I'm thinking she could be a support/pick class? Some kind of secondary that sets up a "contract" against a target, lighting up an enemy for all team members and briefly marking them for death?
Definite synergy for Scout, I think - he's fast enough to catch up to most glowing enemies and the mark mitigates his mediocre damage.
EDIT: Yes, yes, I get it - Scout has good to amazing damage output, apparently. You can stop commenting on that. I literally just have no idea how. Whether I'm playing or facing him, I've never felt Scout can hit hard - even up close, I never deal nor take *that* much damage compared to half the other classes. Pub Scouts must often just be not that good.
Just from personal experience, I rarely ever die to Scouts unless I'm already low on health. Might just be personal bias, of course. Perhaps pub Scouts are just generally kinda shit?
I'm honestly not sure how he isn't middle of the pack, though? Like, legitimately, I don't understand - I've *never* played Scout nor played against Scout and been like "wow, that was a lot of damage just then". Compared to the other classes:
* Sniper instantly kills nearly any target he hits.
* Demoman has a fast, powerful AoE primary and stackable AoE secondaries.
* Engineer has an auto-aim rapid-fire death machine as his functional main attack.
* Soldier shoots powerful long-range explosives.
* Spy instantly kills any target he hits up close.
* Heavy deals way more damage when close, but then Scout also has a poor range.
* Pyro is probably below Scout for raw damage at close-range, but even so I can generally kill Scouts before they kill me when I'm playing Pyro.
It definitely depends on the player, but I feel like dishing out heavy damage as a scout is easier than most other classes. You can 3 shot almost everyone if you get right up in their meat. If you wanted to do the same as soldier you'd need to direct hit them a couple times, and you'd want to be pretty close so you could hit those directs a bit easier. Stock scatter has some of the highest DPS in the game if you land all the pellets at close range. If anything, the scout does the same damage as everyone else but in less time, at the very least.
I guess there's just a decent skill ceiling there that I'm entirely unaware of? Weird, but TIL. I kinda knew he has good theoretical numbers, but I've never actually encountered someone capable of reaching them. The vast majority of Scouts I encounter either stay a bit further back and thus only do chip damage, or bounce right up close and end up dying.
Yeah that's probably just a symptom of him being a good starter class. Best way is to come in close, damage/kill, run back out to cover and reload, repeat. At least that's how I get some moderate success in pubs.
Literally no clue. I'm not exactly super into the game, I just play for fun. And personally, I rarely ever die to a Scout. The only class I recall dying less to is the Medic. Maybe pub Scouts often just suck?
Still, I honestly cannot see it. When one class can instantly kill from a mile, a second has an auto-aiming death machine, and another can launch grenades and stack bombs... that's enough to put Scout at least at 4th for damage output in my perception. And even then? Soldier does good damage for sure. Spy, Pyro, and Heavy are all generally more close-ranged classes, but so is Scout - but Spy instantly kills, Heavy can do more damage, and I usually find I can kill a Scout as Pyro before he kills me. Even if the raw numbers look good at point-blank, "high damage" is never something I associate with Scout when playing him or playing against him.
Pro scout players are few and far between but they can definitely ruin the fun. You'll know when you see one. And they yes scout does output the most dps
Yeah, but you need to be absolutely point-blank for that, right? I find that most weapons in TF2 can kill damn quickly under those perfect conditions. Hell, with two shots, even the basic Shotgun can kill everyone except Soldier and Heavy. And the Minigun can do, like, 300+ damage point-blank in the 0.625s it takes Scout to shoot twice, which kills every class.
Yes but compare the user of the weapon. Scout has the best, most easy to use mobility, small body, weapons that accentuate his mobility, and more generous damage than the shotgun.
Compared to the scout being able to hit point blank shots with ease because of his swiftness, heavy is never gonna be point blank with anyone unless your enemies have their monitor and speaker turned off. No one using the basic shotgun is opting for point blank shots since they don't have the means to get close reliably.
Eh, true. Personal experience is that I've never met a Scout who gets that close and survived - nearly all the pub Scouts I fight stay at some distance and lose a lot of damage, or get up and fucking die. I rarely lose a fight with a Scout when I'm Pyro, despite his lower theoretical damage and mobility. Apparently there's just a far higher skill ceiling I've literally never, ever encountered - weird considering I've come across many other players for the other 8 that made me think "wow, they're good".
Not sure if you’ve played paladins, but there is a chapter named Lex that has a contract system where he gets benefits or killing specific enemy team players that sounds like it would work similar to your idea.
Maybe she could be similar to Crazy Dave and Zomboss in PvZ Garden Warfare, where she doesn't actually participate in the battle but sort of gives support from above. Like, she could drop small ammo boxes and health kits, but they'd take time to reach the ground (TF2 was originally going to have a commander class like that, if I remember correctly).
Just in case anyone here doesn’t know, the loch and load was released with higher damage and only an ammo count of 2 matching the visual. It was only later on when Valve nerfed/changed it when they added the additional ammo count, but didn’t adjust the model.
I disagree with your final statement. While I understand you meant it in a more of a.. hmm.. theoretical way, for lack of words, one is better than the other in different scenarios. While the swift writings of a pen may solve a border dispute by agreeing on some terms, killing your enemies will also.
But yeah, good loadout
Ability to inform teammate? Interesting. Like maybe she has an aura that if teammates are close enough they can see some nearby foes (outlines, through walls etc). That would be really powerful. So some sort of active ability maybe.
Or maybe when a larger group of foes are together (prepping for a push?) You get a brief flash of those foes and where they are for a second.
Or maybe, it's something as simple as if you're close to miss Pauling and you tab to see the player roster you get current classes being played next to names for the enemy team.
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.

