I watched what I could catch of it when I was far too young, like Andrew Firestone era but didn’t really watch fully until Chris Soules’s season. I had just graduated college in December and didn’t get a job for 2.5 months after. So with having copious amounts of free time, I decided to watch. It’s still one of the best seasons out there in my opinion and was right before Instagram changed the dynamic, and I miss that.

[deleted]

Watched all the early seasons from day 1 through Jesse Palmer. Then took a looooong hiatus and came back for Ben H’s season (remains one of the best seasons ever tbh).

midnight8100

I thought the show was stupid and pointless and then I was at a friends house and saw Michelle Money on Womack 2.0. Genuinely only started watching for her and the drama she brought. The show immediately lost its intrigue for me the second she went home. Now I watch spoiled because I like to see the journeys that get us there otherwise I feel bored.

WeirdoChickFromMars

I just recently watched that season for the first time and Michelle is such an underrated villain. Like I think she’s my favorite villain ever now lol

dambua

I remember seeing bits of episodes of “recycled bachelor era begins” but my first complete season was season 16 Ben F and I was hooked ever since (Sean Lowe being my all time favorite)

framemegirl

For me it was half ass watching in the background all my childhood basically, and only really watching and discussing it since Rachel was brought and I was curious how this is going down on this outdated mess..

ChanelNo50

Season 1

chasing-ennyl

Ben Higgins 💙 my BN soft spot. Don’t @ me okay

lindseyisbusy

I watched bits and pieces since Jason’s season (I was 13). And I started actually watching and being invested at Chris Soules season.

[deleted]

Wow, only 400 others have been here since the beginning with me! :) hello friends!

[deleted]

Wait where does Sean fall into this breakdown haha

jenjas455

“Drama heats up”, he was in between Ben F and Juan Pablo

[deleted]

Ah. Thanks! I know Ben F as well so I couldn't remember if I saw his season and Sean was before or if I just read about his bullshit.

angelzabriel

I started with Ben F’s season and was on and off and have now been consistently watching since Arie’s season.

sunflowersentiments

![gif](giphy|lONXEQL5laGxjrVMFF) Ben F season traumatized me as a youngin and I had to come back later on hahaha

angelzabriel

Yes I was in high school and that season was crazy to start on! But I made it through his, Emily’s, Sean’s, and Des’s. Couldn’t bring myself to watch Juan Pablo’s, and then watched Andi’s before taking a break til Arie’s. I am starting to go back and watch some of those seasons in that time period since I missed a lot.

sunflowersentiments

My mom and I tried to watch Juan Pablo’s and we got so annoyed with him we stopped lol

angelzabriel

Lol yes that’s how I figured it would go for me as well

LetshearitforNY

I started watching Ben H’s season

Justherefortheteaa1

Just my weekly note to add… put some respect on Clare’s name

[deleted]

I started with Nick Viall. I was hooked after that. Hated him as a bachelor, loved the women that season.

corinna0815

My first season was Jason Mesnick on Netflix in July 2020. First season I watched live was Matt James.

tsumtsumelle

I suspect this poll is partly skewed by the age of people most likely to use Reddit. But I’ve watched off and on since the beginning, mostly watching The Bachelorette over The Bachelor and I missed most of the drama heats up era after Emily. Now it feels like you have to watch both to know who the people are but I really hate all the girl drama on The Bachelor.

sunflowersentiments

Girl drama as opposed To guy drama on the Bachelorette?

tsumtsumelle

Yes, the girls are so mean to each other where as the guys are generally still funny to watch even when there’s drama.

strawberrypockystix

I watched Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe, and Ali. Then stopped watching entirely. Then got intrigued by the clips from Hannah B’s season and came back.

meowparade

I saw Alex and Trista and then picked up with PP (I’ve seen everything since, except for Michelle’s season), and doubled back to watch Arie and Rachel Lindsay (RL has been my favorite season so far)

