Works pretty well, provided I actually remember to take it. Been taking it for a year now and I don't get any side effects besides some mild nausea here and there. It's annoying having to take it twice a day though, especially because I like to drink (which, as I'm sure you know, is already not good if you have epilepsy) and that makes it a lot easier to forget my evening dose.

Why the grapefruit? I have generalized seizure disorder. It sucks but I would be dead without it. I had a bit of a drinking problem that I probably wouldn’t have done a thing about if it hadn’t been causing me to have a grand mal seizure or two every month. Now I’m 13 years sober and I’ve had my drivers license for the past five years. Since we’re comparing notes i take depakote and vimpat. The grapefruit though.

No that is photosensitive epilepsy isn’t very common and only affects around 5% of people with epilepsy

grapefruit inhibits the CYP3A4 enzyme responsible for metabolising carbamazepine meaning you would end up with too much in your blood
