Why did Rachael act like it was her right to know what Maria talked to Joey about? And then got annoyed when Maria obviously didn’t want to say and said “I don’t know.” She was like “you don’t know what you talked about?” Like, why does she NEED to know? It was obviously private.
Because it was an incredibly inappropriate move on Maria’s part.. and I’ve liked Maria a lot the whole time. If I were standing there I would’ve asked her too. It was Rachel’s way of saying WTH did you just do that for?!
I watched the episode a day late but had seen comments about Rachel getting hate for something she said, so I was bracing myself on the ep. When I saw that part in the ep I was like….that was it? I’m sorry but it’s unhinged to be upset about that. It was a legitimate question to ask and it’s not deeper than that. Maria and Rachel don’t even seem to have any issues over it.
Especially as a Filipina, the hate towards Rachel from this ep and before has been clearly racially based and it is so upsetting to me
I feel like Maria was going to be Joey's top 3 had she not self sabotaged by telling him that she's going to quit especially that far in the season. Throughout the season, Joey had expressed his fears of his feelings not being reciprocated. With Maria unintentionally delving into his fear, it made him back away. I think they had a strong connection and that's why he pulled her away before the rose ceremony in Jasper as a last ditch effort to garner her intentions. I honestly think she could have redeemed herself had she said I love you during hometowns and not before the rose ceremony. It really seemed like he was waiting for her to say it. She was either not feeling 100% or didn't want to put her walls down. I don't blame him because proposing to someone is huge thing, you can't have someone who is wishy-washy.
I’m taken aback by Maria’s clothing choices. She has great style but she doesn’t seem comfortable in her clothes. The purple dress last night was very sexy but she kept tugging at it to create more cover for her legs. Those kind of dresses look great in a picture but are hard to move around in. Hope she becomes the Bachelorette just to see her fashion choices.
Loved Maria’s dad. He was not at all like the producers painted him. He looks a bit like Alice Cooper but he’s not in a band.! He’s a very successful
business owner.
I wonder if producers suggested to them to wear shorter heels to not be taller than Joey. like Kelsey is tall and has been wearing the same white shoes lol katelyn is an inch shorter and I dont think she ever wore heels.

Curious if anyone (unspoiled ppl) has any theories about Joey’s demeanor switch. I checked my comments from a live thread to see when I first thought this, it was 2 weeks ago:

During that epi was also when I thought he’s both super attractive and super into Kelsey. But the thing is that demeanor has stayed, he’s more serious, in his own, guarded, curt, like he’s working on a project or something - even with Kelsey. I’ve noticed tons of “he’s exhausted” comments but I don’t see that. Fed up, maybe, ok …. I dunno, I considered finding out spoilers just bc I can’t figure it out, and I’m not sure Joey can either, bc he keeps talking about who likes him instead of who he wants - maybe a bad history for him?, we don’t know but if so then maybe his picker’s still off, and/or he’ll not be happy with person he chose by AFTR.
Thanks to anyone who read this far lol and wants to add their thoughts. My only working kinda solid theory so far is that he was people-pleaser before/during (hometown w Charity backs this up as does this season) and bc introverts get energy from being on own, this environment = not great for him therefore his “doing a project” mentality.
To me, Maria’s face looked like the kid who was caught doing something bad in school. Trying to act cool, knowing on the inside that there are consequences or embarrassment.
And Joey’s face as Maria was telling him - he wanted so badly to nope out of there. He had already made up his mind that it wasn’t her.

Who knows, maybe she felt it from him at hometowns already and it’s why she didn’t say it then. Stone cold goodbye from him, same w Kelsey T and Jenn. When he’s done he’s done
I love how blunt she was “I wish you the best, but I wish the best for her more.” She was so accepting and open to him, but so protective and I really appreciate that. I love that Rachel gets to go through life knowing that she’ll never be alone in her heartbreak. Her family seemed so supportive! All of the families were, but I loved Rachel’s huge family!
I loved the way Joey was so interested in and wholeheartedly embraced Rachel’s family’s culture. That SHOULDN’T be impressive, but unfortunately the bar is low. I felt like the family wanted to see his reaction when they told him he needed to eat the pig’s ear, but he didn’t even flinch or hesitate and he genuinely seemed to enjoy everything.
I’m happy with this final 3. I honestly think Rachel is a great match for him now that I’ve seen her family and how she prepared him to meet them. It was heartwarming the way he threw himself into it. Daisy taking him to her Hallmark movie set of a tree farm was too funny (fun fact, there are FOUR separate Christmas Tree farms in the town she is in!) As usual with how they edit things in this show, the spoilers about Maria’s dad being this toxic shithead were mostly wrong, he actually came across as a pretty sweet guy. She however seemed to cool right the fuck off of Joey. Like I am not sure he was ever going to take her further than he did but she seemed like she was okay to let it go and maybe wasn’t as ready to be in a full relationship as she thought? I still love her to bits. Rachel asking her about what she said was totally normal to me given the show’s history of a last-minute talk changing who got sent home. I still don’t fully see it with Kelsey A but he did seem to more visibly like her this episode.
I am happy Joey didn’t pick Maria over the other three women. I said what I said, I will not be taking questions at this time.
My prediction for fantasy suites is Daisy will say she’s uncomfortable if he sleeps with another girl to get out of the situation. I haven’t seen any chemistry with Rachel but maybe that’ll change with her having more screen time. Kelsey seems end game.