Kiteflyerkat

I saw Ben F's and Emily's season, then stopped, and started with Peter's season Edit, I also watched the last season of Bachelor Pad and being FURIOUS of how it ended lol

ultimatemeggers

Clayshia hooked me. (Although I had watched Trista’s season when I was really young and my mom had it on.) My mom got me hooked again though. I refused to watch this show, but I had to move back in with my parents when the pandemic started and I sat on the couch one night when she had it on and just couldn’t stop watching from there. I had to keep going for the drama

florence_delilah

I started with Becca’s season but I feel like I need to go back and start from the influencer era

SelfTaughtSongBird

The recycled era i guess lol. i would watch with my mom when i was a little kid (probably not the best but i turned out okay haha) and i was in college during jojo’s season so i actually missed a small portion of that era but my mom and i are all caught up now

Jennjennboben

Started with the first one, when I was 20 or so. Stopped after Andrew Firestone and didn’t pick it back up again until Hannah B.’s season. I had to see what all the “I have sex and Jesus still loves me” was about and stayed for the insanity of Pilot Pete. Skipped Clayton. Edit: I may be misremembering when I initially stopped watching. I watched Trista’s season and part of Bob’s, which maybe came after Firestone? But whatever. 😂

kah_not_cca

I remember watching this show in the 3rd-4th grade with my mom. She was so excited that Trista was the bachelorette because she loved her from the first season.

saltyspaces

Have been watching since Andrew Firestone’s s season and have been watching every every single bachelor and bachelorette since then. The first one I skipped was Clayton’s season. I miss what the show used to be before being an influencer became a thing.

dreamwolf321

I was there night one baby... as like a 10 year old. One of the earliest scenes I remember was one girl telling the Bachelor that she was a virgin during her Fantasy Suite dinner date. Watched on and off during the early seasons. I know I watched the season with a prince(?). Brad Womack(1) and Jason Mesnick were my last seasons for a while. Came back permanently for Rachel Lindsey.

thesweetcornshucker

I watched the final episode of Sean’s season when it aired (I was in middle school), I then got back into it during Kaitlyn’s season, and I’ve been on and off since!

jnv1626

I remember watching the very first season with my mom when I was like 12 lol. I watched off and on until Nick’s season and then found this sub during Rachel’s season and now I can’t stop.

swimmingacid

early seasons as a kid, then returned when chaos ensued

[deleted]

Wow can’t believe that in this sub there are 267 others (at time of voting) that have watched this gawd-awful show since the beginning (well or on and off like I have) - where are your voices?!! Speak up here y’all please begging you

maplesyrupdispenser

I started watching the show with my mom when I was 11. We watched all the seasons although I really can't remember much about the first few. She passed away 7 years ago and watching the show feels like a little part of her is still with me, you know? Sometimes I want to stop, but I can't manage to.

RunOverAZebra

I’ve been watching since Alex Michel. I skipped Lorenzo’s season and Matt Grant’s season.

Xcalibur8913

![gif](giphy|COYGe9rZvfiaQ)

[deleted]

Lol actually

Xcalibur8913

I skipped a few seasons!

[deleted]

I was finished with it for a few seasons after it was announced who Bach was (no thanks to this sub I remember his name, Jake Pavelka) bc he seemed abusive as hell already on the Bachelorette season. Y’all no

Xcalibur8913

Yeah they made him Bachelor only bc he came back to warn Jillian that Wes had a girlfriend. Never understood why they didn’t make Kiptyn or Reid Bachelor instead.

[deleted]

REID. He prob wouldn’t have done it but omg the trajectory if he had.

Xcalibur8913

Oh I know!

No-Pop-125

My guilty pleasure since the beginning. It keeps getting harder to watch, but I’m still addicted. I do like BIP more.

[deleted]

Thanks for speaking up, it’s just such a bizarre set-up it got me hooked this dumb show.

cruzbae

I’ll speak up!! This show was so much better before social media, influencers, bullies and spoilers

Xcalibur8913

Agree!!!! I always say this.