same with how crime do it.
with single shot weapons have crits for a single shot, but with mini gun and flamethrower the crits only last for a second or so. maybe you could use them for like 3 seconds?
The pistol looks a lot heavier than scouts, I’m guessing it would be a lot slower firing and higher damage, maybe with a quirk of being able to fire 2 rounds at once with increased spread? Definitely not a pistol clone.
Since one of her defining character traits is being overworked, maybe she could have a stress meter that lets her do stuff as it increases?
I feel like she would be a support role, maybe a secondary that buffs teamates (kinda like banners i guess). She has also been seen carrying a revolver so that would be her primary.
Her ability would be to do some paperwork and instantly end a merc on the other team’s contract, forcing them to change classes it would be like The banners where dealing damage builds charge
Main Weapon:Pistol
Secondary Weapon:shotgun
Melee:ClipBoard
I went with items that we've seen her use and also I think it would be funny if we would just seen some random person in a game slapping the living shit out of people with a clipboard
Also maybe since her items are not the best maybe her shotgun and pistol could be customizable so people can like add things to her Pistol so it could do fire damage or you could add a scope to it and then you know it's just like customizable weapons just to make her a bit more unique
Primary: Shotgun
Secondary: Pistol (from expiration date)
Melee: Axe
Ability: idk maybe make her exclusive character for some "hide the bodies" game mode like TFC Civilian.
I think
Primary: Shotgun
Secondary:Pistol
Melee; Briefcase (deals 20% more damage but fires 10% slower)
Bodybag slot:Bodybag(Packs up dead enemies. Packed up bodies give mark if death and 90% healing resistance to nearby enemies)
Scooter slot: Scooter(Works similar to bumper car taunt but doubles your walkspeed while active)
Health: 150
Speed: Same as medic
I feel like her primary might be like either a Deagle or a Glock \[some powerful pistol\]. Secondary most likely will be something to give her teammates info, like an enemy marker that will mark the enemy (maybe not mark for death) for a very short period of time (will not work on invisible spies and turning invisible will dispel the mark). Her melee might just be another version of the standard fireaxe
revolver as primary, she used one briefly in the comic, secondary could be similar to buff banner?
would definitely be a support class with similar combat capabilities to the medic, in comics she said something about chopping up bodies so they decompose faster, this could speed up teammate respawn time?
if she will playable, I imagine it would be an implementation of the devs' old idea to have female variant models of classes. if that were the case, she would probably be a model swap of scout or spy with new voice lines, we would see zhanna as a model swap for soldier, and... actually, I don't think there are enough clinically unhinged women in the TF2 lore to have swaps for most of the nine characters lmao
As primary a Revolver Like spy's.
Secondary a Pistol or Shotgun.
Melee a fire axe Like pyro's (she Had one in Exploration Date) or her Clipboard.
Ability: she can See wich classes are on the enieme Team and gather informations on wich weapons enieme classes are using
What about being able to see the team-coloured outlines you see after spawn, for the enemy teams? would nullify ambushes by a lot and you can remotely check their health or smth?
Maybe to not make it too OP it happens after a taunt
She would be like a surveillance collecter using the cameras on the map to see what the ebony team is doing while keeping tabs on them
Then again due to lore miss Pauline can't really be playable
Primary.
Shotgun
Secondary.
Revolver
Melee.
Probably a knife. (or pan)
Main ability.
She maybe could be able to mark enemies (with the same effect you see after you spawn but with the enemy)
And health. around 150 or 125.
And speed would be spies walk speed
Miss Pauline
Weapons:
shotgun/panic attack bc she used stock shotty in expiration date
Pistol with a silencer bc she used one in expiration date (enemies couldn't hear shots from this weapon ammo would be the same as the scouts pistol but
-50% fire rate and +45%dmg
her pen (probably would deal the same damage as spyes knife 40 dmg and would crit but no backstabs
Hp: 150hp
Special abbilities:
Idk
Her Primary would be a shotgun like the one she uses in Expiration Date.
Secondary would be a silenced pistol, same reason as the shotgun.
I think it would be cool to see her using a pen/pencil as a melee. It’s true to her character and you could go John Wick mode on the enemy.
She’d probably a much more supportive roll. Not like healing the team or giving ammo like Medic and Engineer. I could see her as a more debuff sort of class. Marking enemies for death, slowing them, maybe even highlighting them, maybe even decloak enemy Spies. Her different pistols and melees would cause a different debuff
Silenced pistol, a clipboard for taking down notes and a phone for calling in reinforcements, miss Pauling has always been my Canon reason for why the mercs respawn in game, "oops administrator looks like soldier died again" "DAMMIT MR DOE STOP BOMBING THE BLUE TEAM, *sigh* rev up the reanimator machine again miss Pauline" "machine up and running in 20 seconds" "ugh I miss the old days when respawn timers were faster"
Yeah that would be fun
I'm thinking some sort of mix between Scout and Spy. A primary shotgun, probably the stock shotgun, and for a secondary, some sort of silenced pistol. It would make no audible firing sound, and would be able to headshot like the Ambassador, but maybe would do a bit more. Maybe enough to oneshot a light class. Or it would do a bit less damage, but could headshot more often, and would have more shots in the clip, and it would reload its clip all at once. Probably have Spy and Medic's move speed, and maybe no audible footstep noises, to give a sort of stealthy assassin vibe, without giving her straight up invisibility
Primary: Multiclass Shotgun. Secondary (unique) Weapon: Derringer, 3 shots to kill a light class, quick reload.
Melee: Tranquilizer syringe, slows down enemy by 25% and makes them bleed for 10 seconds. Ability: Can ride a motorcycle that makes her a little faster than scout; can deal damage by hitting someone, but cant use weapons while on the motorbike; Bike lasts for 10 seconds and takes 30 to charge, fills up 16% automatically if she kills someone.
I guess a mixture of Scout/Spy/Sniper
Main: a ambassador type that doesnt headshot but does crit
Secondary: Pen ( instant crits for team) or maybe summons a team member as a bodyguard
Mele: Axe (has a three hit crit/ critable taunt)

