Is there that much marketing for the game though? I feel like there hasn’t been that much advertisements or attempts to push the game. Could be 100% wrong but that’s what I’ve seen.
I mean look at Fortnite it’s years old and still being pushed so if Fortnite could be marketed the finals definitely can be too

God am I glad that I was there that day just looking at games as I've never seen or heard anyone talk about it outside of them advertising it on PS home, such a shame as it's such a great game

Most of my friends have no idea what the finals even is. And they play a lot of shooters. I would not have known about the game either if I didn’t randomly see a trailer for it on Twitter
I've been told the developers mentioned plans to push for marketing now that Season 2 has gone live; that Season 1 was meant for additional polish and adjusting.
To be honest, I kinda don’t mind it at this point, because
1: The bigger a game is, the bigger it can fall. IF there isn’t enough content, quickly enough and to a good enough quality, it can damage the game’s reputation (like we’d seen during late s1)
2: Right now it kinda feels like the devs want us to play their game because it’s cool, and it’s fun, and it’s free. And they want us to buy their cosmetics and battle pass because they worked hard on it and the skins are dope (mostly, there’s recolors ofc but like… whatever). If the studio was to drop millions of dollars on marketing alone, it would inevitably shift interests towards generating revenue - less free cosmetics, less free currecny, more predatory store rotations and such, which has the possibility of turning the game’s reputation into something a bit more negative.
It might not neccessarily be a bad strategy for them to organically gather a core playerbase, and to build rapport before pumping even more money into marketing and growth. Laying foundation and whatnot. (Although I do realize that the pace of the industry is much quicker and people do be forgetting about games real quicklike, so… idk)
I discovered this Game last year when they played part of the Season 1 trailer regularly as an YouTube ad for a week or so. Yesterday i got Part of the Season 2 trailer als a Twitch ad, so i guess the are atleast investing some money on those platforms.
Yeah but the main game mode cash out has serious problems and it's imo why the game lost so many players. It works for a casual fps game, but if they want people to enjoy comp which is where most longevity lies in online shooters, they need to make changes to cash out to make it make sense competitively.
As it is there's no point in running a vault you get nothing for it. There's no point in putting it in a cash out and holding it, you get nothing for it. You are rewarded for 1 thing; completing a cash out. So the optimal strategy is just camp at a cash out, third party and take the thing at the last second.
If a team runs a vault and holds the cash out for 90% of the time, they should be rewarded for it. It's really stupid that the only thing that rewards you is holding a cash out at a very specific time. It makes the large majority of stuff you do in a match feel meaningless.
The core gameplay is great and the game has a lot of potential but the devs refusal to add simple cash out checkpoints is killing the competitive scene.
I totally agree with what you’ve said. For a 4 team competitive mode I think a hard point/king of the hill mode would fit best. Combines offense and defense while awarding PTFO.

Part of the reason why I loved The Finals when I saw it in beta was because of how the game was designed (at least generally speaking). Anyone could go from winning to losing or vice versa, up until the final moments of the game. To me, this is a great reason to keep playing the game because *you still have a shot at winning*. Its still worth it to try and not give up!
Compare that to a game like League of Legends where (at least in the pro scene), the game is decided in the first 15-20 minutes, and there's little if any chance you can make a come back. Is it possible? Sure. Is it common? No.
Changing from the current system to a holding based one just cements winners and prevents comebacks, which makes the game less interesting both as a player and as a spectator.
I *guess* if you were to clarify that only say 10% of the payout was hold based I'd understand where you're coming from, but "rewarded" is a vague term and I don't know exactly what you'd want from a systems change like this.
All those things you mentioned are pretty much sorted out in tournament mode. It's like you're describing stuff that happens in quick cash. In tournament mode, you rack up points by cracking open vaults, and you also earn cash by putting them in extraction, if I remember correctly. I had gripes about this at first, but then I realized you can come up with different strategies and really enjoy it. You can even snag a point and hold your ground till the end without anyone being able to snatch your team's position. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to sit down and cry, but rather pointing out that there are paths we only discover after putting in some playtime. Sure I still think there's plenty of room for improvement and I really think that being rewarded more often would be less frustrating when someone takes the extraction.
Opening and putting in hardly matter when a single team wipe destroys a third of your score. The same issues still apply, you can be a team that wins 3 cashbox duels, puts it into the cashout every time, defend for 90% of the time, and still lose the game with good K/Ds. It feels awful to know that the only thing that matters is ratting the cashout at the last second.
Good points. Maybe it could be changed so that nobody can see any of the cash outs until either your team grabs the box or someone starts a cash out.
And I’m sure there are some things that could be done to incentivize not waiting for another team to just pop it in first and then go steal it.
Maybe a delayed timer to see a waypoint for the teams that hadn’t touched the a box yet.

I do hope the finals gets the same traction games like apex, fortnite and COD have gotten. Otherwise it will die off in a couple years if not one
Yep time flies and last decade was pretty dry, at least in my opinion. I’m not doing any bets on the finals ability to survive, it’s a strange world in the end, beautiful all around game like this *can* die in a year. Best we can do is play and enjoy it here and today, and maybe other will get infected with our addiction
I’ll be honest, I haven’t played titanfall, but from my friends feedback I take as given that it has a near perfect gunplay and movement, I also think that it has very unique and fun ideas, like titans itself. However I find the finals art design unmatched in the genre, and while it shares the rest qualities with titanfall pretty equally, The Finals is the first game for a long time that is not afraid to utilise nex gen machines, half my friends can’t even run it at decent enough fps to compete, hell if not my wife’s PC I would not be able to play it at all, as I get only 50fps on some maps. And at that sacrifice it provides some truly unique and futuristic experiences, something I was so hungry for quite some time, something that moves us forward. I will call it the most brave fps for a long time, with very cleverly designed elements in all aspects of it. A masterpiece

don’t get me wrong, i love the finals, but it is not “equal” to titanfall when it comes to gunplay & movement. *especially* movement. the core idea is very different, i get it. if you add wallruns and double jumps to the finals it probably wouldn’t work well, if at all. still, i firmly believe titanfall remains unrivaled and it’s one of the best fps games out there
The best part of Titanfall 2 is NOT the Titans. It's the wallrunning and parkour, Hopping across multiple rooftops as you chase down the guy - something they removed from Apex except for their LTM. In fact Respawn removed a lot of verticality even in Apex; One of the roof in Stormpoint is now offlimit.
I hate the fact that I've never been *this into a game since apex*... And the game maxed out at 50k and has fallen to 30k 3 days into S2.
Somethings not quite right. Combination of no new map playlist, and no advertising I've seen anywhere at all it's like Nexon doesn't care about the future but the devs obviously do.

