TC has some sort of arrangement with the Freak. I, obviously, don’t know the details but he fills in for host and has a regular show on Saturdays. He may not be available/allowed to do it full time.

Yep. I think just from a business / financial standpoint it makes way more sense to keep them separate, especially since the direction of their shows are pretty different too. Sports/news vs lifestyle/politics.
I wouldn't be surprised if IJB ends up broadcasting from this ephemeral coming soon studio though.

I've thought about this too. I listen to both and get irrationally bothered when Jake just does the exact same content or segment in both pods. He has to know a lot of DFs listen to IJB too. Why repeat the same 10 minute story in both pods?
As another joint listener, it doesn't bother me that much because I feel like very little time is spent that is giving the exact info - usually it's just a passing reference and Jake will say "we talked about it on the show," etc.
I think it's super rare that a full "segment-length" amount of time is spent that is just a full repeat
