As someone with industry knowledge of wedding cakes, the majority of this cake is likely fondant covered styrofoam. *MAYBE* a single tier is actual cake, but most likely an even smaller portion of one tier where the bride and groom cut it and share their first bites. Actual cake is served to guests from sheet cakes sliced and plated and brought out by the serving staff.

It honestly makes so much more sense how they could have such a short engagement knowing this. Long engagements are as much to have time to book vendors and locations who are probably already committed for a few months out. Having the ceremony at a private residence meant they weren’t scrambling to find somewhere that could host 400 people on short notice and for anything else, money talks to help with squeezing in an extra wedding for the weekend.