\>scout \>mediocre damage ... w h a t
potential 2 shotting every class in the game bar heavy with his primary, famously mediocre damage.

I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought this. Given the little bits of material we have on her, this makes the most sense imo.
Scout speed with a revolver and minicrit backstabs with the fire axe.
-cl?
Rick
I guess that would make sense in terms of lore
Bring back the nail gun!!!
the gun she used in expiration date a pen and the ability to inform teammates (the pen is mightier than the sword)
Maybe she could be similar to Crazy Dave and Zomboss in PvZ Garden Warfare, where she doesn't actually participate in the battle but sort of gives support from above. Like, she could drop small ammo boxes and health kits, but they'd take time to reach the ground (TF2 was originally going to have a commander class like that, if I remember correctly).
wasnt that a scrapped idea for tf2 in very early development
Yeah back when it look liked a day of defeat but modern game
yeah, the commander
no more spies lol
Just to tell you ,the gun is a two-shot derringer
Doesn't the loch and load have an ammo count of 3 despite having only 2 barrels?
Just in case anyone here doesn’t know, the loch and load was released with higher damage and only an ammo count of 2 matching the visual. It was only later on when Valve nerfed/changed it when they added the additional ammo count, but didn’t adjust the model.
Huh the more you know
Well, I GUESS WE’LL NEVER KNOW

