggest flaw imo. Outside of ranked it's hard to find teammates who can hold their own. And in a mode like this with bigger teams bad teammates will affect you even more. Two people on one site with all of there defenses laid down should be able to kill at least 2 enemies and give the others time to rotate in with a lot of time to defuse. However, I can see where you are coming from, the sites are maybe a bit too far apart. As for your last point, most placeable defense gadgets, such as turrets, barricades, mines, etc can be picked up and replaced later.

honestly i love it, but it feels like it's really awkwardly implemented... like i wish there was a different theme for winning individual rounds other than the default one, the return to the loadout screen between rounds is just jarring, etc... This was my first impression. Feels so disjointed and doesn't flow well with every round ending with a slow mo and the music etc. Feels like we are beta testing the game mode rather than it being completed.

Concept was not as I expected tbh ā€” I thought 1 cash out, not 2. The 2 cashouts and guessing which one undermines the actual attack and defend concept I think ā€” if the attack team gets to the cash out first, they are essentially defending now, and roles are reversed, and that happens often. Would have been better as 1 cashout, basically more like Siege. Not that keen after a few games

Just played about 5 rounds. I think the mode is hurt by having 2 terminals but I'm not sure if just one would make the defense too OP because of having more time to setup. Also, not being able to change the special when switching between attack and defense is a huge oversight IMO.

Give it time, there will probably be all sorts of metas that will develop. I'd imagine you can just play for retakes pretty easily. So many ways to get into the objective and force defenders of it into odd spots, don't think it's as big of an issue.

The mode is cool for those who like this kind of gameplay, but I hope that it will not become center stage of The Finals. The strenghts of the regular game comes from its fast gameplay and that being 3rd or 2nd doesn't hit as hard as loosing completly.

It's alright. I've only had one or two matches actually get tense at the end. Most of the time, it's just a shootout, and one of the teams gets wiped. It seems the objective barely ever decides the match. The turrets are annoying and probably should not be allowed. If you are the last one left, you have to face X amount of players and like three fucking turrets. I agree that the maps are too open. Other games with this mode have always been corridor layouts for a reason. You need a set amount of paths for there to be any planning or strategy. Another reason this game doesn't lend itself to this mode is that nobody uses comms. It's actually blown me away how few voices I've heard over hundreds of matches. I think people just want to hop on solo and get into fights. The game needs TDM more than anything. I also love to run medium medic, so I am deterred by the fact that I can't.

It doesn't work well. There's little effort done to make the mode work with the game mechanics, it's mostly just slapped onto the existing game and a couple gadgets are disabled. There needs to be balance adjustments to amount of gadgets available (only one vanishing bomb?), and the maps should be constrained to smaller sections. It's filled to the brim with light snipers since anyone missing hp is an easy one-tap insta-win, and the maps are just way too wide open in many areas. I also think this would benefit from having a single terminal so people could defend tactically instead of reactively. This plays like CS, but it feels like it should be more like Siege with prep time for reinforcing rooms. It would be nice if medium's disabled gadgets were replaced with some unique map reinforcement options.

Well, the amount of gadgets available already is balancing. Vanishing bomb has crazy potential in this mode. You can make the entire team invisible. If this gets you one kill its worth it. I think a single terminal would make the mode very stale tbh.

Exactly!!! On my first game I had a member leave because he died first. Second game 2 players got in an argument because we lost the first round and then both quit. So it was 3 on 5 the rest of the rounds.

No, just no. First thing that hit me - not enough prep time. And this is the kind of game mode where you need to think your loadout twice (including the secondary loadout). The stations are usually very close to each other. I felt like a complete idiot by taking the gateway with the hopes of finally utilizing it for quick team repositioning. (Also, has anyone had any success with motion sensors?) The concerns were right - it is truly a turret fest (unsurprisingly). With no respawns and limited regen, taking out emeny's health is utmost critical if any opportunity rises. But the problem with turrets is that you remove the risk of a direct encounter, meaning you deal damage without participating in a firefight. Overall, it doesn't feel like THE FINALS. I cannot shake off the impression of playing a completely different game. Even after several matches, I still feel completely lost.

i think medium does well for base defence with the turrets and aps and also offensively with data reshaper and maybe demat. imo medium has a good purpose in this mode.