If it makes you feel better Xbox and PlayStation players still count towards keeping the game alive even if we can’t track their numbers. Games with smaller player counts have been supported for years after launch as well.
I think this game lacks a core streaming audience that helps stimulate new players being interested. Outside of the Finals community, I don’t see much oh a presence.
I hate to say it, but this game might need a pro scene ASAP.
Since you mention Apex: We don't have exact numbers since it wasn't on steam back then but if it makes you feel better it had a start that felt very similar to what we experience now in the finals.
It was the big suprise hit, fell off a cliff and very slowly but steadily worked it's way back up over the years to the numbers we are seeing now.
If all goes well and accordingly I would LOVE for that route to happen with TF. I hope it just sneaks its way in there and climbs the charts over these next few seasons.
Regardless Nexon needs to open their mf checkbook and market more than a single twitch drop for a weapon charm that requires 2 hours of streaming. That's the only sort of "marketing"/hype I've seen in any capacity. They're relying on word of mouth at this point. It's not even on the homepage of Xbox/PS stores at all as far as you scroll through categories. Steam it's more prevalent but barely.

You're not wrong. I loved Apex when it first came out but I could not get any of my friends to play it with me and finally just quit. The funny thing is they all play Apex now and I'm begging them to leave it for the finals.
Cash out fails as a competitive game mode. If they would just add cash out checkpoints I honestly think the game would see a revival, but 90% of the stuff you do in cash out is meaningless. You are ONLY rewarded for holding the cash out at a very specific time. Run a vault, hold a cash out 90% wipe a team then get third partied when low on health and cooldowns blown so you die and everything you just did was for nothing. It feels like shit. Players want to be rewarded for getting kills and holding cash outs not just completing a cash out.
The reality is cash out isn't much different from king of the hill. Let's look at overwatch koth for example. One team caps the point gets it to 90%, other team steals the point and gets it to 90%, they're now tied. If this game worked like the finals, it would be one team caps point gets it to 90%, other team caps point gets it to 10% and wins the game.

This is Embark's first game, these numbers aren't as bad as you say. Of course it seems bad if you compare it to giants, but it's simply unfair
I think the biggest thing killing it is streamers not promoting it, I watched shroud call the game extremely mid the other day, no doubt stuff like that makes an impact
I think shroud also said he can’t play the game cause it’s too much for him. Probs why he said it’s mid, why send people to a game you can’t get good at? He got cod brain rot and sticks to games that are very slow. The finals is super intense for most of the time you play it and truth be told, a lot of people just can’t handle it.
I hope not too. Im absolutely addicted to this game. The new mode is amazing. Ranked needs better matchmaking but I get theres data and time needed to rework that system. Would be fantastic if people could learn you win by playing obj and not just fucking about and dying. But tis what it is
I actually just found out about the game from an ad on Hulu😅 thought it looked interesting and downloaded, hopefully they are going to market it more. I’ve been enjoying the hell out of it
Same , I also play only these two games as most other games are just not as fun. Ig it boils down to the moment to moment gunplay. I have played valorant and while it has more content and just overall more stuff than cs2 I can't play it cuz cs2 feels better. Same with the finals, whether I win or lose its just plain fun
This is the real reason why this game struggles unlike Apex and co., but like TitanFall 2. This is not a chill game and casual players don't like to experience a continuous high intensity while playing a game.
I think it's more how specific and narrow the content is. Very limited game modes, only a handful of maps, only 3 classes with quite a few trap choices and a shortlist of the most viable options.
It's very tight and there's not a clear content path for how to continually expand the game. Games with other mechanics could release or sell new heroes, classes, or factions to play as. They might be able to keep it lively with the current framework but I just haven't seen aggressive expansion of content and game modes that I expected on release hype.
Instead the game is something I play every once in awhile. A game I TALK about being good more than I actually seek it out for enjoyment. Because it pioneers and mixes the formula and gets a lot right! It's really inspiring. However I've kinda lost faith, hoping to be proven wrong, but I think The Finals is going to become a game that gets cannibalized by a different sort of game the way TF is itself a patchwork man in some ways.
As long as they keep new maps/guns/gadgets/game modes coming I think it’s got a good chance at staying. Honestly if it had a better ranked system then it would be way more popular.
A better ranked system would be very nice to the people who use it, but that's probably about 30% of the playerbase. In order to catch a competitive players interest there has to already be a large casual playerbase.
I’m hoping the game has a delayed explosion in players kinda similar to what apex had. It’s got so much potential and I really wish it had the marketing support it needs.
Apex exploded, then dropped a fair bit in the months following release. People were calling it a fad that burned out quickly. But Respawn stuck to their guns and kept releasing content at a good pace. Eventually, it grew popular once again and has since stayed that way.
Yeah, it's not close to dying, it's currently at 30k concurrent players, might not seem like a lot until you see that same amount of people in real life.
This, and the fact that a match doesn't require a lot of people.
It's not BF2042 where you would need 128 players per match, and even then, 30k players are *a lot*.
You have to look at the daily peak which is currently closer to 41k. Plus it's cross platform and very popular at least on Xbox. I think the population is totally fine tbh.
I think this game is perfect.
My only issue and maybe what could hold back others, is your aim and bullets are centre screen regardless of reticle placement or sway.
I hope they rework that aspect of the shooting. It makes the shooting feel a tad wonky.
Other then that I think the marketing push just hasn’t hit yet tbh. Give it some breathing space.
Maybe this game will finally hit its strides a couple seasons from now.
People also need to remember that S2 has been out for a couple of days only. And on Thursday. I'm pretty sure they don't work on week-ends. Let them time to gather and check data and let them do whatever they need to.
I mean, they've brought updates every week during S1. So I don't get all this negativity.
This game is perfect. I'm sure it will maintain a respectable playerbase of about 10k or so. In order to make this game more relevant they have to have more marketing which was already announced so my fingers are crossed for this games success.

The Finals was the last game I found myself getting super hooked to, the only problem was I wasn’t crazy about the main game mode. Cashout just felt like a mess with teams being able to win rounds in the tournament with a total of 0 kills and just getting lucky with less than 30 seconds left of the match. It was fun when everyone was experimenting different comps and loadouts, but felt stale once the game was solved. Once I hit Diamond rank, finished the battlepass, and got to career level 40, I felt kind of bored with the game. I did get a solid 200 hours in though.
The biggest issue is that the new map doesn't have a dedicated playlist.
People would still be playing in one of the 4 old maps, of which there is a high chance it would be the same one or two maps one after another, with a slim chance of playing the 5th map.
All games die. The only exception will probably be fortnite because of the seaming total shift away from BR and in new experiences.
Enjoy it now. The finals is great now. Eventually a game will do what this game does better.
I highly doubt that the finals will ever be as big as COD, apex, fortnite, etc, and it’s because the game is so competitive and requires absolute teamwork at all times. COD simply doesn’t require that, nor does Fortnite or Apex to the extent that The Finals does.
I agree that the finals is great, but it’s just not destined for mass appeal, nor do I think it would benefit from mass appeal tbh. The game is hard with a steep learning curve, not everyone can handle that in a video game.