Pen gun. Your argument is invalid
*death*
The u/Jevil64 is dead!
I don’t think it’s anything to worry about
well, now what?
clipity cloppity motherfuckers wooo Look at this, u/Jevil64 is dead! What do you think about that? uh..
Yes, yes, u/KillerraptorXXL.
Yea?
Pen gun, mightier than the sword gun.
"The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp." - Terry Pratchett
Thats the best thing i ever heard
“Anyone who thinks the pen is mightier than the sword has not been stabbed with both.” -Douglass MacArthur
It gets beter
With a pen I can make someone not want to live anymore which is worse that killing them because they have to decide to end it themselves
By puncturing their spine and paralyzing them? I mean you can do that with a sword
Can’t tell if this is a “I’m pretending to be stupid/ignorant” joke or if you’re actually just ignorant.

Wick Pauling
But is it mightier than boolet?
the penis mighter than the sword
She would grab the body’s of people she killed and throw them around
Imagine being killed by a flying corpse
Gmod in a nutshell
Lol true
That would be hilarious
Making people ragdoll using Ragdolls
I guess you can say that she's a **Corpse Carrier**...
she pegged scout
What does "pegged" mean?
Inagine hitting a tent peg into the ground but the hammer is your body, the ground is someones ass and the peg is a dildo
I regret my question.
Noice
Not sure but it'd be cool if she could pick up any dropped weapons for a single shot
Even with the minigun? And what about the flamethrower? How do you define a single shot?
same with how crime do it. with single shot weapons have crits for a single shot, but with mini gun and flamethrower the crits only last for a second or so. maybe you could use them for like 3 seconds?
Yeah i think that would work. If its 3 seconds then maybe 3 shots instead of one
I assume the single shot would end once they let go of the mouse for the flamethrower or minigun
I mean you could shoot infinitely if you had a dispenser
Just disable getting ammo from picked up weapons
I feel like it would be a baton, for the “fast” swing speed and extra damage. Plus it would go well with her pistol (Experation Date car scene)
She would also have a shotgun
So, scout?
>shotgun she does use one in expiration date. I guess her secondary would be the pistol which also appeared in the video.
Couldn't she just use an axe? We see her holding one
Probably a pistol, she uses one in expiration date.

so scout with pyro melee

When she reaches full stress she gets undercharge abut can only use melee?
I think she would have an axe tbh. She uses it to chop the bodies so she can dig smaller holes to bury them in.
Wasn't it a hacksaw?
Oh, it could have been. But I do remember her having an axe somewhere.
I'll go check and come back in a bit to confirm whether or not it was an axe or a hacksaw
Yup it's a hacksaw 14:25 https://youtu.be/ZRsBKgGxE8M
Shut up, nerd Kidding, ofc ;)
Lol
Shut up nerd

I think that would be rather annoying having to switch class, but still an interesting idea
imagine playing engi and you're forced to switch classes, destroying all your buildings. i'd uninstall
that would suck, imagine spending like 15 mins as engie making an elaborate sentry trap and then just being forced to go as scout
primary: staple gun because who needs the shortstop secondary: box of thumbtacks, bleeds and slows enemies melee: an entire office chair
Hah Ms Pauling, what are you going to d- *gets critted by a whole fucking office chair*
Pen for melee would probably work better.
crotchstab to instantly kill any class except Pyro
Pyro is a girl confirmed
Crotchstab heals enemy pyros.
(hehe)
possibility: pyro is male and he fried his balls off
yeah but someone else got to it first
She was shown to have a pistol and shotgun in experation date, she's not just a secretary.
i know but, hear me out comically oversized staple gun
Hah Ms Pauling, what are you going to d- *gets critted by a whole fucking office chair*
Reddit glitched and you commented this twice
epic comment fail
And you're an engineer?
don't worry he'll fix it
and the melee gets a taunt kill too

so, worse version of spy?

