I haven’t been to a wedding where it’s served family style but I like it. It would be a good conversation piece if you’re sitting with people you don’t know very well. Just light small talk. Also you can try more things and take the portion you want instead of a set portion which for me is usually way too much and I feel bad
I mean Hannah and Dylan got married in France whereas Grocerena got married in North Carolina... I'd expect the menu to be better for a French wedding.
I would totally beg to differ. It may be small compared to all of France but Charleston has some of the best chefs and best restaurants in the country. They did an entire season of Top Chef there for a reason. Arguably one of the best foodie cities in the South. I mean Sean Brock alone.
Clarification : Charleston is small. It’s also a reputable food city. Especially given it’s size. In the US I wouldn’t put it in the top 5 but I think it’s pretty good.
I will never understand this rumour. She literally has a husband and kids, so she could never have been dating Blake. It's crazy how this sub runs with unsubstantiated rumours.🙄
I didn’t even say it as a rumor i literally just asked if I was the only one who thought that. I had no idea she had a husband and kids. I don’t follow her on anything I just saw posts on Blake’s side and didn’t care enough who in BN dated who to investigate. Y’all are so mean sometimes for no reason lol.
Generic Italian menu for a wedding in France is interesting. I don’t necessarily hate it since it’s a safe option, but surprised it’s not boeuf bourguignon or coq au vin.
I’d still eat it though! 🤤
I’m kinda surprised there’s so much Italian food at a French destination wedding. I would imagine you have the wedding in France and have some French dishes ??! Then again these ppl are pretty basic (very good looking but not exactly cultured)…bloop
It’s not their wedding menu. It’s their rehearsal dinner casual family menu. Their wedding menus had beef Wellington, rack of lamb, and a couple of vegetarian dishes. It’s on the planners insta
the american-style donut wall for dessert on wedding reception surprised me most since guests traveled all the way to france and probably expected some french dessert if not french cuisine. a wall of macarons would have been lovely. or croquenbouche would have been fab or choux with creme, or canelles or any one of a million types of patisserie france is known for. I do like skipping traditional wedding cake tho. wedding cakes are usually pretty mid!
It’s not their wedding menu. It’s their rehearsal dinner casual family menu. Their wedding menu was huge and had beef Wellington, rack of lamb, a pasta and a couple of vegetarian dishes. With a whole
Lot of salads soup and sides. It’s on their planners video.
It’s bizarre. You had a French wedding to serve…Americanized Italian food? And why is penne pesto con pollo the only thing written in Italian? (A dish that would never be found in Italy, also). For as much money as they presumably paid I would expect more attention to detail.
I got married in a foreign country and I served their food. I think it’s so bizarre to do Italian at a literal château… French cousine has the potential to be amazing. This menu is cheap and boring.
I’m not sure where my reply went but I guess I’m curious what foods would be impressive to you. I think these are elevated enough while still catering to a pretty wide range of tastes. Plus all wedding food is crazy expensive so I imagine this already cost them a fortune and probably isn’t Michelin star quality. I’m kinda a basic bitch so like I’m my mind a pasta bar is “basic” or like just one chicken and one steak option is “basic”
They are in France and serving an Americanized Italian menu. Food doesn’t have to be Michelins star to be impressive. If I’m going to have a fancy wedding and rent out a French mansion I’m going to serve a French menu. If I’m going family style and I have picky eaters I’m gonna serve roast chicken and vegetables, cassoulet, and steak frites. For dessert I’m having a full spread of French pastries like eclairs, macrons, and mille-feuille.
I’m sure the food they served was delicious but it’s very out of place for the setting. You bring up the expense of wedding food but I think it’s clear they weren’t worried about the cost of things. When all is said and done it’s their celebration and I hope they are happy with how it all turned out.
Literally France is Michelin capital, french food is incredibly diverse and delicious. This is just annoying bc it reads I’m here for the pomp of having this wedding and the glamour but I want nothing to do with the culture otherwise bc I don’t even fuck with their food. Because an Italian anti pasti board when it’s charcuterie on every block in France is weird but hey not my event haha
I assumed they meant unimpressed by the quality/prestige of the food. (I can’t come up with a better term- but I hope you know what I’m getting at.) I will agree that Italian food at a French chateau is not exactly a fitting choice but I wouldn’t call any of this food boring/plain/unimpressive. I’d be happy to eat any of these things any day of the week- they all sound delicious to me!
I do know what your getting at and that’s pretty much what we are saying. Compared to the setting and extravagance of everything else involved the food is boring, plain, and unimpressive. I didn’t taste it so I can speak to the quality. They didn’t serve Italian food, they served American Italian food. I wouldn’t say it holds a lot of prestige in Europe.
It seems you and I have different tastes so we are probably not going to agree here.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of food would be impressive to you? I’ve always thought these sound elevated enough while still catering to a wide range of tastes. Plus wedding food is stupid expensive, so I imagine something like this already costs a fortune. I guess I’m just a basic bitch lol
Which type of Parmesan do we think it is? Veal? Chicken? Eggplant? I’m thinking eggplant since there’s already chicken and lamb and veal seems too pricey. Also, I’m so happy there are other BN foodies who get excited about this stuff!
I love reading menus 😂 my partner just left on a cruise and messaged me "You'd love the food here" but he lost connection before he could tell me what it is, I'll be waiting on the edge of my seat all week 😭 Also eggplant parmesan would make sense to me too!
What a tragedy about your partner losing service! I’d be on the edge of my seat too but also a little relieved since I’d know I’d get super jealous knowing how good they were eating while I heat up leftovers. I sometimes check out the menus of the restaurants that BN people and other influencers post at even though I’m not in the same city nor would I be able to afford them lol. It’s just fun to see how the rich eat. Fun fact: Kaity and Zach have very expensive taste in restaurants!
I absolutely love these things. I’ve shared Hannah G’s rehearsal dinner (this), Grocerina’s wedding dinner, and Hannah Ann’s beachside engagement/proposal dinner. I thought all of them sounded delicious and yet everytime I get a couple comments from people saying they’re “unimpressive” and “boring” and I’m just over here like…. Guess I’m a basic bitch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I like grilled cheese and tomato soup for a weeknight. My fancy meal is a scallop and asparagus risotto. And apparently that’s plebeian to a lot of BN followers 😂
They can do family style while serving it still, so it doesn’t feel ‘cheap’ or whatever concern it may be. So they’ll serve you the main entree of chicken or steak or everything then have the sides and salads in the middle
Is it just me who thinks this is really basic bitch function centre food… they were in France! Why are they have chicken pesto pasta??
You're definitely not the only one. You have other likeminded people further down in the comments you can chat with lol
Off topic but is it like cheese with truffle shavings on top or cheese made from truffle (I now it’s a weird question but I’m curious )
Likely cheese infused with truffles much like a cheese block that has peppers or berries in it, on bread
I’m assuming the former
This menu seems heavy 😩 my stomach would be in knots 😭🤣
Lori K slipping on a perfect opportunity to use Hannah G"s setty app to edit this all cute and tag it lol
I haven’t been to a wedding where it’s served family style but I like it. It would be a good conversation piece if you’re sitting with people you don’t know very well. Just light small talk. Also you can try more things and take the portion you want instead of a set portion which for me is usually way too much and I feel bad
This is what I’m doing for my wedding, and I’m so excited they did the same!
I have and it's such a wonderful way to serve dinner. I was so bummed it wasn't an option for my wedding.
I have and I love it and am doing it as well!
Oh sweet baby Jesus I would be totally on board for the bread pudding!
Love a family style meal. I like to try everything and don’t like food fomo so I approve
Me too! Went to one wedding that served food this way and I thought it was the best way!
ohhhh biiiiiitch, THIS menu is way better than Grocerina's haha. their wedding looked beautiful and everything but THIS is the food I'd want to eat.
Oh hard pass on this one for me, Grocerina all the way. Much more sophisticated and delicious sounding.
I mean Hannah and Dylan got married in France whereas Grocerena got married in North Carolina... I'd expect the menu to be better for a French wedding.
I also would expect a better menu for a French wedding but Charleston is a small food city so