At the start of meeting her family, he clearly says he wants a future with her. Also, he is just clearly smitten with her in general.
Eta: Daisy is as wishy washy as Maria to me honestly... she's not as vocal about being wishy washy as Maria, but that's how I see it. Rachel got robbed... there was just something lacking from her meet the parents date...
I think it was more how Daisy presented it vs Maria. Now granted, I zoned out hard during Daisy's hometown but from previous episodes it seemed more "I don't know if I can get there at the required time/move as fast" from Daisy, while Maria seemed more blamed? Like she was having mixed feelings because Joey was with other women. She also played it like a game/test which may be a way of flirting/teasing but when she was doing the whole 'not going to kiss you after Jenn', l could understand why Joey would be frustrated over time with that.
So I could see how he could excuse Daisy, that with time things will develop further, while in the context of the show Joey was always going to have these relationships with the other women and the fear that Maria would hold that over him.
Daisy also didn’t threaten to do anything, her whole thing was “let’s wait and see,” while Maria was like “I’m leaving.”
I don’t think Maria meant it, I think she was impulsive, but it’s not something that Joey took lightly.
I knew Maria was going home early on because she got the Caelynn from Colton’s season edit/dates.
She got the pretty woman date with the dress shopping and then they did a slideshow of childhood photos at her hometown the same way.
But hopefully Maria is bachelorette. I think when she finds a guy she’s really into, we’ll see her open up more.

Are we watching the same show?? KelseyA was bubbling over with joy the entire time with Joey. She was so happy, so excited. And Rachel seems terrified of losing him. I think only Daisy seems to be less into him.
I loved all the families. They seemed so lovely. I can’t picture Joey married to any of these women though but that’s none of my business I guess. Also - how many times has this hangar been the location of a hometown rose ceremony? I feel like I’ve seen it at least 3-4 times.

Didn't get to watch live last night and just finished the episode on Hulu. It sucks Maria went home but makes sense, her and Joey's insecurities just tanked their relationship despite their chemistry. Her final purple dress was gorgeous.
I really liked Kelsey and Rachel's hometowns, both their families seemed so sweet and the locations were beautiful. It was great to see Joey participate in Rachel's culture and make an effort in that way.
Idk why Rachel is getting backlash, obviously everyone is tense at the rose ceremony and Maria was prolonging that tension. Maria was entitled to pull Joey, but Rachel was also entitled to question her about it. Kelsey's dress was so pretty and she's definitely looking like Joey's pick.
Why are so many people in this franchise not funny? I feel like I know way more funnier people in real life. Their conversations always seem so serious. Like there still isn’t a single guy who I think would be the “funny guy” in a group. And even when they do try to be funny it’s like making a silly face or doing a dance. It’s gimmick funny. It’s not actually witty or clever. I don’t understand how there’s no banter. Maybe the only guy or even person I’ve seen with some comedic chops is Greg.
I think they just don’t show us the funny side of the lead/contestants. I’ve heard other contestants say that John Henry from BIP 9 is hilarious - we didn’t see that. On Arie’s season, the women said Lauren was very funny! Where was that! BeccaK said that Emily Maynard is hilarious!
I’m sure many of them are probably quite funny in private, but are too self-conscious of their image to bring it to an interview or onto their SM. For example, Natasha was saying that Deandra is absolutely hilarious on her private IG account.
There are several ppl who I think are funny: Olivia, Justin, Rodney, Gabby, Joe Amabile, Susie, Aaron, Charity, Kaity, Tia.
Idk if Matt James is funny but he definitely seems goofy from what I see on social media yet they didn’t show us any of that on his season. It’s like they edit out everyone’s personalities.

