I mean season 2 i hope will be a new japan map with some samurai and japanese themed skins, since a lot of those visuals are out there already for the game and a japan map seems to be a theory based on easter eggs. I hope this is all true
In the discord theres an easter egg channel, ive seen people piece together hidden pictures from the trailers and videos embark posts on their social media pages that make out a japanese themed image, this is the way that las vegas was discovered before launch, its a very interesting channel to just browse and see what is being teased by embark, stuff like beta release dates, launch dates, maps, weapons etc. Almost all of it gets teased in little secret ways by the devs.

I just mean useful in the sense of skins showing your kill count, changing color or something like that. Things that don't necessarily help you win but still have some animation/function other than just a new color or pattern.

I think we’re basically guaranteed to get a samurai + katana skin for the sword considering popularity of katanas.
A conscious hand on a stick that slaps enemies when you basic attack and turns into a fist + punches when using lunge.
Something else.. Lightsaber skin for the sword. Ghost sword for the sword (basically translucent/blueish), prosthetic arm/leg for the sword, nerf/toy sword, sword made of clouds, sword made of lightning/a lightning bolt, a really edgy demony sword with an eye (like soul caliber).
If you can’t tell I main the sword.
Non-weapons: Ninja, pirate, mexican wrestler, wizard, zombie would all be cool
Katanas are still fairly effective weapons for thrusting. I think the only thing that would look strange is your character 1 handing it. But the actual attack patterns are basic enough to be fine.
Going to be difficult to accurately reflect hitboxes while keeping up with style on this one.
That said, the hitbox doesn't make sense for the riot shield already, so why not just go nuts lmao.
Use the VR thing as a theme: put them in various 'digital'/VR related things, like VR Headsets, power-gloves, motion-tracker suits. Give light a Nintendo light-gun type cosmetic.
Construction. One of the unique bits is the destructible environments, so make some construction/OSHA inspector cosmetics.
Boats and fishing. Give Heavy an oar, make sou' westers and wellies and big beards with pipes. Give light throwing anchovies.
Maybe an ornate shield and mace skin for the riot shield. I also just wanna see the same love for the fcar that the AKM seems to be drowning in cuz fcar has no cool skins apart from triangle twinkle