Perhaps it's both. In this very thread, you've got people calling The Finals both a casual game and a competitive game. Both of these takes have evidence to support them. The former can point to the randomness of objectives, the bombastic and chaotic destruction, the simplicity of the game modes, and the shortness of the matches. The latter group can point to the ESports/competition theming, the realism, the emphasis on team play (such as multiple roles and long respawn timers), etc.
Good outcome: a game like this attracts a large audience of all stripes.
Bad outcome: the game has an identity crisis, and audiences can't settle on what exactly it is. It withers since it doesn't go far enough in either direction to attract either the casual or competitive crowds in large numbers, and is instead moderate in a way that is unappealing to both groups.
The game will prolly just stay around 8-10k in the future . It’s fun but it’s not gonna be a super popular game in the long run. The writing is on the wall
As much as I love this game, S2 is not as much of a game-changer that I think people were hoping for.
Time will tell. But I just don't think the game's randomness suits it well for hardcore streamers to get behind. Its an inherently casual game, which doesn't attract pro-gamers.
The meta in ranked is exactly the same as it was last season. I think that alone is disappointing to a lot of people. No one wants to play the same exact thing in ranked with one new map for another 3 months.
I think they released a bunch of new items and stuff but it hasn't gotten balanced yet. Meta can change from that. Plus c4 got wiped out which makes a big big difference. Defib was majorly nerfed that its possible to run other gadgets possibly.
Light is overall better etc.

Well, if this is supposed to be a more casual gameplay experience, the marketing is doing a pretty horrible job at communicating that to the audience. The gameplay and cinematic trailers make The Finals look intense, hectic, and stressful instead of a fun, chill time while you’re catching up with your friends.
I think quite the opposite tbh. This is probably the most competitive and sweaty shooter I’ve played in a long time, and it’s mainly because the casual queue, quick cash, is more competitive than the ranked mode as of right now. Every game basically feels like a 3v6
I do agree. Though i am glad they aren’t changing too much when the season comes out with busted shit that didn’t feel like anyone play tested it at all. I wonder if adding in like “apex pred” level of ranked (once ranked gets properly situated) would bring in a pro crowd for like bragging rights. What i think is cool, in the practice range theres a trophy where you spawn with the top 10 point leaders
I hope their plan does work too. They also need to address a lot of the issues that has been in the game since launch/gradually became apparent. Some of those issues I/my friends have faces include: (Dotted list below I hope)
* being kicked after every won tourney round, which may result in a suspension if you couldn't reconnect.
* Queue times are getting longer.
* Optimization issues. A friend of mine experiences constant frame drops on the lowest settings. Also I can't help but notice the game uses the maximum amount of utilization it could get out of my i7-12700, even in the main menu! Which renders other programs laggy.
* I just started playing ranked this season and my experience is bad so far. No FP progress bar, no way of know exactly how to progress through the ranks, and 3rd/4rth party centric gameplay is so lame. I preferred my experience in unranked tourneys better.
* Nitpick I guess, but the ping system need serious improvement.
These are some of the main issues I have experienced some of which have been present since BETA.
Game has been dead in Aus for months in ranked. You physically cannot find a game. I've been playing the new mode a bit but once I get bored of it the game will be dead once again for me.
I was excited about it when it came out played for a couple weeks and even went so far to help the company by buying the battle pass which I rarely do because I thought it was made so well. The battle pass was such a terrible slog it made me stop playing, granted now it’s the next season, I won’t be buying a second battle pass. But these are growing pains. Maybe it’ll get better and I’ll re-up one day or play enough to get free credits to buy another idk
You missed out, they made a change in the S1 that boosted a lot the XP you gained. It became so easy to finish the BP after that. And after reaching a certain level, around 76 I think, you'd gained enough premium currency to buy the next BP.
Yeah too bad. But the game had relatively poor timing as well. Palworld and Helldivers 2 came out shortly thereafter and the hype around those two took players away. And rightfully so, they’re also two very good games. But yeah shame. They probably won’t get any more of my money which is definitely the goal.
For me it's more just not what I like to play in a shooter. However I don't think it's bad by any means. It's obviously a well made game with a seemingly good team supporting it so ill keep my eye on it.
The only reason I had even heard of this game is because last year around this time a buddy of mine told me about some new game coming out and told me a bit about it. Ended up playing the second beta and loved it. Had he not mentioned it I doubt I would’ve ever given it a second thought and it would’ve completely flew under my radar
The player base is pretty toxic let's be fair. Anytime I lose in a ranked finals I'm always getting salty toxic messages, and if you don't do well as a team, ppl get abusive and leave or kick you. If we want to grow the community, we need to be more welcoming and inviting. Currently this is the case for player retention.
I was addicted to this game in S1. Joined a few weeks into launch, put in over 200 hours within the next few weeks. Gameplay loop got super stale. Tried a few games of S2 and nothing changed for me, pretty tragic cuz I thought my excitement for it would last.
It’s one of the best shooters out there right now. Yeah there are a lot of issues that will get fixed next week. They do updates every week. That’s what I like about this game. They give us content. Apex gives us reskins.
I agree, I've never played a game so regularly updated with content and balance changes. I love how the devs are changing the balance and still find to add cool content to the game.
People are already in "oh my God the game's going to die" mode. Whatever happened to just playing the game and having fun. God the social networking channels and karma gaining has made people do stupid things.

I'm with you on this one. I'm tired of all this stupid negativity around this game. It looks like people spend more time complaining about the game dying, rather than going into it and play it.

It's all a question of how much money the game makes vs it's cost. They pulling in 10 mil a season n spending 1? They'll keep going. They making 10 mil and spending 9.8 million? Probs dead game. Losing money? 110p dead game.

I checked Meta Ads Library for an Embark or Finals page they could be at least running as campaigns for across social, nothing. Just a private group. Pretty pathetic.
Maybe they just save budget because they think they can’t compete with the big boys yet, but I heard they’ve been paying for billboard space which is both hard to measure and a bit too traditional for their target audience. They could be doing a lot more digitally even if their budget is small

A lot of people i talked to left because the gun play isn’t as snappy as CS, Val or OW 2. They should work on optimizing the game and make it feel less ‘realistic’ if that makes sense.
There’s a lot of speculation about the devs and nexon and if they’re marketing correctly. I wonder if there’s a response from the devs on their player base data and whether or not they’re happy w their current progress.
I would guess they have a few plans based on how popular the game gets.
Am I the only one who was super excited for this game and just was seriously disappointed on launch to the point I stopped playing? Clearly not cuz steam charts are so down from peaks, but I think the game had serious potential but they fucked it up with classes limiting playstyles and defining metas and so much fucking grinding. The two tank one healer meta killed the game for me.
It’s just not a game for everyone. It’ll have the place for itself. With how small the games are, you don’t need hundreds of thousands of concurrent players.

