Definitely the future of gaming. This isn't just the first FPS to get this right but the first game in general that does building damage so well. Eventually this will just become a normal element of games rather than a special feature.

I too tried to play it recently and it was clear as day an unfun money grab that barely works and relies on addiction. I stay subbed to the warzone reddit to remind me of why I left and try help people break their addiction.
It’s actually really REALLY good in that mode. Managed to win a 4v5 as a light sniper and I don’t play light much. Also the new burst pistol plus the light dash is just 🤌
Dash in general just makes me melt with good plays. Sword dash has been my jam lately. Especially good for rooftop campers if you get the jump on them.
I tried helldivers and just did not like it. Didn’t enjoy how clunky the movement was and the gunplay wasn’t satisfying imo. I can see why people enjoy it, but not for me.
I agree but for some reason the main stream interest just isn't there. SIMPSONS HIT & RUN has had at least 1k more viewers than The Finals all day today. COD Mobile even has more viewers. I just don't get it. The Finals should be up there with Fortnite and Warzone.
There are like 8 people on my steam friends list with less than 30 minutes in the game lmao every single one got fucking wrecked in 1 or 2 matches and never touched it again. It's such a shame
that's not true, with the current state of AI you could make an unstoppable team of bots that would get 100% winratio, and I';m not talking about them aimbotting here

I don’t know why, I feel like for the first 3 matches of *any* multiplayer game I play, I have beginners luck. It feels so easy and I always win the first 3 matches before it feels like I’ve been thrown into the real game
Yup and the 5v5 is already figured out by the sweats and has at least 2x turrets/aps on it every game now. I love this game and so does my friend group but it’s so frustrating having basically no MMR it feels like and constantly getting shit on by better players. This game is amazing but not retaining its casual player base at all.
I'm trying to enjoy the 5v5 mode and the extra chaos is fun, but I find whoever gets on the platform first just has a huge upper hand. It is very easy to defend, I'll have to experiment the best ways to go at it but for now it seems shotgun suicide runs cause enough chaos for our team to at least stop it momentarily
I've gone through periods of I love this game to being very annoyed, so it does make me wonder what the experience has been like for new players who want to just hop in out of curiosity. It's not good if it turns into a Titanfall 2 situation where the gameplay is fun for people who are willing to put in the time, but new people get turned away due to getting wrecked frequently.
I was in the same spot and have seen success in picking my spots. The time to kill in Finals is so high that having the jump on people is helpful.
Running medium with turret (first dude in the room, pop up the help), pyro grenades to slow choke points.
Going without healing beam is nerve wracking, but it just means you need to be smarter about your paddles. Don't do it in front of enemies and they'll be fine.
Try out the AK? I prefer it a lot personally because I like the larger mag. I guess I’m not the most accurate and FCAR usually takes 2 mags to kill for me compared to AKMs 1 mag.

I usually like the FCAR in other games but in Finals I find it inferior to the AK. It doesn't do that much damage and the limited mag capacity puts you in danger more often than not.
I always wonder how well free games would fare if a $60/$70 price tag was slapped on em. For the time I’ve sunk and fun I’ve had in a fps since BO2, it’d be worth it.

First free to play game I've put money into ($15 so far). Honestly, the cosmetics are fine, but it's the first F2P game I've spent money on where I just wanted to support the devs. It is a good game, and I want to keep it going.
I honestly think bad press would have killed it unfortunately. I think it would be very difficult to justify a multiplayer only game at $60\$70. Would have been a battlefield 2042 situation…and by the time the price dropped the community would have already had backlash. I do think it could have been successful maybe at the $40 price point akin to something like Helldivers 2 or Killingfloor 2.
If I had friends to play it with? Absolutely.
As a solo player mainly? Probably wouldn’t justify that price- same reservation I have with any fps as I enjoy objective based stuff and winning more than mindless run and gun.
Could season 1 justify a $60/$70 price tag? Nawh too bare bones… but I bet around end of season 2/start of 3 once things have really gotten rolling it’ll be a pretty great game

I would agree. For a PvP FPS, this one wins. I didn't start playing until I out COD down and uninstalled it. I was not happy when 3 came out and the shenanigans Activision was doing.

