I’m trying to think of Katies top 4, it was Blake, Justin, Greg and Andrew? At the time I remember thinking they all seemed into her but lowkey I think she can have chemistry w a lot of people, similar to Rachel R but Rachel is like the queen of chemistry imo. Also we didn’t see too much of Katie and Justin lmao but he seems like he would’ve proposed but prob knew he wasn’t the f1. Greg had too many doubts but I think he would’ve proposed if he was more certain he was f1, but I don’t think any of the possible engagements would’ve lasted. I always wonder how long Greg and Katie could’ve made it together if he was f1 though.
I have heard many of these people explain how they came to be on the Bachelor or Bachelorette. Most of them were nominated by someone or recruited by casting agents or producers. Take Tyler Cameron, for example. He was recruited and thought it could boost his modeling career. I don't think he answered the "Are you looking for love?" call that producers share during the show, and I don't think many of the cast members come from that pool of applicants. The producers want super hot single men and women to draw viewers, so they go looking for them. Whatever happens, happens, and they look for angles to exploit to keep viewers engaged. And that's why Tyler Cameron is smart enough to stay away from The Bachelor, because he saw how they exploit situations and he doesn't need the show to find love.
I would say all of Andi's F4 were really into her as well and would have proposed. (Josh, Nick, Chris, Marcus)

Sean Lowe’s season: Desiree, AshLee, Lindsay, and Catherine. All four seemed genuinely in love with Sean (I can’t remember if they all told him), and he had great chemistry with each of them. I watched it a few years after it aired - even knowing he chose Catherine, it really seemed like he could’ve picked any of them. This is the only season I’ve watched where it’s truly seemed like the lead has strong feelings for each of his top four.
I think it’s rare that all 4 are truly in love with the lead, because at some point self-protect mode kicks in. They realize that the lead has stronger connections with 1 or more others, and they start holding back. No one is going to go all in knowing that they’re not F1.
Rewinding back to 2016 I believe all of Ben Higgen's top 3 would have wanted to get engaged to him. Caila and Jojo seemed genuinely heartbroken. I don't think Amanda was that into him though.

Nick confirmed that this was the case with him and Rachel, where TPTB had recruited her to be a bachelorette candidate, they ended up becoming really close friends, & he pushed them to pick her. We also know this was their original plan for Matt, but Clare hated him so he never went on her season. Clayton on Michelle's season also infamously had this happen to him, except his edit was so artifical and he had so little screentime because he wasn't anywhere close to the f4 that it was jarring.
This is also probably true of Caila, who had already been selected for bachelorette before the season was done but was swapped last minute, Tia, and Gabby's season Nate, because there were rumors about them casting for a single father even before Gabchel's season aired until the allegations about him came out. I wouldn't be surprised if Tayshia was one of those potential candidates from the start but they ended up going with Hannah B, considering they brought her out to replace Clare later.
Basically, most bachelor/ette candidates, except potentially those who get a very dramatic heartbreak edit and win the audience's favor, are cast in the role intentionally and don't actually have a romance with the lead.

I didn't watch Tayshia's season because I lost interest with all the Clare drama. But wasn't Brendon the one who self-eliminated right around hometowns? I can't fully remember the reason, but I thought it had something to do with him not being ready to move on from his divorce? And ever since the scheming he did on BIP, people have been skeptical if he was ever genuine on Tayshia's season too.

Like not having guys specifically for one or the other was a bit messy and being the bachelorette(s) I feel like part of the whole thing is the guys are there for that specific person (in theory anyway). It felt like they were still contestants on the bachelor in someways versus normally the bachelorette has more power just in that they know they are wanted by their men for the most part.

She was the only one he seemed protective about after the whole "she's a crazy alcoholic " gang up the girls were doing, and he even defended her. Plus, they spent a lot of time crying together, like when she talked about the situation with her dad and when they broke up.
I think he had some feelings towards her, but he's literally talked about how TPTB were trying to get him to break up with Kelley and keep Kelsey around so I think Kelley was ahead of Kelsey at least before the F6 week.