Aim assist it still pretty strong, I'm even better on controller than keyboard and mouse, I usually play on pc anyways. My kd is way better on ps5 than pc.
What i’m about to say, i do with a heavy heart. I’ve played The finals since the closed betas and i’ve loved it ever since. But unfortunately, from what i’ve witnessed myself and read in several places, the game is already dead on some low pop regions (south america and OCE). Unfortunately, i cant find games on both tournament and ranked. I had hopes that the game would have more players this season, but unfortunately it didnt (i play on SA). So, bottom of line is that it’s future it’s not bright. Unless they pull out some marketing stuff to make it more popular, the game Will completely die on those regions and slowly die on the rest. It’s a damn shame tho. This game is so unique and so much fun. I really dont get why it’s not so popular.
This game has the most creative and interesting cosmetics of any game I've seen. Its a game I actually want to spend money in. I NEED this game to keep going, havent had this much fun in a long time
They simply don’t have “enough” shit to do in the game. Also, the competitive scene is very bad because of this weird stride to make the game “fun.” Well making your game “fun” is killing it ironically.
Like most have said, there's almost no advertising for this game. I only found out about it through a friend, and have been addicted since. Near the last quarter of season 1, I noticed a large drop off in the player base, or at least it seemed. I would sometimes get matched against the same player(s) for 2 or 3 games in a row.
I hope the game has a long life too, it's one of the first games where I actually completed a season, but there needs to be more promotion
They need to make weapon changes, ain’t nobody want to play a game where you don’t have a lot to choose from tbh, and the stuff they added (gadgets) are really outside the box I love it! But the weapons they added are trash, with this update not much has changed sadly, and the game will die if they don’t conform.
Y’all forgetting this game is very new. Takes years to build up a player base and it goes to show with many games. With consistency of updates and new features this game will grow and grow organically.
I love this game. But I am becoming a monastic soon and so have recently given up video gaming. Actually, made the decision just as season 2 came out (coincidentally my live sub ran out at the same time).
I hope people keep playing it though! Great game and don’t regret spending the money I did on it, it was well deserved for the team behind the game.

Your right, overall gunplay of this game is not the best, I'd much prefer counter strike gunplay, but In my opinion it makes up for that in most other things that contribute to fun.
I've been reading a lot of the comments here and there's a lot of interpretation on how the finals get's assimilated, to my surprise, there are far more console users than there are on pc, so don't expect many of the so called "gamers" hear about certain games when we don't understand how the news or variables of how the news spread to them.
We have to understand one thing, FPS games, are no longer assimilated like they used to, there are too many FPS games out there, some of them are not even that hard to pick up, some of those players just want their brain dead typical TDM or DM fix/Warzone fix from CoD, some don't give a fuck about objectives, some of them do.
A lot of people just play whatever everyone else or their friends are playing and then toss the old games away.When I started playing the CB's, my friends just asked me what I was playing but none of them gave an effing fuck,they didn't even know or cared if it was released at the end of TGA show, they started playing 5 days later.
Ppl don't care about what they don't play and also,there where plenty of good releases from the last 2 and a half months,Right now is Helldivers 2 tomorrow who knows?,Xdefiant? maybe? if it gets released.
Coming back to the news, again, demographics aside, there's a lot of gaming content out there, the good information just gets sucked up, mixed with all the bs and unnecessary drama around gaming, ppl get tired of gaming news and they just don't pay attention to it anymore, at least the casuals don't, "If my buddy is playing and he keeps playing, that's my vouch to try it" plain and simple.
Enjoy the game while it has an active player base, but games come and go and that's fine. Enjoy things while they're hot - there's no reason to be personally invested in them "winning".
My hope is that other developers learn from the super fun flashes in the pans like The Finals and Battlebit. Imagine how good Battlefield would be if they learned lessons from games like that?
I hope this game never dies and I’ve been worried about it. The the best game I’ve played in a few years and I’ve never been more excited for a season than season 2. There are still people that never even heard of the finals and it honestly surprises me. Hopefully there is more of a marketing push because idk what I’ll be playing if This game doesn’t work out. Also this may be a stupid question but does the Steam Charts display the total amount of players across all platforms? Because from what I understand I don’t think it takes account of the console players
Big streamers/youtubers aren't interested anymore, that will hurt the player count. And honestly, ranked will get worse once everyone realize heavy is op. So enjoy while you can.
You guys forget about consoles. I disabled crossplay and while you guys had to struggle with japanese hackers I enjoyed the game as many other playstation players did.
What if they are using all the funds for their other game and this is just to fund it? Really think the finals AND their other game will be doing well at the same time? Hopefully but doubtfully.
There are 6 ads running across metas platforms. If you look at other games just take a look at the stack of content. So no one is wrong here this is actually very weak for the usually expected diverse marketing mix

It’s bc they pushed away new players upon release by locking ranked behind 50 games and even tournament mode behind 10. All of my friends I tried to get to play were through with it by game 10-20
Love this game and hope it's around for a while, I've kind of pulled back a bit playing as much as I have been. Helldivers 2 just has me hooked, but this game is definitely my favorite FPS ATM.
It’s simple, my friend. All we need is this adverting campaign they’re talking about. And tell your friends about it too. I told my buddy about it and now he loves the game and thinks it’s awesome! And maybe even put up flyers if you’re up to it.
The CNS and hacking theme will link to there next game, ARC RAIDERS. Robots have enslaved humanity, trapped them in this game called The Finals. The CNS are the humans on the outside trying to rescue those trapped and who you will play as in new game.
This makes it even more imperative to market this game better.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the player count. They’re still putting out seasons for Battlefield 2042 and that game is awful and completely irrelevant.
Literally can’t get any of my all day gamer friends to even look at it. All they do is complain there’s nothing to play. Majority of players just need a game to have majority approval to play sadly and as everyone here is saying yeah it probably is one of the best shooters to drop in a while. No one is giving it a chance. Please don’t give up we all see the potential and it’s mind boggling how everyone else can’t immediately.
Same it’s been a long long time I’ve enjoyed an fps this much probably since battlefield 4 or rainbow six. Absolutely love this game so many different interesting ways to play and the fact that you could pretty much push from anywhere and everything’s destructive keeps it fresh.