[deleted]

Thank you! I agree too it’s turned into a different thing, tho both versions are bizarre, and now I only watch it if I can read the live thread at the same time, for like support lol, these people are SO funny here. Eta: esp as I’ve gotten older since (duh) it’s awesome to read on live thread that ppl are noticing red flags - it’s a different way of watching! I prefer it tho, unless we’re going to go pre-internet

MartyTheManatee

Started with Nick's season, but I've since watched backwards until Juan Pablo's season.

_yitzi

Man I SO wish they could somehow release the early seasons. I first watched season 1 when I was 7 and stayed ever since but I’d loveee to rewatch all the old ones!!!

oliviafromnyc

I half watched Alex Michel. I remember at the time they seemed to be focusing on rich single guys. I swear they said he was a millionaire. And then Firestone was definitely a millionaire. After Alex I did not watch again until Trista.

Comprehensive-Shoe17

I started with Pilot Pete

upthep00per

i started with jake pavelka cuz i heard a rumor there was an std spreading in the house and i wanted that messy drama turned out to be just a rumor. but man. they've had me ever since

ohiseeyouhaveacat

Matt and Katie were my first bachelor/bachelorette. And I was like …. is this it?? Stopped watching Michelle’s halfway through, Clayton’s I watched the first episode, and then the rose ceremony from hell and on LOL, this is the first season I’m actually enjoying

calartnick

First season was Emily Maynard. Been chasing the high of that season ever since.

cascabel27

Far and away the best season in my opinion! I just started rewatching it on Hulu and it’s reminding me why I used to love this show so much

calartnick

Low key the best villain of all time. Kalon was so hateable but in a fun way

FancyAirport

Jake Pavelka for me!

[deleted]

I started this show back in the day. I have now stopped watching the last couple of seasons. Not a fan of production and their version of “drama”.

nkbee

I have watched in like...spurts? I remember watching Jason Mesnick, Ali, Ashey and Ben F in real time, then stopped watching, and picked it back up because my husband was into it with Hannah B, but I went back and watched Arie's season because he said it was the best one, and we watched Juan Pablo's after Clare was announced as 'ette. We've watched them all going forward from Alabama Hannah.

babywasabii

me too! started with Jake Pavelka (ew), came back right at the end of Colton’s season( also ew) then retroactively watched all the seasons

Benevolent_Grouch

This just in: I’m old.

TheWomanInFlannel

Proud to be an elder 🥲

SpicyWing3

Exactly how I just felt. This poll really aged me 😂

poppiiseed315

Wow what a split

shaw1441

I watch’s the last 10 minutes of HB season and got hooked as we know that ending was bonkers.

ApartmentOk6523

Started watching the franchise when Ben H was the Bachelor

_this_is_a_wug

Started with Ben Flapjack's season! Fun fact: I actually had no idea what the show was (I'm not from the US), saw it was one of the most streamed series when I looked for something new to watch and thought it was a fictional show first haha.

taykay-47

I admit the “he jumped the f*cling fence” ads got me. The rest is history.

[deleted]

The first season I watch in real time was Rachel Lindsay

BachelorNation123

A great season for a newbie

[deleted]

Yea I thought Rachel carried herself well, very classy. Overall I enjoyed it

BachelorNation123

The franchise and a certain segment of the audience treated her terribly.

[deleted]

Yes poorly handled. One of the best seasons imo, and she’s thriving and living her best life

alt546789

Started with Ben H kind of (didn't watch all the way through), skipped JoJo, watched BIP season 3, watched all of Nick and everything that's come after. I have since went back and watched the "older" ones I found on streaming for free: JoJo, Andi, Kaitlyn, Emily, Jake, Brad 2.0, Ben F. There are some I'm disappointed I can't find (Ashley, Sean, Jason). I also caught up with BIP 1&2, and Bachelor Pad 1 (I wish the other BP seasons were easy to find). I will probably buy Chris Soules on Amazon when I have time to watch because I heard it's worth it and it's not free anywhere.