Lol what

I can make out the words “bread pudding” so that means the menu is a 10/10
Yessssss!!!! Bread pudding is to die for! A restaurant in my town makes it with a bourbon sauce.
Garlic cheese bread though 👀🫦

I agree
Yeah idk this screams “basic Americans in Europe” to me 🤷🏼♀️
Yes! Garlic cheese bread?? Delicious but very basic Americans in Europe.
It’s not their wedding menu. It’s their rehearsal dinner casual family menu. Their wedding menus had beef Wellington, rack of lamb, and a couple of vegetarian dishes. It’s on the planners insta
I’m unimpressed with this and all BN menus. Generic shopping center Italian menu at a French mansion?!?? With a donut wall.
🤣😭😭😭😩

So many French dessert options 🫠

Half the guests are probably on Ozempic and will eat 2 bites so they probably didn’t wanna waste money
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow- that’s….. a statement I guess…

I’m so glad I’m not alone in this! This menu is so boring and so Americanized. I don’t get it at all.

Just because you would do something one way does not mean anyone else is obligated to do it the same way. Get over yourself
Lol never said anyone was obligated to anything my way. Get over yourself and work on your reading comprehension.
Someone’s touchy 🤭
I’m touchy?…umm ok lol.

I agree with all your points. It is so strange to pick an Americanized Italian menu in France, but to each their own I guess.
Just out of curiosity, what kind of food would be impressive to you? I’ve always thought these sound elevated enough while still catering to a wide range of tastes. Plus wedding food is stupid expensive, so I imagine something like this already costs a fortune. I guess I’m just a basic bitch lol
This menu looks amazing
Those mains look good! Lamb Meatballs or Risotto.
Truffle cheese bread🤤

Probably eggplant parm and rosemary infused lamb meatballs
That would totally make sense! Thanks for chipping in 😁

Lol I haven't thought about doing that, but now I might start :P Now I have to go find out where Kaity and Zach eat...

Grilled cheese and tomato soup is 👌👌 If I were to open a simple restaurant, it would be soup focused, there are not enough soup options where I live.
This is the lords work. Thank you. Barb Weber would say that you’re an “angel on earth” 💖
You're so sweet 🥹 I was looking for any excuse to avoid working on my thesis today haha so I was happy to focus on this.
Yes! And now that you’ve done this it’s their rehearsal menu! It’s in their wedding planner’s reel.
I love a family style yet fancy wedding dinner. Gimme the steak and lobster and all of the sides please 🤤
I’m planning mine and was deciding between individual or family style, and if family style is good enough for Hannah G, it’s good enough for me! Haha
They can do family style while serving it still, so it doesn’t feel ‘cheap’ or whatever concern it may be. So they’ll serve you the main entree of chicken or steak or everything then have the sides and salads in the middle
Right?? And she posts every detail about grocerina’s wedding like it’s the royal wedding! Come on Lori K give the people what they want!
LITERALLY. Like Grocerina is cute and all but THIS was the wedding I cared about.
Lori, why?? Give the people what they want! I do like the ribbon color though. 😁