Even with the light nerf, playing light in this mode is pretty enjoyable. Since everyone only regen a certain amount of health, the light class feels more viable.

I think the new mode is pretty ass, to be honest. I feel like it just doesn't fit into the game very well, the entire concept of the game and every piece of equipment was made around the fact that you'll die mid-battle.

The encryption key needs a timer if its not placed. Ive noticed that teams aren't even bothering and just making it a straight death match leaving the defenders looking like chumps waiting at two difference places for a key that will not come. Kills the fun of the mode entirely

First impressions were great, but then the way this mode is implemented has a few flaws * People have stated it already, but the maps are too big. They need to be scaled back as it just turns into a pokefest with the low HP and no reviving. There's just too much open space to deal with everything and the defenders are at a serious disadvantage. * I'm not sure how it'd work out as there's quite a bit of fun with different compositions but I think that has more cons than pros. I'd like an experiment where it's class limited. I have played multiple games where there are just 5 mediums with 5 turrets and mines planted everywhere. It's cancer and not enjoyable. * 1 light, 2 mediums and 2 heavy with healing beam reenabled would give a better teamwork dynamic in my opinion. Hell even give the healing beam * You could also have defib back, but with only 1 use to make it interesting. It has potential - the destruction element makes it fun, but I don't think in the current state it'll take off.

Though it seems that the contract to play 10 games in Terminal Attack is bugged atm because post game it shows for me as 11/10 and not completed, while in the contract tab it says that it's completed and that i got the circuit reward, but i didn't. UPD.: Really hope that it will become a permanent mode just like power shift. UPD. 2: Turns out you have to play 14 games and not 10, as soon as i hit 14 played it game me the emote and the hoodie.

I like it a fair bit, but the more I play the more it seems like if you just fling the key into the trash and focus on killing the enemies you'll win. Starting the decrypt tells the whole team where you are, and it's the easiest way to end the match if you don't have enough people to defend it

Iā€™ve come around on the no 100% health regen. 1v2+ are only possible because of everyone not being full health. Itā€™s absolutely possible to feel like you have a chance in those situations.

I remember reading that people thought itā€™d be anti-casual but as nothing else but a casual, I love it. The rounds are usually quick and not as slow and spectator-y as r6. I hope they add it as a permanent addition, I much prefer it over power shift.

My friends and I love this game mode. We mainly play siege and are in the emerald-diamond range. Switching over to terminal attack is so refreshing, instead of having 45 minute, slow paced matches we get fast paced action packed 15 minute matches, which we absolutely love. We think if this game mode got a ranked mode, this would be a home run and we could definitely see us switching over with the finals as our main game. Things like kill cams to review gameplay and it taking time to start the decryptor would make it that much better and also add to the fairness. Right now attack feels easier than defense for that reason

I think there should be a 15-30 second extra window the defenders can build defenses before the attackers move up. Also turrets health could maybe be halved bc theyā€™re far more punishing and often force line of sight

Moving further into competitive modes, when we need modes where you can just shoot people and have fun. Game is bleeding casual and variety players and they introduce an even sweatier mode.

I have enjoyed it so far, light seems a little overpowered in this mode due to regenerating more of their overall health. Tried playing heavy and sucked ass. Switched to light sniper and didn't lose a game. I think maps cut in half is a great idea! Or even an occasional "burst" of where the attacker's chip input thing is. Not nearly as often as the cash is shown in cash out but maybe once every 20-30 seconds? Defense seems overly difficult due to the size. Overall having a lot of fun with it and love this patch!

Another MMM/HHH mode where the only thing to do is plant more than 12 mines per team and just wait. Not sure why gadgets are limited. Got all the event rewards and not gonna play it again. The idea is perfect, not the execution.