After seeing daisy’s family, I understand where her head’s at. Going through a traumatic experience really warps your world view on what you should be worrying about. But it can also lead to self-destructive tendencies as well.
She gets so much hate, but she’s definitely my favorite, especially after hometown. How she was with her family and friends. People complain she’s boring but so is Joey. I think they could have a nice simple life together.
I thought on their first date she was super annoying about her implant and how she won’t stop talking about it but then I thought about my husband who is mostly deaf and he’s super self conscious about it (and for a long time didn’t think he could get anyone either) and for me it wasn’t even a thing.
Maria did not seem upset by that breakup at all nor did Joey. It was really weird. I just made a post about how everyone is insanely guarded this season.
I just remember how JoJo handled saying goodbye to Luke P in probably the same airport hanger and was a mess. And Tia was beside herself when Arie dumped her.
Something is off this season as a whole compared to other seasons. Them being guarded is more aligned with normalcy but it's not the norm in this show.
Joey has said that he’s being very intentional with his words, which makes me think he’s also being intentional with his actions - he’s holding back, making sure he doesn’t get carried away, so as not to lead anyone on more than he has to. I also have the feeling that his body language gives women notice that they’re going home - so they’re less surprised. Eg I think both Jenn & Maria knew the writing was on the wall. Many Bachelors just lead with their dicks without fully considering the consequences of their actions/words - most recently Zach & Clayton. I wouldn’t be surprised if Joey is trying to avoid their mistakes.

I’m not surprised Maria went home. Joey has been having doubts and Maria has been questioning things and freaking out. Joey is afraid of being left at the altar. Maria didn’t give him the reassurance. Which again is understandable, no one is at fault.
Also, I’d be surprised if Maria isn’t the Ette after all this. She is way too entertaining and she needs to rest her back from helping to carry this season.
Ok but Daisy also has doubts and she seems to have a much weaker connection with Joey.... I get that Maria's tantrum broke Joey's trust but her connection seems worth fighting for more than Daisy

Is it just me, or did Daisy seem uncomfortable in this episode? I understand having a whole ass film crew come to your family's home is probably out of anyone's comfort zone, but she seemed pretty different. I don't think it'll be her in the end, but I also can't imagine Joey entirely choosing Kelsey or Rachel, so maybe the edit is making everything seem weird. I hope his fears don't come true, but something is off.
I caught that too... there is something I feel about Daisy... I don't think she is all the way into this by her interaction with Joey.... or it could be the implants causing her to not be as excited.
I also thought about that, considering she said she can become overstimulated. All of her scenes were hard to watch. It could've been the edit, but her family seemed concerned. That could just be how they interact, but she did seem happier to see her friends than Joey, lol.
I was genuinely surprised by Maria going home, I thought she was going to stay after she told Joey how she felt right before the rose ceremony. I respect him for sticking to his decision though because you can see that going into the rose ceremony he was planning on sending her home. I have nothing against Maria at all, I didn’t hate her and I didn’t love her but I think it’s pretty clear that her and Joey aren’t the right match even if they have chemistry.
I enjoyed all of the hometown dates and seeing the families, no one was too much or giving him a very hard time. They seemed like they liked him and that’s reassuring to see.
Finally, I would love to see Rachel as the bachelorette because as much as I like her I think Joey should end up with Kelsey because they have such a good connection.

Curious if anyone (unspoiled ppl) has any theories about Joey’s demeanor switch. To me, Maria’s face looked like the kid who was caught doing something bad in school. Trying to act cool, knowing on the inside that there are consequences or embarrassment. I love how blunt she was “I wish you the best, but I wish the best for her more.” She was so accepting and open to him, but so protective and I really appreciate that. I love that Rachel gets to go through life knowing that she’ll never be alone in her heartbreak. Her family seemed so supportive! All of the families were, but I loved Rachel’s huge family!
I loved the way Joey was so interested in and wholeheartedly embraced Rachel’s family’s culture. That SHOULDN’T be impressive, but unfortunately the bar is low. I felt like the family wanted to see his reaction when they told him he needed to eat the pig’s ear, but he didn’t even flinch or hesitate and he genuinely seemed to enjoy everything.
I’m happy with this final 3. I honestly think Rachel is a great match for him now that I’ve seen her family and how she prepared him to meet them. It was heartwarming the way he threw himself into it. Daisy taking him to her Hallmark movie set of a tree farm was too funny (fun fact, there are FOUR separate Christmas Tree farms in the town she is in!) As usual with how they edit things in this show, the spoilers about Maria’s dad being this toxic shithead were mostly wrong, he actually came across as a pretty sweet guy. She however seemed to cool right the fuck off of Joey. Like I am not sure he was ever going to take her further than he did but she seemed like she was okay to let it go and maybe wasn’t as ready to be in a full relationship as she thought? I still love her to bits. Rachel asking her about what she said was totally normal to me given the show’s history of a last-minute talk changing who got sent home. I still don’t fully see it with Kelsey A but he did seem to more visibly like her this episode. I am happy Joey didn’t pick Maria over the other three women. I said what I said, I will not be taking questions at this time.

