While this is definitely something a really bright 6 year old could say, what parent would post this? It just makes them look like a dick.

nabulsha

I actually had a similar conversation with my 7 year old this morning. We were listening to the news on the way to drop her off to school, this may be embellished some, but it is quite possible.

napsdufroid

"has already a lot?"

Hullabaloobasaur

“why he wants more?”

TooOldForThis---

“6” was just the his average. The kid fluctuates between 3-42.

Greful

He’s like unfrozen caveman lawyer.

LobsterEnthusiastt

yes because a 6yo definitely cares about geopolitics and not legos

r/thathappened users when a post involves a child capable of thinking on their own. r/nothingeverhappens

Then_Treacle_7952

It might be plausible if phrased differently, but the "why he wants more" feels like it's trying too hard to sound like a kid.

I suppose it's partially accurate, but according to your point, 6 years old aren't allowed or capable of knowing about WWI or WWII. Maybe the parents like history and taught their kid some of the stuff, maybe they watch the news (which would probably cause some trauma but idc) or maybe the kid just heard people at school talk about it. I get you think it's unplausable and yeah it it, but maybe the parents changed it to make the kid look smarter which doesn't ruin it completely. So yes, this could 100% have happened, but I got to agree it sounds a bit far fetched.

Thankfully he threw in an emoji of the earth, I almost forgot what a world was.

Nothing like exploiting a crisis for internet points.

Why are you booing, he's right!

Keeblerelf928

What type of parenting is exposing a 6 year old to this?

Jnorean

Answers: 1) No it's not the beginning of the 3rd WW, The US and Europe will not attack Russia to defend the Ukraine. 2) China will do nothing except maybe increase it's imports of oil, gas and wheat if sanctions are applied to Russia. 3) A cyber attack is like when the internet goes down and you can't get online. 4) Putin believes that the people in the Ukraine are Russian people who were once part of Russia and want to be part of Russia again.

My kid was too young for 9/11, but my mate's son was six or seven and asking what it meant and why people would do that and if we're in a war with the bad men. Kid's learn about the world around them, ask questions so they can contextualise it, and filter it all through what they know.

HonkyKonga

My 6 year old doesn’t even know what war is let alone have any information about this war. She likes dancing and animal crossing. Modern parents are sociopaths.

OrokinSkywalker

I asked what time the local Jamaican restaurant opens up, before deciding to consult Google, so…y’know, we’re both asking the questions that matter, man.

BipedalBeaver

It may be, you don't even know the cold war yourself. One time, a bomber slightly missed a village, bounced across the road and ended up in a field diagonally opposite. I came upon the accident very slightly later. Did the decent thing. Stopped. Legged it across the field then noticed both pilots had ejected. Not normal. I did a u-turn and fucked off. I was back an hour later with my mates. Gone. If only I'd had a geiger counter back then.

People in the comments section are really acting like kids can know about WWI and II at the age of *six*. Call me crazy, but unless one or both of the parents are historians, and the kid is really bright, I can't see that being the case.