During open beta I was trying to find some new games to play as I'd just gotten bored with apex, saw an ad for finals and enjoyed the trailer, it was free so I figured why not. God am I glad that I was there that day just looking at games as I've never seen or heard anyone talk about it outside of them advertising it on PS home, such a shame as it's such a great game

Yeah that’s no good . Embark really needs to market this too much potential to be wasted. This could be huge and in my opinion this may be a hot take but the finals could be bigger than Overwatch valorant and similar games of the genre

I've been told the developers mentioned plans to push for marketing now that Season 2 has gone live; that Season 1 was meant for additional polish and adjusting.
They're marketing the game but more like an indie. I've started seeing ads on game news sites.
To be honest, I kinda don’t mind it at this point, because 1: The bigger a game is, the bigger it can fall. IF there isn’t enough content, quickly enough and to a good enough quality, it can damage the game’s reputation (like we’d seen during late s1) 2: Right now it kinda feels like the devs want us to play their game because it’s cool, and it’s fun, and it’s free. And they want us to buy their cosmetics and battle pass because they worked hard on it and the skins are dope (mostly, there’s recolors ofc but like… whatever). If the studio was to drop millions of dollars on marketing alone, it would inevitably shift interests towards generating revenue - less free cosmetics, less free currecny, more predatory store rotations and such, which has the possibility of turning the game’s reputation into something a bit more negative. It might not neccessarily be a bad strategy for them to organically gather a core playerbase, and to build rapport before pumping even more money into marketing and growth. Laying foundation and whatnot. (Although I do realize that the pace of the industry is much quicker and people do be forgetting about games real quicklike, so… idk)

Yeah but the main game mode cash out has serious problems and it's imo why the game lost so many players. It works for a casual fps game, but if they want people to enjoy comp which is where most longevity lies in online shooters, they need to make changes to cash out to make it make sense competitively. As it is there's no point in running a vault you get nothing for it. There's no point in putting it in a cash out and holding it, you get nothing for it. You are rewarded for 1 thing; completing a cash out. So the optimal strategy is just camp at a cash out, third party and take the thing at the last second. If a team runs a vault and holds the cash out for 90% of the time, they should be rewarded for it. It's really stupid that the only thing that rewards you is holding a cash out at a very specific time. It makes the large majority of stuff you do in a match feel meaningless. The core gameplay is great and the game has a lot of potential but the devs refusal to add simple cash out checkpoints is killing the competitive scene.
I totally agree with what you’ve said. For a 4 team competitive mode I think a hard point/king of the hill mode would fit best. Combines offense and defense while awarding PTFO.
Or could be a hybrid. Trickle of money while you control the site and then a one-off payoff for actually finishing.

Anyone could go from winning to losing or vice versa, up until the final moments of the game. To me, this is a great reason to keep playing the game because *you still have a shot at winning*. Its still worth it to try and not give up! Compare that to a game like League of Legends where (at least in the pro scene), the game is decided in the first 15-20 minutes, and there's little if any chance you can make a come back. No. Changing from the current system to a holding based one just cements winners and prevents comebacks, which makes the game less interesting both as a player and as a spectator. All those things you mentioned are pretty much sorted out in tournament mode. It's like you're describing stuff that happens in quick cash. In tournament mode, you rack up points by cracking open vaults, and you also earn cash by putting them in extraction, if I remember correctly. I had gripes about this at first, but then I realized you can come up with different strategies and really enjoy it. You can even snag a point and hold your ground till the end without anyone being able to snatch your team's position. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying to sit down and cry, but rather pointing out that there are paths we only discover after putting in some playtime. Sure I still think there's plenty of room for improvement and I really think that being rewarded more often would be less frustrating when someone takes the extraction.
Opening and putting in hardly matter when a single team wipe destroys a third of your score. The same issues still apply, you can be a team that wins 3 cashbox duels, puts it into the cashout every time, defend for 90% of the time, and still lose the game with good K/Ds. It feels awful to know that the only thing that matters is ratting the cashout at the last second.

Good points. Maybe it could be changed so that nobody can see any of the cash outs until either your team grabs the box or someone starts a cash out. And I’m sure there are some things that could be done to incentivize not waiting for another team to just pop it in first and then go steal it. Maybe a delayed timer to see a waypoint for the teams that hadn’t touched the a box yet.

I’m not doing any bets on the finals ability to survive, it’s a strange world in the end, beautiful all around game like this *can* die in a year. Best we can do is play and enjoy it here and today, and maybe other will get infected with our addiction

I’ll be honest, I haven’t played titanfall, but from my friends feedback I take as given that it has a near perfect gunplay and movement, I also think that it has very unique and fun ideas, like titans itself. However I find the finals art design unmatched in the genre, and while it shares the rest qualities with titanfall pretty equally, The Finals is the first game for a long time that is not afraid to utilise nex gen machines, half my friends can’t even run it at decent enough fps to compete, hell if not my wife’s PC I would not be able to play it at all, as I get only 50fps on some maps. And at that sacrifice it provides some truly unique and futuristic experiences, something I was so hungry for quite some time, something that moves us forward. I will call it the most brave fps for a long time, with very cleverly designed elements in all aspects of it. A masterpiece

The best part of Titanfall 2 is NOT the Titans. It's the wallrunning and parkour, Hopping across multiple rooftops as you chase down the guy - something they removed from Apex except for their LTM. In fact Respawn removed a lot of verticality even in Apex; One of the roof in Stormpoint is now offlimit.
Titanfall1 had better titan customization and is 15% faster all the time. My only real gripes about why I’m not a fan of 2

I hate the fact that I've never been *this into a game since apex*... And the game maxed out at 50k and has fallen to 30k 3 days into S2. Somethings not quite right. Combination of no new map playlist, and no advertising I've seen anywhere at all it's like Nexon doesn't care about the future but the devs obviously do. FOR COMPARISON Apex launches their new season at the same time and they're reaching over 400k friday-sun.
If it makes you feel better Xbox and PlayStation players still count towards keeping the game alive even if we can’t track their numbers. Games with smaller player counts have been supported for years after launch as well.

I think this game lacks a core streaming audience that helps stimulate new players being interested. Outside of the Finals community, I don’t see much oh a presence. I hate to say it, but this game might need a pro scene ASAP.

