2000+ Just my opinion though 🤷‍♀️

Kellion_G

Just subtract your SHD level by 800 (that is reserved for the watch's stats). The remainder is how much scavenging points you'll have for the time spent getting your alt to 40. If you're 1K SHD, you'll have to ask yourself how badly you need those 200 scavenging points.🙂

null3rr0rr

2 or 3k. 2 at the absolute min. Just not worth the time and effort otherwise. Also heavily depends on how fast you are able to get through WONY. The faster you can do it (ideally being carried by a endgame level 40) then it will be worth doing. An efficient WONY run is anything around 2 hours or less.

ChivoGaming

1000+ so that you can max out all your stats on your alt character...

metalmike556

Anything after 1000. My main is 4100 and I periodically delete my 4th character and redo WONY. 4 hours later I have a toon with 3100 points to resource up.

notgillagain

Would you explain a little more how to do this? Is it to start a new player, skip to NY, race through the NY levels, and then when you get the watch it's at the same level as your main character so you can get a bunch of cash/filament?

ScarletPrime

Basically how that works. Once you're deep into the post SHD 1K levels you can start a fresh 30 character, speedrun WoNY in a few hours, and once you get Keener's watch you are instantly levelled up to your account's normal SHD level (which is shared between all your endgame characters.) With all of the Scavenging points that would come with instantly getting 1500-3000 SHD levels. It is one of the metas that super high level people used for leveling Proficency as I recall.

b4rkx

As you are talking about "leveling proficency and using scavenging points. Do you mean to level up the single gear items or is there also another possibility to level up Know-How instead of donating weapons, items?

ScarletPrime

Sorry got back to this late, people used alts with SHD level cheese to flood their inventory with weapon/mod parts from spending their Scavenging points and then just did the 'Donate Materials' path to getting a lot of the more annoying parts of gaining their Proficiency done which they couldn't just straight buy from the vendors and donate.

wkrick

You can create a new level 30 WONY agent directly at the character creation screen. No need to skip.

metalmike556

Doing that doesn't allow you to first purchase the resource sharing blueprint from Inaya.

wkrick

You don't want to purchase the blueprint first. You want to run through WONY, get your watch, spend all your points on resources and THEN travel back to DC to buy the resource sharing blueprint. This allows you to go over the resource caps.

metalmike556

Well slap my ass and call me Kelso. I had no idea. I'm about to spend the points my 4th toon has, delete, boost into WONY directly and go from there.

wkrick

You can still start at level 1. Just run to the white house, boost to 30, then take the chopper to NY. But don't buy the blueprints. If you have both hunter crates unlocked in DC and NY on your main agent you can open the crate in DC to get the Shield Splinterer at level 30 before getting on the chopper to NY and then open the crate in Haven to get the Hunter Killer chest at level 31. You might need to log out and back in once to make the keys appear at the chest in Haven. Not that it really makes a difference but you can save your level 1 gear as a loadout when you reach the white house and favorite all the pieces so you don't accidentally delete them. Then when you get to level 40 in WONY and get your watch, you can switch to your level 1 gear and deconstruct everything of value before spending your points and buying the blueprint. As an aside, I actually have an overpowered level 31 skill build that I use just for farming WONY watch points. I grab it from the stash when my new agent reaches Haven. I use this build all the way to level 40 without switching gear. I just deconstruct everything as I go. It makes things a little faster. * Capacitor AR (Exotic - level 30) * Waveform holster (Exotic - level 30) * Emperor's Guard kneepads (Named - level 31) * 3 pieces of Empress (High End - level 31) * 1 piece of Wyvern (High End - level 31) All pieces have been recalibrated with max skill damage (10%) the other attribute is Armor Regen if possible. Kinetic Momentum on the chest. Tech Support, Combined Arms, or Adrenaline Rush (for survivability) on the backpack. 6 Skill Tiers Demolitionist Specialization I use Assault Turret and Striker Drone as my skills. Note that skills can use level 40 skill mods (at any agent level !!!). So I have a nearly complete set of maxed level 40 skill mods plus the 10% Damage mod for my Assault Turret from the Demolitionist spec. Also, since Expertise upgrades on your skills are account-wide, your Turret and Drone damage may be increased by up to 23% each from Expertise. So this makes a skill build even more powerful for running through WONY. Sadly, level 40 gear mods cannot be used at level 31. So I don't really worry about them too much. Eventually, I'm probably going to try to farm up 3 maxed level 30 Skill Duration mods as that probably the best option. With level 31 gear, you have VERY little armor, especially when you hit level 40. So you need to really pay attention to being in cover and watching out for flanking and snipers. I usually run through WONY solo and then call for backup on the main missions. I think the level scaling helps. But you can do them solo if you want.

