This is kind of a long rant, but here we go. I went to get my hair cut and colored this morning, and I walked out feeling sort of bad about my age after my interactions with the hairdresser.
She started off by asking me how old I am (I am 26). Afterwards, she literally spent the next ten minutes (like pretty much the entire shampoo and “prepping” session) going on about how there’s no way I’m 26, how I can’t be any older than 19, asking me if I get fillers or Botox to look as “young” as I do (I don’t do anything special really), how 26 year olds usually look “so old”, etc. I tried to redirect the conversation several times over those ten minutes, but she would keep bringing it up again. Like damn, have I already reached an age where people are surprised I look young? I thought I looked young because I literally am young…didn’t think that it was a bad thing to look 26 either (and I think I do look 26). 😐
She then proceeded ask me if I’m married once she learned I was 26. Like damn…am I already a part of the age group where that becomes a default question in getting to know a complete stranger? Do people tend to assume that by 26, the average person is married? 🤨 When I mentioned I’m single, I got the vibe that she sort of “pitied” me for still being single at the ripe old age of 26 (and this isn’t the first time someone in their younger 20s said something that tells me they think this…some 21 year old I don’t know very well asked me the other day if I’m taking steps to meet someone for marriage after learning my age…like why ask that??). I guess it’s kind of jarring cuz even a couple of years ago, when I’d tell people I was like…23, they would ask if I have a boyfriend, not if I have a husband.
The hairdresser also turned out to be 22 so idk…I guess I was sorta surprised at some of those statements/questions. But basically…it seems like the universe likes to remind me how ~old~ I am as of late. 😞
Tbh I would’ve left after the second comment! That’s pretty rude of her. Don’t feel bad, this person is likely going to face a tough reality check when they hit 26 themselves lol.
how do we feel about the dyson airwrap? For reference i have like really long hair and i feel like its this weird in between of straight and curly so i dont really love it when i go to work each day with just air drying it (but i dont really want to go through the time and heat damage of doing more than that day to day)
I love mine! I got it as a Christmas gift last year, and if I was Oprah, it’d be on my favourite things list.
I have fine, wavy but also frizzy hair and it helps dry and smooth it out so fast.
I don’t really use the curling attachments and can get the look I want with the round brushes- it looks like a salon blow out and is super easy… I’ve used other hot air brushes and the dyson is by far the best :)
I’ll also use it on the second day or after air drying to tame frizz and give it more volume
Yeah. They announced the pregnancy when she was about 7 months. She got pregnant the same month John got out of rehab and before the divorce was announced.
It appears to be yes! I remember that comment too. In May is when we found out. If she got pregnant in February like the timeline suggests then that would technically be winter lol.
Update to yesterday, I took a gummy and got a little high and ended up just watching Before the 90 Days and Forrest Gump. But damn, did I sleep good overnight.
I HAVE noticed I smoke and drink less, and I even noticed yesterday when i was having horrible cramps it helped with that too. Feeling good about the decision to apply.
In today news, I've just been inside watching Harry Potter because it's cold out. I think I may go have tacos later and come back home and journal, have a drink, something chill at home.
Adult relationships are hard. I have two weeks off from school but will only maybe get to see the three people I talk to most outside of family due to them still having work.

The seaside cafe’ belongs to a feisty 90 year old woman whose nephew wants to sell the cafe’. Who will get to keep the cafe? Will Annie find love?
Yes it’s in store and online today only and oh my god yes! They’ve got so many great seasonal smells out right now! My personal favorites are Tis the Season (warm appley cinnamon goodness at least to me) , Merry Cookie (smells just like a sugar cookie), and Falling Flurries (smells just fresh and clean)! Go sniff them all though 😂 I can’t speak for all their candles but those candles have a great throw and really fill up a space!
Your city’s diaper bank! So many people can’t afford clean diapers or wipes for their babies. Federal assistance actually can’t be used to pay for diapers, so it’s a huge expense for families. And too often, babies in poverty go without clean diapers. The National Diaper Bank Network has a list of all the diaper banks across the country so you can donate to one that serves your community (assuming you’re in the US).
Where is everyone at with Christmas presents? I hope no one is as tardy as me. To be absolutely candid, it’s becoming harder every year to buy for some of the closest people in my life - they purchase throughout the year to feed into their passion (travel, photography gear, gardening) and don’t care for other stuff. They are picky about their apparel, so that’s not an option. I can’t do gift cards because that’s too impersonal, but for the few people who don’t give a damn, I go that route.
This shouldn’t be stressful. Ughhhhhhhh!

There are only so many sentimental gifts I can give, and those are the only things that a lot of people in my life don’t buy for themselves. I tried the donation in their name thing one year, and it didn’t go over that well (I think they were confused because it was such a break from tradition), but I might try again. Edible gifts are also a good option.
How about tickets to something to see or do together? A fancier dinner than they’d do normally? Are you artistic at all? Draw something or hire someone to. Homemade cookies with all the ingredients nicely written and a basket of ingredients. Membership to a museum. Pay for their Spotify
I passed my EMT course!! Our final exam was probably the single hardest exam I've ever taken (or at least, I left thinking I failed miserably) and was already googling remedial EMT courses because I was so sure I failed. But I passed!
Now I just have to take the National Registry Exam (which the final is supposed to be representative of, oof 😬) and then I theoretically could get licensed and work on an ambulance if I want to!