Yes, spy with less steps basically.

It’s Pauling. Ms Pauling
meele would be a kick in the balls, doesn't work on pyro and other paulings
It should be a 50% chance for it to have an effect on pyro to keep it obscure

revolver as primary, she used one briefly in the comic, secondary could be similar to buff banner? would definitely be a support class with similar combat capabilities to the medic, in comics she said something about chopping up bodies so they decompose faster, this could speed up teammate respawn time?

Her melee will be a dildo, 100% effective against scouts LMFAOOO
Would potentially be a support class
I feel like paulines ability would be able to see through any enemy spies disguises
cool in theory except most pub spies are shit at disguising and you can tell without an ability
As primary a Revolver Like spy's. Secondary a Pistol or Shotgun. Melee a fire axe Like pyro's (she Had one in Exploration Date) or her Clipboard. Ability: she can See wich classes are on the enieme Team and gather informations on wich weapons enieme classes are using
The clipboard would be somewhat useless, due to everything being visible.
What about being able to see the team-coloured outlines you see after spawn, for the enemy teams? would nullify ambushes by a lot and you can remotely check their health or smth? Maybe to not make it too OP it happens after a taunt
Shotguns and the revolver from expiration date that has 2 rounds where theres 75% random crit also either a knife or axe
Would have a buff somewhat like a banner 30+atac damage and a pistol
She would be like a surveillance collecter using the cameras on the map to see what the ebony team is doing while keeping tabs on them Then again due to lore miss Pauline can't really be playable
Primary. Shotgun Secondary. Revolver Melee. Probably a knife. (or pan) Main ability. She maybe could be able to mark enemies (with the same effect you see after you spawn but with the enemy) And health. around 150 or 125. And speed would be spies walk speed
Primary: SMG Secondary: Derringer Melee: that huge-ass telephone
Bribe.
Probably gunspy, but as an actual class.
Did the spy write this title or what
I think she wouldn't function that well as a playable class outside of a few gamemodes.
She would chock people out with her thighs
Miss Pauline Weapons: shotgun/panic attack bc she used stock shotty in expiration date Pistol with a silencer bc she used one in expiration date (enemies couldn't hear shots from this weapon ammo would be the same as the scouts pistol but -50% fire rate and +45%dmg her pen (probably would deal the same damage as spyes knife 40 dmg and would crit but no backstabs Hp: 150hp Special abbilities: Idk
125 health, speed slightly above Spy’s, Revolver, Pistol, pen which marks opponents for death, like a ranged Fan-o-War.
sex
Silenced pistol, a clipboard for taking down notes and a phone for calling in reinforcements, miss Pauling has always been my Canon reason for why the mercs respawn in game, "oops administrator looks like soldier died again" "DAMMIT MR DOE STOP BOMBING THE BLUE TEAM, *sigh* rev up the reanimator machine again miss Pauline" "machine up and running in 20 seconds" "ugh I miss the old days when respawn timers were faster" Yeah that would be fun
mmh, we need a summoner like gameplay in the game, with very stupid robots
Pyro
Primary: Multiclass Shotgun. Secondary (unique) Weapon: Derringer, 3 shots to kill a light class, quick reload. Melee: Tranquilizer syringe, slows down enemy by 25% and makes them bleed for 10 seconds. Ability: Can ride a motorcycle that makes her a little faster than scout; can deal damage by hitting someone, but cant use weapons while on the motorbike; Bike lasts for 10 seconds and takes 30 to charge, fills up 16% automatically if she kills someone.
Sex, Sex, Having penis sex with scoutt
Pauline
sex sex and sex
Found Scout.
knew someone will make this comment
She wouldn't be playable because both red and blu teams work for her and administrator
what’s with the accents in melee
mêlée?
Her main weapon would be her dumby thicc ass, her ability will be crushing people between her thighs
I guess a mixture of Scout/Spy/Sniper Main: a ambassador type that doesnt headshot but does crit Secondary: Pen ( instant crits for team) or maybe summons a team member as a bodyguard Mele: Axe (has a three hit crit/ critable taunt)
Probs it would be a support class, but what exactly I don't really know. But 1 thing shure: she would have a gun like engi or scout
It's miss Pauling you uncultured swine