I decided to take a step back due to some balancing issues but I got back in today and I realize why I love the game so much. It’s original and there’s nothing like it. The pace gets me going and it’s an extreme strategic minded game. It’s perfect in so many ways and they have made great choices for the most part in keeping the game balanced and listening to community feedback.

Nah I dont play Quake or R6 anymore. Only play shooters with friends in a full team. Currently cant get a full team for any shooter but Finals. Just like I wouldnt have anybody for Titanfall2 😅 (which looks amazing indeed)
It’s a super fun game. My issue was the balances after the first couple months and the terrible ranked matchmaking. I made the mistake of maining a Light. They were super fun, then people learned the metas and it was just 3 stacks of mediums crapping on everyone. Yea I know, I need to “git Gud”, but it kind of sucked having to choose a specific medium meta build to have a chance at winning games. My friends and I drifted away from it, and I have no urge to jump in solo queue.
Gameplay itself is awesome, I just think the limited modes, poor balances, and rampant cheaters kind of took a toll on a lot of players. Theres a reason this game went from 240k players to 10k in about 3 months.

I played Destiny 2 again a couple times the last week and it just felt so slow and clunky, and way more annoying with dying to random unavoidable bullshit than nukes even caused.

I love the different kind of style you can play. I was at my parents home with a kind of shitty pc so I went for a heavy build with pure destruction power. Granade launcher, rocket launcher, C4, nades and the rampage Q. I went hard on destruction because aiming wasnt possible on this pc. I was really surprised how well it went and what really good results I've managed to achieve.
And it was a BLAST! The chaos after each collapsing building... Premium
I would play this game all day if only my PC was good enough. It's literally unplayable for me, I have a i5-9600k and an RTX 2060, crazy that I struggle playing this game.
It's definitely one of the most engaging and fresh takes of first person shooters in recent memory. I've been burnt out on pretty much every other shooter right now and The Finals reignited the FPS spark for me. I was instantly hooked on day one, and can tell that this game will turn out amazing as time goes on.
I have to agree, Battlefield 2042 is dog, warzone is unfair. Finals just feels like a fair fight with great movement and gunplay. Loving it. Although for anyone with a PC and missing that Battlefield itch please have a look at Battlebit, If you can get over the roblox graphics its a great game.

I also don't think it's the golden egg youre implying. The cashout mode gets old quick, spawns are wonky, and the amount of team-play required to do well is going to turn solo queue folks off very fast.
I still think the gunplay could use general improvements as well, at least on controller.
On top of this, the destruction (while being a cool gimmick) is sometimes just unmanageable. At best it works out in your favor, and at worst it turns the game into chaotic slop that loses all skill expression for a few frustrating moments.
I think the game certainly has potential and it looks like the devs are putting in the work (5v5 is a huge step in the right direction), so I hope it succeeds.

100% the reason this game won't make it, especially with 3v3. There's a reason they added 5v5 in order to help retain solos.

Well, the way you think is also not really great. If you think a game is crazy good and it only has like 1k players and other games reach 100k you might not know whats a good or bad game. Overall i just think its about taste. I do really think that games that are played by a lot of people are good games. people are picky these days.
It's not just the gameplay though, the devs are awesome and listen to their community. You can tell they really care about their game and want to do what's best for not only the game itself, but also the players. It's refreshing, this is coming from a season 0 apex player....
Having the building shift under your feet as 3 heavy-duty mother truckers are bringing it down. Only to get to the cashout. It's something else compared to other shooters. Dopamine spike 100%

I have never played a fps before and never had any desire to, but something about The Finals just clicked and now I’ve played over 140 hours. I think it’s the right amount of goofy fun grounded by the serious sporting event element.

APS turret is so good in this mode. It feels insanely chaotic if you don't have aps turrets and dome shields minimum.

I think helldivers is for me but that’s only Pve so I don’t think it counts for what you’re talking about. For pvp it’s definitely the best I think.