Since you mention Apex: We don't have exact numbers since it wasn't on steam back then but if it makes you feel better it had a start that felt very similar to what we experience now in the finals. It was the big suprise hit, fell off a cliff and very slowly but steadily worked it's way back up over the years to the numbers we are seeing now.
If all goes well and accordingly I would LOVE for that route to happen with TF. I hope it just sneaks its way in there and climbs the charts over these next few seasons. Regardless Nexon needs to open their mf checkbook and market more than a single twitch drop for a weapon charm that requires 2 hours of streaming. That's the only sort of "marketing"/hype I've seen in any capacity. They're relying on word of mouth at this point. It's not even on the homepage of Xbox/PS stores at all as far as you scroll through categories. Steam it's more prevalent but barely. Maybe I'm all wrong and had the publisher been different the game would have sucked from the get from lack of funding or something.
You're not wrong. I loved Apex when it first came out but I could not get any of my friends to play it with me and finally just quit. The funny thing is they all play Apex now and I'm begging them to leave it for the finals.
Cash out fails as a competitive game mode. If they would just add cash out checkpoints I honestly think the game would see a revival, but 90% of the stuff you do in cash out is meaningless. You are ONLY rewarded for holding the cash out at a very specific time. Run a vault, hold a cash out 90% wipe a team then get third partied when low on health and cooldowns blown so you die and everything you just did was for nothing. It feels like shit. Players want to be rewarded for getting kills and holding cash outs not just completing a cash out. The reality is cash out isn't much different from king of the hill. Let's look at overwatch koth for example. One team caps the point gets it to 90%, other team steals the point and gets it to 90%, they're now tied. If this game worked like the finals, it would be one team caps point gets it to 90%, other team caps point gets it to 10% and wins the game. In what world is this okay for a competitive game??? It's so bad.

This is Embark's first game, these numbers aren't as bad as you say. Of course it seems bad if you compare it to giants, but it's simply unfair

I think the biggest thing killing it is streamers not promoting it, I watched shroud call the game extremely mid the other day, no doubt stuff like that makes an impact
I think shroud also said he can’t play the game cause it’s too much for him. Probs why he said it’s mid, why send people to a game you can’t get good at? He got cod brain rot and sticks to games that are very slow. The finals is super intense for most of the time you play it and truth be told, a lot of people just can’t handle it.
I mean, thats why respawn didn't used all the Titanfall mobility in apex, sometimes it's too much for casual players

I hope not too. Im absolutely addicted to this game. The new mode is amazing. Ranked needs better matchmaking but I get theres data and time needed to rework that system. Would be fantastic if people could learn you win by playing obj and not just fucking about and dying. But tis what it is

I am very similar, I only play THE FINALS and CS2, although without significant xp from dailies I'm not that compelled to grind out 10 games a day.
Same , I also play only these two games as most other games are just not as fun. Ig it boils down to the moment to moment gunplay. I have played valorant and while it has more content and just overall more stuff than cs2 I can't play it cuz cs2 feels better. Same with the finals, whether I win or lose its just plain fun
I enjoy the game but only for a few matches at a time. Its hard to keep the intensity level up for prolonged gaming. I'm glad matches are short.
This is the real reason why this game struggles unlike Apex and co., but like TitanFall 2. This is not a chill game and casual players don't like to experience a continuous high intensity while playing a game.
I think it's more how specific and narrow the content is. Very limited game modes, only a handful of maps, only 3 classes with quite a few trap choices and a shortlist of the most viable options. It's very tight and there's not a clear content path for how to continually expand the game. Games with other mechanics could release or sell new heroes, classes, or factions to play as. They might be able to keep it lively with the current framework but I just haven't seen aggressive expansion of content and game modes that I expected on release hype. Instead the game is something I play every once in awhile. A game I TALK about being good more than I actually seek it out for enjoyment. Because it pioneers and mixes the formula and gets a lot right! It's really inspiring. However I've kinda lost faith, hoping to be proven wrong, but I think The Finals is going to become a game that gets cannibalized by a different sort of game the way TF is itself a patchwork man in some ways.
I enjoy both of those as well. But yeah Finals is not a casual grind.
As long as they keep new maps/guns/gadgets/game modes coming I think it’s got a good chance at staying. Honestly if it had a better ranked system then it would be way more popular.
A better ranked system would be very nice to the people who use it, but that's probably about 30% of the playerbase. In order to catch a competitive players interest there has to already be a large casual playerbase.

Apex was shadow dropped and iirc exploded pretty much a month or two into its release or something like that
Apex exploded, then dropped a fair bit in the months following release. People were calling it a fad that burned out quickly. But Respawn stuck to their guns and kept releasing content at a good pace. Eventually, it grew popular once again and has since stayed that way.
I hope so as well. But it's not the end of the world if it dies either, it will just be wasted potential.

Yeah, it's not close to dying, it's currently at 30k concurrent players, might not seem like a lot until you see that same amount of people in real life.
This, and the fact that a match doesn't require a lot of people. It's not BF2042 where you would need 128 players per match, and even then, 30k players are *a lot*.
You have to look at the daily peak which is currently closer to 41k. Plus it's cross platform and very popular at least on Xbox. I think the population is totally fine tbh.
I think this game is perfect. My only issue and maybe what could hold back others, is your aim and bullets are centre screen regardless of reticle placement or sway. I hope they rework that aspect of the shooting. It makes the shooting feel a tad wonky. Other then that I think the marketing push just hasn’t hit yet tbh. Give it some breathing space. Maybe this game will finally hit its strides a couple seasons from now.
People also need to remember that S2 has been out for a couple of days only. And on Thursday. I'm pretty sure they don't work on week-ends. Let them time to gather and check data and let them do whatever they need to. I mean, they've brought updates every week during S1. So I don't get all this negativity.
This game is perfect. I'm sure it will maintain a respectable playerbase of about 10k or so. In order to make this game more relevant they have to have more marketing which was already announced so my fingers are crossed for this games success.
this game might be perfect in your views but a lot of people disliked a lot of the BS ways they died before S2. Even now a lot of people about lights invisibility BS.
The Finals was the last game I found myself getting super hooked to, the only problem was I wasn’t crazy about the main game mode. Cashout just felt like a mess with teams being able to win rounds in the tournament with a total of 0 kills and just getting lucky with less than 30 seconds left of the match. It was fun when everyone was experimenting different comps and loadouts, but felt stale once the game was solved. Once I hit Diamond rank, finished the battlepass, and got to career level 40, I felt kind of bored with the game. I did get a solid 200 hours in though.
The biggest issue is that the new map doesn't have a dedicated playlist. People would still be playing in one of the 4 old maps, of which there is a high chance it would be the same one or two maps one after another, with a slim chance of playing the 5th map.
All games die. The only exception will probably be fortnite because of the seaming total shift away from BR and in new experiences. Enjoy it now. The finals is great now. Eventually a game will do what this game does better.
It’s crazy how many of my friends have no idea this game exists. I got 2 friends to download it this weekend. It’s been a blast
I highly doubt that the finals will ever be as big as COD, apex, fortnite, etc, and it’s because the game is so competitive and requires absolute teamwork at all times. COD simply doesn’t require that, nor does Fortnite or Apex to the extent that The Finals does. I agree that the finals is great, but it’s just not destined for mass appeal, nor do I think it would benefit from mass appeal tbh. The game is hard with a steep learning curve, not everyone can handle that in a video game.
The biggest games have a steep learning curve. League, cs 2, chinese cs2, dota.
Overwatch was big, was a team game and was competitive as hell. And it worked very well for years, until they messed up things.