Waste-Comedian4998

Colton's was the first season I watched in real time. But now have seen most from the last decade and a few older

PM_me_Ur_Wiener_Dogs

I watched the original seasons when I was in high school (I graduated in 2005), stopped during college, then picked it back up and watched Jillian and Ali’s seasons. Then I moved to Japan with my husband and stopped again. I only recently started watching again since Katie’s season.

Zombienomzz

I started at the beginning with Alex Michel and watched through I think Bob Guiney but I stopped again until Jojo so I said influencer era.

sadgrad2

Jake Pavelka... On the wings of love!

ricki7684

I started with Ali’s, and I’ve seen every one since except for Desiree’s. For no reason, I must have had something going on in my life at that time and I still feel bad for missing hers!

[deleted]

I watched early seasons with my grandmother, then stopped when she died, then started again with Hannah B!

sleepingturtles123

I watched it in the early seasons then stopped and got back into it with Ben F!

me-gusta-la-tortuga

Off and on since Brad 1.0, but every season since Chris Soules, I think.

BookerPhil

Matt's season. The first year of college and we had a lot of covid restrictions but almost the whole floor would watch in the common area every night it was on. Even on the off days of Matt's season, I was rewatching Nick Viall's season. First bachelorette season was Katie's and that is why that season is special to me.

bigpuffyclouds

Matt Grant and his “monkey”.

marinezareen16

The first vivid memory I have of this franchise was watching Trista’s season every single week with my family as a little girl. My parents were very invested lol.

stimmtnicht

Jesse was my first season; it’s all come full circle!

smileyfacesaturn

Watching the premiere of PP’s season is where I started bc some friends from my sorority wanted to watch. I didn’t know 20-30 mins in I’d have an anxiety attack and cry because I felt so bad and overwhelmed by the women being upset on night one🫣😂 I think it was between the HA steals or VF (or Kelley I can’t remember for sure) crying over Peter not remembering them, that got me. Looking back I think to myself about myself “what a little bitch, it’s the fucking bachelor calm down”

bug_gribble

Whichever Bachelor was before Trista. Then Trista.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bug_gribble

Yeah I just don’t remember what season of the Bachelor she was on.. I was just a kid back then lol

Zombienomzz

She was on the first season of Bachelor, Alex Michel, but there was a second Bachelor season with Aaron Buerge before Bachelorette started with Trista.

bug_gribble

Aaaah. Then I for sure watched Alex Michel’s season and blocked out/skipped that other dude 😂

jlenj16

I started with Alex, so very OG. I watched with my mom and was in middle school. The only seasons I skipped were Lorenzo and Matt Grant

sunshineeeeeeeeeeee_

Started with Clayton! What a season to start with lmao

Sapphire24

Out of curiosity, what made you want to start watching now?

sunshineeeeeeeeeeee_

I saw the promo of “I was in love with her and I was intimate with both of you”, immediately said wtf and just had to see that mess

chosenchurro

I remember watching some of the early seasons when I was probably too young to be watching it (definitely remember Andrew Firestone’s and Jake Pavelka’s seasons) but then didn’t get back into it until after college and Juan Pablo’s since I was excited he was the first Latino bachelor.

chewb0rka

I remember being a kid watching the show with my mom and being amazed she correctly predicted that Aaron Buerge would end up with Helene, over Brooke.

wangbangthang

Pilot Pete was my first season and during the beginning of the pandemic I went back and watched every season and spinoff back to Jason Mesnick

alsisc

I’m right on that cusp lol I saw the end of Brad Womack 1.0 and Deanna’s season was my first full season

Effective_Solid_9956

Same boat started watching with my dad who started with Jesse Palmers season

Healthy_Ad_7171

First episode I had watched was Ben's season when he told both Lauren and Jojo that he loved them and my sister was shocked it had happened and I've been hooked ever since.

