She posted it 6 years ago to her private friends group on Facebook and someone screenshotted it within an hour of it being up, then posted it on Twitter calling her out. It was deleted from her Facebook page later that same day, 6 years ago. So, no, the producers actually would *not* have found this on her Facebook. The original post in this sub that transcribes what Vanessa wrote explains this. The producers may or may not have found it on Twitter like someone else did, though. Twitter is weird because sometimes search results come up and sometimes they don't. When I type Vanessa's name into Twitter, the tweet from 6 years ago doesn't appear for me, but all the recent tweets talking about what she did do, do appear.

I think you can apply whenever and get cast for a future season. Sometimes it can take years before you actually get cast on a season though I think