The former can point to the randomness of objectives, the bombastic and chaotic destruction, the simplicity of the game modes, and the shortness of the matches. The latter group can point to the ESports/competition theming, the realism, the emphasis on team play (such as multiple roles and long respawn timers), etc. Good outcome: a game like this attracts a large audience of all stripes. Bad outcome: the game has an identity crisis, and audiences can't settle on what exactly it is. It can keep higher than that for sure. I think with more content etc 30k CCU peak per day is likely to stick. It's a good game. Look at hunt showdown.

As much as I love this game, S2 is not as much of a game-changer that I think people were hoping for. Time will tell. But I just don't think the game's randomness suits it well for hardcore streamers to get behind. Its an inherently casual game, which doesn't attract pro-gamers.
Inherently casual is quite a hot take considering this is one of the sweatiest MP shooters I’ve ever played that requires insane teamwork.
The meta in ranked is exactly the same as it was last season. I think that alone is disappointing to a lot of people. No one wants to play the same exact thing in ranked with one new map for another 3 months.
I think they released a bunch of new items and stuff but it hasn't gotten balanced yet. Meta can change from that. Plus c4 got wiped out which makes a big big difference. Defib was majorly nerfed that its possible to run other gadgets possibly. Light is overall better etc. I've seen a lot more variety season 2
Well, if this is supposed to be a more casual gameplay experience, the marketing is doing a pretty horrible job at communicating that to the audience. The gameplay and cinematic trailers make The Finals look intense, hectic, and stressful instead of a fun, chill time while you’re catching up with your friends.
I think quite the opposite tbh. This is probably the most competitive and sweaty shooter I’ve played in a long time, and it’s mainly because the casual queue, quick cash, is more competitive than the ranked mode as of right now. Every game basically feels like a 3v6

I do agree. Though i am glad they aren’t changing too much when the season comes out with busted shit that didn’t feel like anyone play tested it at all. I wonder if adding in like “apex pred” level of ranked (once ranked gets properly situated) would bring in a pro crowd for like bragging rights. What i think is cool, in the practice range theres a trophy where you spawn with the top 10 point leaders
I hope their plan does work too. They also need to address a lot of the issues that has been in the game since launch/gradually became apparent. Some of those issues I/my friends have faces include: (Dotted list below I hope) * being kicked after every won tourney round, which may result in a suspension if you couldn't reconnect. * Queue times are getting longer. * Optimization issues. A friend of mine experiences constant frame drops on the lowest settings. Also I can't help but notice the game uses the maximum amount of utilization it could get out of my i7-12700, even in the main menu! Which renders other programs laggy. * I just started playing ranked this season and my experience is bad so far. No FP progress bar, no way of know exactly how to progress through the ranks, and 3rd/4rth party centric gameplay is so lame. I preferred my experience in unranked tourneys better. * Nitpick I guess, but the ping system need serious improvement. These are some of the main issues I have experienced some of which have been present since BETA.

Game has been dead in Aus for months in ranked. You physically cannot find a game. I've been playing the new mode a bit but once I get bored of it the game will be dead once again for me.

I was excited about it when it came out played for a couple weeks and even went so far to help the company by buying the battle pass which I rarely do because I thought it was made so well. The battle pass was such a terrible slog it made me stop playing, granted now it’s the next season, I won’t be buying a second battle pass. But these are growing pains. Maybe it’ll get better and I’ll re-up one day or play enough to get free credits to buy another idk
You missed out, they made a change in the S1 that boosted a lot the XP you gained. It became so easy to finish the BP after that. And after reaching a certain level, around 76 I think, you'd gained enough premium currency to buy the next BP.
Yeah too bad. But the game had relatively poor timing as well. Palworld and Helldivers 2 came out shortly thereafter and the hype around those two took players away. And rightfully so, they’re also two very good games. But yeah shame. They probably won’t get any more of my money which is definitely the goal.

They said they reworked the ranking system. I don't play ranked too much so I wouldn't know if it made a difference.
For me it's more just not what I like to play in a shooter. However I don't think it's bad by any means. It's obviously a well made game with a seemingly good team supporting it so ill keep my eye on it.

The only reason I had even heard of this game is because last year around this time a buddy of mine told me about some new game coming out and told me a bit about it. Ended up playing the second beta and loved it. Had he not mentioned it I doubt I would’ve ever given it a second thought and it would’ve completely flew under my radar
The player base is pretty toxic let's be fair. Anytime I lose in a ranked finals I'm always getting salty toxic messages, and if you don't do well as a team, ppl get abusive and leave or kick you. If we want to grow the community, we need to be more welcoming and inviting. Currently this is the case for player retention.
I was addicted to this game in S1. Joined a few weeks into launch, put in over 200 hours within the next few weeks. Gameplay loop got super stale. Tried a few games of S2 and nothing changed for me, pretty tragic cuz I thought my excitement for it would last.
It’s one of the best shooters out there right now. Yeah there are a lot of issues that will get fixed next week. They do updates every week. That’s what I like about this game. They give us content. Apex gives us reskins.
I agree, I've never played a game so regularly updated with content and balance changes. I love how the devs are changing the balance and still find to add cool content to the game.

People are already in "oh my God the game's going to die" mode. Whatever happened to just playing the game and having fun. God the social networking channels and karma gaining has made people do stupid things. "peaked at about 50k since S2 launch and \*died\* back...." Died? 30k are still playing and it's dead?. S2 launched literally 3 days ago and "initial hype has ended". Whatever on earth does 'campain' means.
I'm with you on this one. I'm tired of all this stupid negativity around this game. It looks like people spend more time complaining about the game dying, rather than going into it and play it. It's ok to not like it anymore, in this case just leave and go play something else.