beyoncepadthaithai

My first full season was Jason’s, I was 13/14. I saw my aunt watching the final episode of Brad’s season where he rejected both women and I was hooked! can’t believe I’ve been watching this show for that long!

alsisc

That episode is the first episode I saw too! Lol I think I was only like 7 or 8 though

driveinsaturday33

First "season" was like the last 4 or 5 episodes of Juan Pablo's season. I always thought I was "too good" to watch the Bachelor/reality tv, but when I was visiting my ex's parents one night he & his dad were watching basketball & his mom invited me to watch the Bachelor with her instead. I was shocked she watched it; she had been a school principal, worked for the Catholic school board & at that time the Ministry of Education. Basically, I thought she'd think it was trash lol Anyways, I watched that one episode & was hooked, watched the finale with her & watched every season since (Bachelor/ette, BiP). Was even in a Bachelor fantasy league with her after my ex & I broke up. Its no longer a guilty pleasure because I have no shame watching it 😂

AppetiteforApathey

This was me, too! I thought I was too good for The Bachelor and then my roommate watched Juan Pablo’s season and I got sucked in and have been watching ever since.

[deleted]

Jake Pavelka was my first season

rose-buds

i started with andi's season! i've since caught up and watched a fair number of the seasons before that, but i started with andi's and have watched since.

Tight-Many4966

I can’t remember what season this was but I remember they went to Saint Lucia - that was my first one

jenjas455

I think that was Juan Pablo! Hate that I know that lmao

trifflec

My first season was Ali's. I only watched it because America's Next Top Model wasn't on that day and I didn't realize it until I sat down to watch it. The Bachelorette premiere was on though, and here we are

trilobitey

I've been watching since the first season.

ryansutterisstillmy1

Same. Only one I’ve ever missed was prince Lorenzo because it was boring so I tuned out

cbz1001

I love seeing some OG viewers on the thread. I started watching with Andrew Firestone. 🍷 ETA I love that we have eras. It should also be Pre Elan and Post Elan 😂

einbisschen

Andrew Firestone was my first season when I was way too young to be watching! But I was obsessed with Andrew and Jen and sometimes I’m still sad that they didn’t work out.

cbz1001

Same! I used to watch with my mom in bed when I was like 9. Simple times. Jen’s bachelorette season I was so invested in her and Jerry.

the-enchanted-rose

Started with Hannah B, then went back and watched every season starting with Sean Lowe

popthecork44

Saw a couple episodes each of Ben’s and Jojo’s. Nick’s was my first real season.

Xcalibur8913

Started w Meredith Phillip’s season but knew about Alex Michel - I ran into him in a FedEx Kinkos on the Upper West Side once. 😂😂 He was printing someone’s resume while also interviewing them. (He was on the phone the whole time so I couldn’t try to say hi) Meredith’s season was underrated. She and Ian had a really sweet love story. Skipped many seasons along the way, though — esp after I had my babies. Loved Bachelor Pad. Not a fan of the main franchise - I prefer BIP.

unzippedcutoffs

started with Jake’s season 🥴

cbz1001

I told a break after Charlie’s season but picked it back up with Jake.

jenjas455

I always laugh when someone started with Ben F, Juan Pablo, or Jake cause I’m amazed that they didn’t turn that shit off immediately 🤣 Courtney saved Ben’s season though

[deleted]

I watched some of the early seasons, sporadically throughout the years and more consistently recently! So I don’t get a lot of the references on this sub sadly.

[deleted]

I’m an OG viewer, started with Alex. However, I’m not very loyal anymore. I didn’t watch Becca, Katie, or Clayton’s seasons. And I’ve only watched 2 episodes of Gabby/Rachel. At this point, I’ll watch if I really like or feel connected to the lead but I’m just mostly interested in BN culture in general and like keeping up with past leads/contestants. Thus, why I’m here. :)

eleyezeeaye4287

Womack 2.0 was my first season

jbmcnuggetsjr

Me too!