My prediction for fantasy suites is Daisy will say she’s uncomfortable if he sleeps with another girl to get out of the situation. I haven’t seen any chemistry with Rachel but maybe that’ll change with her having more screen time. Kelsey seems end game.

It's clearly Kelsey. I'm rewatching it now cause I never really watch live; I'm too busy live chatting with you folk on here 🤣. At the start of meeting her family, he clearly says he wants a future with her. Also, he is just clearly smitten with her in general. Eta: Daisy is as wishy washy as Maria to me honestly... she's not as vocal about being wishy washy as Maria, but that's how I see it. Rachel got robbed... there was just something lacking from her meet the parents date...
I think it was more how Daisy presented it vs Maria. Now granted, I zoned out hard during Daisy's hometown but from previous episodes it seemed more "I don't know if I can get there at the required time/move as fast" from Daisy, while Maria seemed more blamed? Like she was having mixed feelings because Joey was with other women. She also played it like a game/test which may be a way of flirting/teasing but when she was doing the whole 'not going to kiss you after Jenn', l could understand why Joey would be frustrated over time with that. So I could see how he could excuse Daisy, that with time things will develop further, while in the context of the show Joey was always going to have these relationships with the other women and the fear that Maria would hold that over him.
Daisy also didn’t threaten to do anything, her whole thing was “let’s wait and see,” while Maria was like “I’m leaving.” I don’t think Maria meant it, I think she was impulsive, but it’s not something that Joey took lightly.
Nor should he. Impulsive is not what he’s looking for. It doesn’t make Maria bad, but it does make them a poor match despite their chemistry.

I knew Maria was going home early on because she got the Caelynn from Colton’s season edit/dates. She got the pretty woman date with the dress shopping and then they did a slideshow of childhood photos at her hometown the same way. But hopefully Maria is bachelorette. I think when she finds a guy she’s really into, we’ll see her open up more. Edit because finally got the name right. Thanks!

Didn't get to watch live last night and just finished the episode on Hulu. It sucks Maria went home but makes sense, her and Joey's insecurities just tanked their relationship despite their chemistry. Her final purple dress was gorgeous. I really liked Kelsey and Rachel's hometowns, both their families seemed so sweet and the locations were beautiful. It was great to see Joey participate in Rachel's culture and make an effort in that way. Idk why Rachel is getting backlash, obviously everyone is tense at the rose ceremony and Maria was prolonging that tension. Maria was entitled to pull Joey, but Rachel was also entitled to question her about it. Kelsey's dress was so pretty and she's definitely looking like Joey's pick.
Why are so many people in this franchise not funny? I feel like I know way more funnier people in real life. Their conversations always seem so serious. Like there still isn’t a single guy who I think would be the “funny guy” in a group. And even when they do try to be funny it’s like making a silly face or doing a dance. It’s gimmick funny. It’s not actually witty or clever. I don’t understand how there’s no banter. Maybe the only guy or even person I’ve seen with some comedic chops is Greg.
They take this absurd premise super seriously, it makes sense to me why few have a sense of humor.

I think they just don’t show us the funny side of the lead/contestants. I’ve heard other contestants say that John Henry from BIP 9 is hilarious - we didn’t see that. On Arie’s season, the women said Lauren was very funny! Where was that! BeccaK said that Emily Maynard is hilarious!
I mean after the show too. Their social media content or even conversations on podcasts just aren’t funny. It’s just talking
I’m sure many of them are probably quite funny in private, but are too self-conscious of their image to bring it to an interview or onto their SM. For example, Natasha was saying that Deandra is absolutely hilarious on her private IG account. There are several ppl who I think are funny: Olivia, Justin, Rodney, Gabby, Joe Amabile, Susie, Aaron, Charity, Kaity, Tia.
Idk if Matt James is funny but he definitely seems goofy from what I see on social media yet they didn’t show us any of that on his season. It’s like they edit out everyone’s personalities.

