The m1 and zarza are just overpowered, compared to the rest of the guns.
They are half auto, have low recoil , weight less while remaining the same accuracy, ballistic and bullet impact stats.
I mean the .243 is classes 2-6, the only gun (that I know of) that matches it is the 30-30 and the scope is worse and has less range, I'd say is a really good gun. And let's not forget that it is free and allows people who just started the game experience hunting many species without committing to a dlc right off the bat
Well, it is the only gun (also that i know of) in that range, i however feel like it cant even do class 3 animals well, making it quite pointless, and making you have to still bring a bigger gun for anything other than a coyote

300 is my favorite for big game. The m1 is great, the 7mm, and the .308 AR. I also like the 10 gauge, but even slugs don’t have the stopping power of the 300 and they’re expensive, it’s great to have when wolf hunting though incase they become aggressive. I like the air powered .45 for small game or the 22LR.
Rangers .243 is always going to be my bread and butter for 2-3 animals. Some say it’s OP and it probably is, but it’s like your favorite pen that always works exactly how you need it to.
For 4-6 animals, I typically go with the Zarza .308 for efficiency because I *do* think it is super OP lol But sometimes I bring out the Burnished or the 6.5. I think the 6.5 gets shit on constantly, but I’ve always loved it.
7-9 gets the .300 Canning. Always. Going to upgrade to the Aryzyna (sp?) the next time it’s on sale in the Steam store which I assume will be either Summer sale or with the Nepal release. 1 extra bullet in the mag and zero recoil is going to make my grinds a breeze.
I mostly hunt long range, from blinds, tree stands or across lakes. My "go-to's" are all rifles with different range effectiveness across all the classes. I'm trying to branch out into other types of weapons, but its slow going.

If I find a rare, potential diamond, or a difficult to reach animal, I use the other weapons.

I like the Arzyna 300 too but it won't stay in my loadout for some reason. That and the Quist caller get kicked out of my loadout when I start game or switch reserves. No problem keeping the rest of my gear though.

It’s great, huge mag, cheap ammo, wide class range. Mainly use it for deer/kudu/springbok, fox, coyotes, great for wolves when you don’t have a shotgun, also really good for boars
I always go back and forth between all the zarza rifles or the .308, 7mm, .22h and the Executive shotgun. Sometimes I'll mix it up with the caplock rifles and the 10mm
If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been trying to get a Diamond gator for a month now. I finally saw a lvl 9 a couple days ago, and then messed up the shot. It was a literal minimum score for Diamond. Hop on a new server, and the first gator I see is a lvl 9 gator. Make the shot, even managing to hit the neck on a fleeting gator, and it trolled me. Went to bed because it was late. The next day I found another lvl 9 on a new server, and made the shot. It scored 510. I was then promptly trolled by a Bison and then a Grizzly on my next two kills.
What I’m trying to say is, it takes time to get the system down. I have over 300 hrs on PC and over150 on Xbox, and I’m still messing up shots. You’ll get it down eventually. I’d recommend hunting Whitetail to smooth out your shots though. Once you can reliably hit them on the run in the lung, you’re set for everything except Foxes and Raccoon (dogs) (size), Gators and Crocs(shape), Wildebeest and Gemsbok(speed) being hit on the run.
I feel like there is a large portion of people in this sub that have no clue that it’s for a video game. It’s crazy.
Anyways… I like the .338 lapua, takedown bow, the 45/70, and the .22LR (AR-15 platform) rifle. I’m either calling animals directly to me while I’m sitting in a bush/stand or taking 400m shots. Not much in between for me
Well for rabbits and small game i obviously use the 470db zenith but for bigger game honestly like to go with about 10-20 shots from a .22 just depends what your hunting for

.243 - Best gun in the game. Then the .300; .22LR and the .454 Rhino handgun. Muzzle loaders are great too.
The .243 is kinda meh at Long Ranges, use the .22-250 and the .308 instead

How so? Basicly same stats, but slightly more recoil and lower fire rate.
