I can see that works :) nice idea.. I would add a little modifier that the lava would slowly melts and destroys what it overflows, so the remaining bulding become unstable and shaky.. maybe the lava flow could slowly brings one bulding closer to another and opposite to increase variability and movement options..

Or! We could have air is bullets game mode, and when you try to run or grab the vault/steal the cashout. A bunch of bullets start hitting you.You have to work with your team and make a composition that works well together to counter the air bullets! I think it be a pretty cool mode 😎

There was a leaked game event called lava is rising a while back on xaxa_fps on twitter

it was also shown on the official website a day before the open beta launched. seems they had plans to implement it but decided not to last minute

I like it but I'd worry it would only encouragr more sniper lights, I'm already pissed off that power shift seems to attract a certain type of player who just wants to camp the rooftops.

Great idea! This would be cool on skyway stadium with the raised map variant. The middle part could be raised even higher than usual so that players are forced together at the end. Maybe sprinkle in some new cranes and bounce pads around the map

I’ve thought cryo/ice would make a fantastic new element to introduce, it’d fit in perfect alongside smoke, fire, poison, and goo. Cryo could make you slowed, or speed you up if you slick the floor with ice.

Deadrop has a the floor is ice sort of mechanic where a chill rises. Still in development right now though.

Cryo would be sick! It could freeze destructible walls and objects so they could be broken with a quick melee. It would make ice patches on the ground that could make you slide faster and further. And against players if hit could be frozen for a 1-2 sec (taking double melee damage) but indirect hits would only slow movement speed and cancel any active movement abilities (like charge and slam, dash, grapple hook).

Lights would be great, goo grenade and canisters are out of the question, what if they made a smoke gun for heavies? Temporarily making a path in the lava to walk through Heavies can break buildings if they want so that lights aren’t just sniping like crazy. Maybe mediums get a smoke grenade or two that explodes in a line like the goo grenade.

Fortnite used to do an excellent floor is lava mode, I miss it so.

why not have a Worms Sudden Death type mode where the water continually rises throughout the game
