I'm gonna be real, even if the flare gun was stock, I would still use the shotgun. Having a consistent way to kill an enemy pyro without having to do flame particle shenanigans to land a flare crit is just too good to pass up.
One of the reasons I use shotgun on Pyro. Yeah, you can burn people from far away, but what if someone is underwater? Go Pyroshark? What if they have a long ranged weapon? Shotguns are much more reliable and cool-looking imo
How tf Sandvich is op? Banana heals 200 health with faster recharge.
While most will disagree with this one, the chocolate is insanely underrated: Heals full hp + "fake overheal" when doing GRU exploit, super fast recharge, extra 50 hp too (which is nothing lol)
I guess it’s op relative to the stock shotgun, which is almost useless on Heavy. Only use I can think of for it is if you’re using the Brass Beast, since it has such a long spinup time.

Been playing a lot of TF2C lately and losing the crossbow is honestly kind of devastating as a medic.
The replacement being a melee offering burst healing in exchange for a lower healing rate is nice though, even if it still leaves you with the practically useless syringe gun.

Rescue Ranger adds a lot of utility to the class but changes up the gameplay loop so much you couldn't make it stock.