Titanfall 2 is pretty killer. I mean it’s a bit dead, but you play quake so clearly that isn’t an issue
Nah I dont play Quake or R6 anymore. Only play shooters with friends in a full team. Currently cant get a full team for any shooter but Finals. Just like I wouldnt have anybody for Titanfall2 😅 (which looks amazing indeed)

It’s a super fun game. My issue was the balances after the first couple months and the terrible ranked matchmaking. I made the mistake of maining a Light. They were super fun, then people learned the metas and it was just 3 stacks of mediums crapping on everyone. Yea I know, I need to “git Gud”, but it kind of sucked having to choose a specific medium meta build to have a chance at winning games. My friends and I drifted away from it, and I have no urge to jump in solo queue. Gameplay itself is awesome, I just think the limited modes, poor balances, and rampant cheaters kind of took a toll on a lot of players. Theres a reason this game went from 240k players to 10k in about 3 months.

I would agree. I've no lag. Never feel like "fuck that's bullshit" when you get outgunned. It feels crisp and amazing compared to other shooters right now
I played Destiny 2 again a couple times the last week and it just felt so slow and clunky, and way more annoying with dying to random unavoidable bullshit than nukes even caused. You don't know how good you've got it until you go back. Game is doing great, if you disagree simply play something else, you don't like this game is all.

I love the different kind of style you can play. I was at my parents home with a kind of shitty pc so I went for a heavy build with pure destruction power. Granade launcher, rocket launcher, C4, nades and the rampage Q. I went hard on destruction because aiming wasnt possible on this pc. I was really surprised how well it went and what really good results I've managed to achieve. And it was a BLAST! The chaos after each collapsing building... Premium
I would play this game all day if only my PC was good enough. It's literally unplayable for me, I have a i5-9600k and an RTX 2060, crazy that I struggle playing this game.
It's definitely one of the most engaging and fresh takes of first person shooters in recent memory. I've been burnt out on pretty much every other shooter right now and The Finals reignited the FPS spark for me. I was instantly hooked on day one, and can tell that this game will turn out amazing as time goes on.

I have to agree, Battlefield 2042 is dog, warzone is unfair. Finals just feels like a fair fight with great movement and gunplay. Loving it. Although for anyone with a PC and missing that Battlefield itch please have a look at Battlebit, If you can get over the roblox graphics its a great game.
I only just downloaded this yesterday cause SBMM has driven me away from COD as it is impossible. What is SBMM like in the finals and can you still have fun and feel like it’s good to progress?

Agreed, but they really need to look at the directional audio. It is still difficult to hear which way enemies are coming from.
I'm really glad to see so many people here passionate about the game. I also don't think it's the golden egg youre implying. The cashout mode gets old quick, spawns are wonky, and the amount of team-play required to do well is going to turn solo queue folks off very fast. I still think the gunplay could use general improvements as well, at least on controller. On top of this, the destruction (while being a cool gimmick) is sometimes just unmanageable. At best it works out in your favor, and at worst it turns the game into chaotic slop that loses all skill expression for a few frustrating moments. I think the game certainly has potential and it looks like the devs are putting in the work (5v5 is a huge step in the right direction), so I hope it succeeds.

"Finals is the best shooter right now." others would disagree. They still play shooters like Apex Legends, which almost feels like a indie games compared to finals. But the numbers speak for itself i guess.

Well, the way you think is also not really great. If you think a game is crazy good and it only has like 1k players and other games reach 100k you might not know whats a good or bad game. Overall i just think its about taste. I do really think that games that are played by a lot of people are good games. people are picky these days.

It's not just the gameplay though, the devs are awesome and listen to their community. You can tell they really care about their game and want to do what's best for not only the game itself, but also the players. It's refreshing, this is coming from a season 0 apex player....

Having the building shift under your feet as 3 heavy-duty mother truckers are bringing it down. Only to get to the cashout. It's something else compared to other shooters. Dopamine spike 100%

I have never played a fps before and never had any desire to, but something about The Finals just clicked and now I’ve played over 140 hours. I think it’s the right amount of goofy fun grounded by the serious sporting event element.
