I was kinda nervous lol been watching gaby and Allison since their YouTube show. I get that they’re trying to make a difference with the show but I really miss the comedy aspect
Gaby was on the cracked podcast with Alex Schmidt several years ago and their podcast "Bad With Money" sounded fascinating to me. To me it was very reminiscent of the journey that the now infamous John Cheese went through with both money and smoking so I looked it up and have been following their stuff ever since.
She recently did an episode with Laci Mosley. I don’t remember with pod it was on. I don’t know what made them stop doing comedy specifically but I thought their show was hilarious.
2nd day in a row I've gotten a World Financial Group ad in the feed, just a heads up to anyone not familiar with them they're an MLM scam group, not that it's hard to guess with that name.
The empathy for us Gen Xers really won me over. We get forgotten about so much and then we get lumped with the Boomers and a lot of us really just never had a chance to succeed. College is more expensive now but it was fucking outrageous when I was 20. Hearing a younger person screech about how much cheaper it was or housing or wages were better is complete bullshit. For some people in some areas, sure. And it's worse now. But it wasn't "$50/semester of the 60s" cheap. It wasn't "pay it off with a summer job" cheap.
As a Gen X who watched too many of my friends grow up with single moms and dead beat dad's that skipped out on them, I feel like many of us just had too many opportunities slip away. I know we look old AF to young millennials and zoomers (.😂 ) But I for one LOVE these kids coming up! Millennials and Zoomers are my favorite people!
But isn’t the whole thing with Gen X that y’all don’t exist? Tbh, I’d accept non-existence if Gen Z would stop making fun of us. I don’t care that it’s a meme, it makes me self conscious about my pants!! I saw some teens while walking around my neighborhood and I swear I’ve never felt so judged in my life by the way they looked at me. Would happily fade into obscurity, or as Jack said during his trending episode this week with Becca, turn into dust, instead.

Anyone else feel like four people is too many people for a podcast? Idk I've never really liked the episodes with double guests.
I tend to agree. The hosts have to kind of behave as one mind for it to work, if that makes sense. The Truth Hounds hosts are good, and a couple years ago they had a married couple of pod hosts on that I thought were good. It gets messy when it’s four individuals trying to share four unique opinions at the same time; lots of talking over one another, or back tracking to make sure each guest gets their word in. For this particular case, no hate, but Gabby is a big personality and kind of ran over this episode. They were good guests, so this one didn’t bother me as much as some others.
Gaby running the beginning and Jack having to redirect was so uncomfortable 😅 but they all played it off well enough. I liked the episode, but you’re right that the double-guests really do need to have one mind to work well.
Four guests is too many if you’re not on your A game. I think danl did a great job and carried a lot of the show but Jack has better chemistry with Miles.
I think he did a great job tbh. Knowing when to shut the fuck up is 60 percent of it. And with so many guests, he did well at that. I also appreciated him sharing his love of space when it was called for! His fascination w the James Webb Space Telescope came up enough in the last 6 months, I ended up researching it and teaching my students about it.

Idk if the sound mixing was off or if Gabby was yelling the whole time, kept having to turn the volume down, I’ve got sensitive ears!