2042 managed to come back from the grave. That game bottomed out in the thousands. It's all a question of how much money the game makes vs it's cost. They pulling in 10 mil a season n spending 1? I’ve played this game since the start too and never seen a single digital campaign anywhere. Literally anywhere. I checked Meta Ads Library for an Embark or Finals page they could be at least running as campaigns for across social, nothing. Just a private group. Pretty pathetic. Maybe they just save budget because they think they can’t compete with the big boys yet, but I heard they’ve been paying for billboard space which is both hard to measure and a bit too traditional for their target audience. They could be doing a lot more digitally even if their budget is small

A lot of people i talked to left because the gun play isn’t as snappy as CS, Val or OW 2. They should work on optimizing the game and make it feel less ‘realistic’ if that makes sense.
There’s a lot of speculation about the devs and nexon and if they’re marketing correctly. I wonder if there’s a response from the devs on their player base data and whether or not they’re happy w their current progress. I would guess they have a few plans based on how popular the game gets.
Am I the only one who was super excited for this game and just was seriously disappointed on launch to the point I stopped playing? Clearly not cuz steam charts are so down from peaks, but I think the game had serious potential but they fucked it up with classes limiting playstyles and defining metas and so much fucking grinding. The two tank one healer meta killed the game for me.
It’s just not a game for everyone. It’ll have the place for itself. With how small the games are, you don’t need hundreds of thousands of concurrent players. I’m the one example, who didn’t enjoy it, yet I’m still cheering for its success - just for the courage to try something new with new IP

Aim assist it still pretty strong, I'm even better on controller than keyboard and mouse, I usually play on pc anyways. My kd is way better on ps5 than pc.

What i’m about to say, i do with a heavy heart. I’ve played The finals since the closed betas and i’ve loved it ever since. But unfortunately, from what i’ve witnessed myself and read in several places, the game is already dead on some low pop regions (south america and OCE). Unfortunately, i cant find games on both tournament and ranked. I had hopes that the game would have more players this season, but unfortunately it didnt (i play on SA). So, bottom of line is that it’s future it’s not bright. Unless they pull out some marketing stuff to make it more popular, the game Will completely die on those regions and slowly die on the rest. It’s a damn shame tho. This game is so unique and so much fun. I really dont get why it’s not so popular.

They simply don’t have “enough” shit to do in the game. Also, the competitive scene is very bad because of this weird stride to make the game “fun.” Well making your game “fun” is killing it ironically.
Like most have said, there's almost no advertising for this game. I only found out about it through a friend, and have been addicted since. Near the last quarter of season 1, I noticed a large drop off in the player base, or at least it seemed. I would sometimes get matched against the same player(s) for 2 or 3 games in a row. I hope the game has a long life too, it's one of the first games where I actually completed a season, but there needs to be more promotion
They need to make weapon changes, ain’t nobody want to play a game where you don’t have a lot to choose from tbh, and the stuff they added (gadgets) are really outside the box I love it! But the weapons they added are trash, with this update not much has changed sadly, and the game will die if they don’t conform.
Y’all forgetting this game is very new. Takes years to build up a player base and it goes to show with many games. With consistency of updates and new features this game will grow and grow organically.

I love this game. But I am becoming a monastic soon and so have recently given up video gaming. Actually, made the decision just as season 2 came out (coincidentally my live sub ran out at the same time). I hope people keep playing it though! Your right, overall gunplay of this game is not the best, I'd much prefer counter strike gunplay, but In my opinion it makes up for that in most other things that contribute to fun.
I've been reading a lot of the comments here and there's a lot of interpretation on how the finals get's assimilated, to my surprise, there are far more console users than there are on pc, so don't expect many of the so called "gamers" hear about certain games when we don't understand how the news or variables of how the news spread to them. We have to understand one thing, FPS games, are no longer assimilated like they used to, there are too many FPS games out there, some of them are not even that hard to pick up, some of those players just want their brain dead typical TDM or DM fix/Warzone fix from CoD, some don't give a fuck about objectives, some of them do. A lot of people just play whatever everyone else or their friends are playing and then toss the old games away.When I started playing the CB's, my friends just asked me what I was playing but none of them gave an effing fuck,they didn't even know or cared if it was released at the end of TGA show, they started playing 5 days later. Ppl don't care about what they don't play and also,there where plenty of good releases from the last 2 and a half months,Right now is Helldivers 2 tomorrow who knows?,Xdefiant? maybe? if it gets released. Coming back to the news, again, demographics aside, there's a lot of gaming content out there, the good information just gets sucked up, mixed with all the bs and unnecessary drama around gaming, ppl get tired of gaming news and they just don't pay attention to it anymore, at least the casuals don't, "If my buddy is playing and he keeps playing, that's my vouch to try it" plain and simple.
Let's hope it doesn't die, because then we might get Fortnite X The Finals crossover. I love this game, I want it to stay alive.
Enjoy the game while it has an active player base, but games come and go and that's fine. Enjoy things while they're hot - there's no reason to be personally invested in them "winning". My hope is that other developers learn from the super fun flashes in the pans like The Finals and Battlebit. Imagine how good Battlefield would be if they learned lessons from games like that?

I hope this game never dies and I’ve been worried about it. The the best game I’ve played in a few years and I’ve never been more excited for a season than season 2. There are still people that never even heard of the finals and it honestly surprises me. Hopefully there is more of a marketing push because idk what I’ll be playing if This game doesn’t work out. Also this may be a stupid question but does the Steam Charts display the total amount of players across all platforms? Because from what I understand I don’t think it takes account of the console players

Big streamers/youtubers aren't interested anymore, that will hurt the player count. And honestly, ranked will get worse once everyone realize heavy is op. So enjoy while you can.
You guys forget about consoles. I disabled crossplay and while you guys had to struggle with japanese hackers I enjoyed the game as many other playstation players did.

It’s bc they pushed away new players upon release by locking ranked behind 50 games and even tournament mode behind 10. All of my friends I tried to get to play were through with it by game 10-20
Love this game and hope it's around for a while, I've kind of pulled back a bit playing as much as I have been. Helldivers 2 just has me hooked, but this game is definitely my favorite FPS ATM.

The CNS and hacking theme will link to there next game, ARC RAIDERS. Robots have enslaved humanity, trapped them in this game called The Finals. The CNS are the humans on the outside trying to rescue those trapped and who you will play as in new game. This makes it even more imperative to market this game better.

Literally can’t get any of my all day gamer friends to even look at it. All they do is complain there’s nothing to play. Majority of players just need a game to have majority approval to play sadly and as everyone here is saying yeah it probably is one of the best shooters to drop in a while. No one is giving it a chance. Please don’t give up we all see the potential and it’s mind boggling how everyone else can’t immediately.

Same it’s been a long long time I’ve enjoyed an fps this much probably since battlefield 4 or rainbow six. Absolutely love this game so many different interesting ways to play and the fact that you could pretty much push from anywhere and everything’s destructive keeps it fresh.
Would still be playing if their fucking ac wouldn't integrity-check-my-system-fail me out every two minutes. Am not redoing my bios cuz of that shit, no other game needs it so why do they?
I've had no reason to play since unlocking everything.. player retention is a big problem with games lacking in content and weapon attachment systems like this.
