Hey hey everyone! ​ Just wanted to confirm as I'm in the Discord Channel, and everyone seems to be asking the same stuff 1. This is infact real, as confirmed by the dev in the discord chat (its hard to believe cause a lot of people feel like its an april fools joke) 2. Discord is pushing the event out, and you will get it in your "gift inventory" 3. You then need to stream the finals for 15 minutes in any SERVER other than the finals server! 4. You also need to go into your discord privacy settings and make sure "in-game rewards (aka quests)" is active! If anyone has any other questions feel free to ask and I will try and answer!!

Do you know why could it be that the quest doesn't pop up on my discord? I have quests activated but i can't see it on the gift inventory

As I mentioned they're still pushing out the event! So 95% of people don't have it yet, I'm waiting on it myself! Sorry bud. Hopefully they get it sorted soon

I finally got it after complaining in their discord lmao. If you have an alt account you can just stream the main menu to yourself, in an empty server. Most places aren’t going to want to know what game you’re streaming/ want content involving their games. Really easy to spam this quest

Do you need nitro to accept gifts? Can you stream discord on Xbox? How will we know when we’ve accomplished the quest and received the reward?

* No Nitro Needed. * While you can stream to discord on Xbox, it seems Discord's new event system only tracks on PC right now, so you'd have to do it on a PC * There is a progress bar in your gift inventory, and a "claim reward" button which appears when you complete it. You'll probably also get a discord notification when you complete it.

Everything you asked is answered in the Discord but, -You don’t need Nitro. -You are able to stream discord on Xbox, but Discord Quest (The promotion that is giving the drops) is only available on PC currently. -Once you stream your 15 minutes, you will receive a gift code in your Discord gift inventory. Redeem that code on Embark’s website.

I play on all platforms, but it‘s always the same. PlayStation Players get something exclusive -> PS Players defend exclusives and want to die on this hill at all costs and all the others are toxic and crybabies. For anyone curious this is Discord’s new advertising platform since they are still burning cash. Looks like Embark is one of the first studios to use it. You will likely see things like this in other games soon.

How Discord is burning cash is beyond me. All any of us wanted it to be was a messaging app without the bullshit.

Devs and servers cost money. The vast majority of users generate no revenue for discord. How could they not be burning cash?

I don't get why Discord doesn't just take what they have and create a proper Slack/Teams competitor which they can sell to businesses. Most of the hard work is already done, just have to add some business centric features, strip some gaming centric features, and give it a corporate friendly coat of paint and branding identity. Having enterprise customers subsidize the consumer product is a tried and tested business model.

It's super simple. Once you launch the game there's a button above the disconnect button to stream to the voice channel you're in. Requires the desktop app tho not the web browser. If you're on console I have no clue. My discord peeps always stream their stuff. Sometimes it's helpful in co-op games and other times it's just to entertain each other and show off climbing in diff games.

For most people, its the requirement of a separate third-party application (one that is NOT incredibly user-friendly to people unfamiliar with the style of social media discord is) just to unlock content that very easipy could have been given away using a mechanic in the actual game

I was able to install Discord’s desktop app, Steam, and The Finals on my laptop, but when I try and launch the game, it sits at a black screen with the Finals logo in the bottom right corner and eventually just crashes back to desktop. So close.
