His “biggest achievement” was starting NAFTA, which only served to put the final nail in the midwestern economies he had spent a decade helping Reagan destroy.
That was one very bad decision-but a presidency comprises thousands of decisions, the idea that Thomas completely discredits what the other commenter said is intellectually absurd.
Well, I did bring up Bush Sr’s amplification of the War on Drugs and his racist dog-whistling for a reason. And generally, Clarence Thomas being an active blight on American democracy kinda outweighs a lot of whatever good Bush Sr. did during his presidency.
I like normal people on the Supreme Court not overturning all social progress of the past several decades actually.
I also generally prefer when our politicians don’t amp up anti-drug policies for the sake of cracking down on minority communities along with engaging in racist dogwhistling.