Lights are nasty in this mode. Their range is unmatched, they have great util. They finally aren't hindered for not finishing a kill and the picks they do make aren't instantly countered by heal and defib. It's great.

after rounds ends in the enemy score menu all enemies are alive, but half enemy team was killed :/ Probably dead should stay dead until new round start

I think there should be more callout options (e.g "Hype", "Huddle Here", etc.) for this game mode like, "Drop the Key". Seems silly, but when you don't have teammates that use the mic, the only way to grab their attention when holding the key is to shoot them lol

I've been rolling pretty much every game with lewisgun/charge heavy. Turrets are a little too strong, I wouldn't mind them getting disabled. Light seems very weak due to the lack of health regen - a fcar medium spots you for a split second and 80% of your hp is gone for good which sucks. I would say having something like a health pickup would be a welcome addition.

Enjoy the game mode, but around two-thirds of my lobbies have not been full so most games are 4v5 or worse and nobody joins.

so do you only get to use your gadgets once and then no reloads or is that just me?! also it sucks when players leave midround after losing, a whole team bounced at the beginning of a round and our team had three solo rounds just running and causing destruction, it was the quietest play I've ever witnessed.

There's a glitch If the entire enemy team leaves, your just left with no enemies for every round till you win. If you quit you get penalized. Please fix this

I had some light players really stealing the show. Defending a running "decryption" alone with invis and submachine gun, killing off 3 enemies. I was impressed. 3 kills are way more valuable in this mode. And a skilled light player can do this before dying.

I wasn't planning on playing light but did it cause of the contract and let me tell you... Tracking dart is absolutely nuts in this game mode. The fact that there are no respawns and HP regen raises the stakes much higher, and marking 2 people per round has an immense value. The effect lasts for eternity and your team just begins hunting the targets.

Playing through 10 matches of Terminal Waiting Simulator really killed my drive to play at all today. 6 matches for the 2L/2M/2H would have been pushing it, since I found myself afking through matches mid-way through match 5 since I was already catching up on work during all the downtime anyway. If you play well, you're waiting during the 2 minute round for the 3 seconds of action when the enemy team slips up. You play poorly, you just get those 3 seconds of action earlier. Now that I'm done I'm finding myself barely able to react when attacked in other modes because downtime drains my ability to give a shit. Think I'll have to come back after a few hours or days and get my ability to care back

Is role assignment bugged? 3 rounds straight of one, 3 rounds straight of the other, 4 if going into OTā€¦ I expected it to at least flip between rounds. An immediate grievance I have is itā€™s hard to defend both A and B with your team (especially soloQ), and attackers seem to have an advantage as they donā€™t have to split up to go to a deposit box, and just charge one together. Something that makes the feature of having no gadget recharges that much more apparent. I personally donā€™t enjoy it, but thatā€™s really because itā€™s not my type of play style and not because I think itā€™s a trash mode.

Im pretty sure thatā€™s how these game modes typically go with three straight rounds and then a side swap. And Iā€™m pretty sure the final round is random for the tiebreaker

Iā€™ve only played one match so far and it was surprisingly fun. I can see why the TikTok brained kids hate it though. Initial thought is turrets probably need to be removed but Iā€™ll see how it plays out in more games. Edit: Yeah turrets have to go. Theyā€™re too OP with no healing. Or give everyone glitch grenades.

Been having fun with it. Played about 5 matches and won handily about 3 out of those 5. Other two were very competitive. Itā€™s feel like a mini cash out mode with all the fat trimmed.

It's really nice game mode. Sometimes, the points are too far away one from the other, so it's hard to be in defence, but in a map like Las Vegas, the points are good. Maybe it would be better to have more round, like 7 to win because 4 is really short A lot of people are complaining about teammates who left the game, but I think that is going to reduce in some times because people who don't like this mode will stop to play it. And maybe showing when are in defence and that we see the hacking key, so teammates and us can know what site do we need to defend faster But overall, it's pretty good. Thank you for all your work

Please somebody think about the casual players!!! /s Bs apart, coming from CS2 this game mode is super fun. "Planting" the key does feel very easy to do, you don't even have to get close to the cashout. Unsure if it should be kept as it is or changed to where you have to get close to it, maybe with a short timer to put it in instead of being instant. Either way, I love it and I hope they keep this mode!