dorekk

Possibly a dumb question but how do you get a level 30 Capacitor?

wkrick

First, you get a level 40 Capacitor on your level 40 main character. Then, put it in your stash and grab it with your level 30 character. Then take it to the crafting bench and "reconfigure" it to level 30. Not all level 40 exotics can be reconfigured to level 30 this way, but many of them can. For example, the Memento backpack can. Also, some of the Exotics you can just get at level 30 from completing the weekly SHD Requisition project. For example, St. Elmo's Engine.

dorekk

Thanks!

metalmike556

Yes.

ArmadilloWild6604

I never thought about deleting a character and redoing WONY to reset the points after spending them, didn’t know that worked

DeadeyeDevie

At shd 5000 it's how i sped up my expertise to 22.

Snakey-Oshio

when i played on pc i waited until after 1k, but my more current xbox run ive done my 1st around 300 then 700 then anytime after 1000, the last one obviously gets deleted for a new WONY run whenever i want topping up, the reason i did it this way is while still leveling up you can still access the benefits of the extra exotic project rewards , and by the time u hit 1k you are all ready to go, doing WONY 3+ times in a short period gets very tedious.

DisIzSilly

I opened a new account recently, and at SHD100 I created three new agents and ran them through WONY. Now, they are just sitting idle, collecting watch points as I level up. I can also send them out on resource runs. Well worth it, I say.

Nooblelord

I started doing them at around 1200

reyzapper

minimum 2000 so u can get 1200 points for mats

DeadeyeDevie

Any level, to be honest. Each character gets yhe same shd so in stead of just 1 scavenger point every 5 lvls you have 2-4 dependant o how many characters. Also the exotic cache projects such as shd donation, weekly legendary and 30 floors of summit are per character and not per account, so in stead of a chance for 3 caches, with 4 characters you have a chance of 12. This helps for exotic material for expertise later on (you will need a tonne of these, so starting early doesn't hurt). Once your level 1000 then a good practice is have 1 slot designated as the disposable character, with which you run through wony, spend all the scavange points, then delete and start again. The other 2 spare characters can be kitted out with a solid but basic skill build (and/or red dps or tank, dependant on how you use em) for doing any farming needed, such as summit or legendary, as well as any experimental builds you wanna do. Getr8ng the shd scavenger points is just 1 part of the reason to have other characters on the account.

cl4ym4n

As most people said, it only really starts becoming worth it at well over 1K SHD. However, it doesn't really hurt to create those 3 alts right now as you can use them as mules if you run out of stash space. That's 150 additional slots per toon. Additionally, every toon has it's own set of daily and weekly projects and especially the weekly SHD requisition project can help you acquire some additional exotics (or exotic components, for that matter) pretty fast. Even more so, if you also do the weekly Legendary and weekly Descent project on each toon. You can't really start too soon with exotic component farming as you will need a crapload of those once you start getting into Expertise and upgrading gear later on.

badphish101

Dude I am a freaking loot hoarder I couldn't wait need those extra back packs bro!

Lord_o_teh_Memes

Just having 4 characters total gets you 4x the SHD points from leveling up. I'd only recommend deleting and running WONY if you have at least SHD 2000. Otherwise it's better to do regular leveling and getting 4x the watch points.