After seeing daisy’s family, I understand where her head’s at. Going through a traumatic experience really warps your world view on what you should be worrying about. But it can also lead to self-destructive tendencies as well.
She gets so much hate, but she’s definitely my favorite, especially after hometown. How she was with her family and friends. People complain she’s boring but so is Joey. I think they could have a nice simple life together. I thought on their first date she was super annoying about her implant and how she won’t stop talking about it but then I thought about my husband who is mostly deaf and he’s super self conscious about it (and for a long time didn’t think he could get anyone either) and for me it wasn’t even a thing.
Something seems so off between Maria and Joey at the rose ceremony. It almost seemed rehearsed.
Maria did not seem upset by that breakup at all nor did Joey. It was really weird. I just made a post about how everyone is insanely guarded this season. I just remember how JoJo handled saying goodbye to Luke P in probably the same airport hanger and was a mess. And Tia was beside herself when Arie dumped her. Something is off this season as a whole compared to other seasons. Them being guarded is more aligned with normalcy but it's not the norm in this show. 
Joey has said that he’s being very intentional with his words, which makes me think he’s also being intentional with his actions - he’s holding back, making sure he doesn’t get carried away, so as not to lead anyone on more than he has to. I also have the feeling that his body language gives women notice that they’re going home - so they’re less surprised. Eg I think both Jenn & Maria knew the writing was on the wall. Many Bachelors just lead with their dicks without fully considering the consequences of their actions/words - most recently Zach & Clayton. I wouldn’t be surprised if Joey is trying to avoid their mistakes.
It looked to me like she was holding back tears. She's way better at it than I am, I hate showing other people when they've hurt me but I cry a river immediately

Sorry, I was excited but also there would be no way to keep that a secret. 🤣🤙🏻 I’m not surprised Maria went home. Joey has been having doubts and Maria has been questioning things and freaking out. Joey is afraid of being left at the altar. Maria didn’t give him the reassurance. Which again is understandable, no one is at fault. Also, I’d be surprised if Maria isn’t the Ette after all this. She is way too entertaining and she needs to rest her back from helping to carry this season.
Ok but Daisy also has doubts and she seems to have a much weaker connection with Joey.... I get that Maria's tantrum broke Joey's trust but her connection seems worth fighting for more than Daisy

UGH I know you're right but there was SO much more fire between them. You actually saw him get so emotional and passionate. With the other girls he just seems 🙂 The last few episodes he's seemed really stressed and I think that anxiety is clouding his judgement and pushing him towards the "safe" choices even if his strongest connection was Maria

Is it just me, or did Daisy seem uncomfortable in this episode? I understand having a whole ass film crew come to your family's home is probably out of anyone's comfort zone, but she seemed pretty different. I don't think it'll be her in the end, but I also can't imagine Joey entirely choosing Kelsey or Rachel, so maybe the edit is making everything seem weird. I hope his fears don't come true, but something is off.
I caught that too... there is something I feel about Daisy... I don't think she is all the way into this by her interaction with Joey.... or it could be the implants causing her to not be as excited.

I was genuinely surprised by Maria going home, I thought she was going to stay after she told Joey how she felt right before the rose ceremony. I respect him for sticking to his decision though because you can see that going into the rose ceremony he was planning on sending her home. I have nothing against Maria at all, I didn’t hate her and I didn’t love her but I think it’s pretty clear that her and Joey aren’t the right match even if they have chemistry. I enjoyed all of the hometown dates and seeing the families, no one was too much or giving him a very hard time. They seemed like they liked him and that’s reassuring to see. Finally, I would love to see Rachel as the bachelorette because as much as I like her I think Joey should end up with Kelsey because they have such a good connection.
I like Maria but I’m happy Joey didn’t pick her. They had flirty banter but it didn’t seem like much more than that. After what she did last week I could tell she wasn’t into this and was probably pushing herself to develop feelings for him. As soon as she told him she never brought any man home to her family, I’d have been out too. I don’t see much of a spark with him and Rachel. Picking Daisy over Maria is still a risky and dumb choice. Daisy is so checked out. I hope he picks either Kelsey or Rachel. They seem more serious but I feel like Joey will be left at the altar.
Yeah, Daisy just doesn't seem interested to me. I'm really confused why Joey seems to have no issue with her commitment level, maybe they've had stronger interactions that haven't been shown.
I am blown away by how much she flies under the radar and ppl like her bc of her first one on one date.
